Cheese Slice!
Gonzalo F.

Highly recommend the pizza! I love the perfect balance and the thin crust! Out of my experience of eating pizzas, I've been an uber eats delivery guy and I've set a goal to taste every pizza spot I pick up from in CT, and now I came here willingly and it's amazing!!!

I was passing through Connecticut and stopped in Michael Angelo's for a quick pepperoni slice, and it was so good I ordered a second. The crust was so the superstar so light and crispy, along with a delicious sauce made for a wonderful experience. The service was great, and the entire shop was very well kept and clean. I can't wait for my travels to bring me back. Happy California traveler.

Love their pizza here... you call it in and it's ready after 15 minutes. It is pricey but nothing is cheap these days. Ordered "the works" in medium and it was perfection. Had a side of meatballs too and I'm so addicted to it, love their sauce! My favorite pizzeria in Danbury!

Pizza was not good. Asked for garlic but got garlic powder!! Gross. I expected to have actual garlic cloves. For $26 a rip off.

Absolutely the best pizza in Danbury! Delicious New York style pizza. Thin crust, flavorful sauce, not too much cheese - perfection!

Stanziato's Wood Fired Pizza - Fried Calamari

Stanziato's Wood Fired Pizza

We went to Stanziato's for Valentine's and it was packed total holiday chaos, long wait, but the…read morestaff kept it together and everyone was in a good mood. Once we got seated, the vibe was spot on: cozy lighting, that awesome wood-fired smell. We started with fried mozzarella crispy outside, gooey inside, perfect with a little marinara. Then shared the chicken parm, which was killer juicy chicken, melted cheese, solid sauce, and the side pasta was on point. Our server was amazing, but the real standout was when the manager came over to chat. He asked how our night was going, wished us a happy Valentine's, and even checked if we needed anything extra. Super genuine, not salesy just made us feel like they actually cared we were there celebrating. That little touch turned a busy night into something special and personal. Food was delicious, atmosphere fun despite the crowd, and that manager moment sealed it. Definitely going back.

Stanziato's is an oldie, but a goodie, with lots of things going for it, not least the truly…read moreexcellent pizza dough. It's well proofed, the perfect balance of chewy and tender, gently salted and seasoned to allow toppings to shine. The thin Neopolitan / Neapolitan style crust is best eaten fresh out of the oven, not by delivery or take-away. After many years of eating at Stanziato's, though, we have some additional observations: As at just about every other restaurant, service is variable. The wait staff tends to be beautiful and young, capable about 80% of the time and less so about 20% of the time. The front of the house was extremely disorganized on a recent visit and although it was not busy, we waited 10 minutes to be seated. (We noticed others waiting a long time by the door without acknowledgment, waiting to put in or pick up an order.) Our first hostess greeted us curtly, and then completely disappeared, leaving a colleague to pick up the pieces 10 minutes later. Salads are well designed, but not always well executed. On several recent visits, our salads were slightly gritty with sand or soil. (A supplier issue?) Lardons in a Harvest Salad were cut into overly large pieces, fried too far in advance, and ate like salty rubber erasers. When it's not gritty, the beet salad is still a winner. Pizzas are sometimes served unpleasantly and excessively charred -- not just spots that might be expected on a Neopolitan / Neapolitan style pizza, but whole sections of crust. When 13" diameter pizzas run north of $20, I'd hope for better quality control. There is huge variation in decor from room to room, a legacy of the real estate takeover of the Latin bar next door, perhaps. The original rooms run pubby; newer rooms run clubby. The parking lot is as tight as ever!

This place hasn't been reviewed for a while so I felt I definitely needed to review it even though…read moreI only get delivery from them. Whatever issues might happen inside of the restaurant, I'm not aware of that. What I can talk about is the delivery and the food. I have bought delivery from here twice now and each time had a great experience, dealing with two different drivers. I LOVE the fact that they deliver. Being a Westchester transplant, it was a hardcore smack in the face when I called a bazillion places and no one, even within a two mile radius, would deliver! Like what is that?!? So when I found this place and they said yes, I was ecstatic. I thought maybe that alone influenced my like for the food but the second time around it was still just as good! We've had wings, jalapeno poppers, caesar salad, pesto pizza, pizza with sausage/pepper/onion and another specialty one that I can't remember. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the caesar salad. The pizza is quite yummy, not oversauced, and just the right amount of ingredients. The peppers and onions are cut super thin which is great and they put a lot on still. I really enjoyed the food. The drivers were great too. The first one had a very hard time finding us but continued to try and call until he got here. The second one was quick and knew exactly where we were. No bad review from me.

Garlic knots came with no sauce. The only reason Sal's gets 3 stars is both the garlic knots and pizza tasted good. We may give Sal's dinner or pasta a try sometime.
