Good after hours service. However, we had several tub and shower valve bodies replaced previously. That being said, when I pay for after hours service and request to have another valve body replaced for a tub that will not shut off, I expect not to be charged a "diagnostic fee". The job was to replace the valve body. We already knew the valve bodies were severely worn. It felt a little like a money grab. read more

Never again, they tell you one thing and do another. After telling me yes that they have the ac special like so many other ac companies in Charlotte like the $19.95 check and tune up, they came out and found that my unit was running fine and no leaks, but it is a outdated system that they can't work on, because parts for it are no longer available, the technician suggested I may need upgrade my system, and some one can out the next day and talk to me about it, well he left then came right back, because he said the company charged me $74 for the service today. Well forget the check and tune up special, I had to pay $74, just for him telling me my outdated system is running fine, and he couldn't work on it. That's a scam. The technician was good, really nice guy, but this company doesn't do business right. I told the manager don't ever come back to my house, keep the $74. Bad business. read more

Cody was on time and announced when he was in his way and once he arriced. He was very cordial and professional! Cody got right to work and installed our garbage disposal. He noticed an active leak from the mismatched pipes under our kitchen dink and we decided he should fix that also! He replaced worn metal pipes and tape and he installed a uniform looking set of pipes under the sink! I was very pleased with his work and his knowledge as well as his friendly manner. I tried to fix my toilet on my own. Epic fail! I have family visiting for the Labor Day weekend and needed a professional to fix the toilet. Luckily, Michael & Son could fit me in today. They sent me a text message once my appointment was confirmed notifying me of my technician. I appreciate the extra safety and care that they exhibit toward their customers. This helps to verify the identity of the technician who arrives. Ryan called and said he could come earlier. He arrived about 20 minutes later. He was dressed in a uniform, used shoe covers to avoid tracking any dirt in the house, and was friendly. He looked at my issue, walked me through the solution, and provided a quote. They charge for the work task, not by the hour so you know and understand what your final bill will be when the work is complete. If you accept the work, they proceed. He finished pretty quickly. Ryan cleaned up all the water and even put the floor mat back in place that I moved prior to his arrival. The work also comes with a warranty. I have used Michael & Son for electrical work, but now I can attest that they are just a great company all around. Michael and Sons cleaned my A/C fan blower and shortly afterwards it stopped working . The same tech came back out and the charge was going to be $3,000 which was outrageous!! I was told by a manager that part of the bill was covering overhead. Well I went with another Company and saved almost a $1,000. The technician Ray left without turning my thermostat back on blew a fuse because he closed the box on a wire and left my craw space door wide open not even letting me know he was leaving. I was kind even gave him a cocola. If you don't except their pricing they act very bitter. They still owe me a refund. I will let you know if I get it!!! read more

However, once I receive the pricing for the items that needed to be changed and I compared the actual cost of the parts to what was being charged, I felt it was outrageous. The price for the service was outrageous. Almost $600 to plug / disconnect an old existing water supply line for an unused ice maker; the labor time took less than 30 minutes. The only reason I agreed to the service was because the new unit delivery was pending the disconnect to be completed prior. Michael & Sons does a lot of advertising but they do not mention inflated, unreasonable charges to complete their work. The technician was a nice guy but absolutely ridiculous charges. I will not use them again and will repeat my unfortunate situation to everyone I know. read more

I would highly recommend this company. I called on a Sunday to make an appointment to fix our water ( we have a well). It was easy to get in touch with them and they sent a technician , Josef Teague , at 8 am on Monday. He arrived right on time. Was very professional and respectful. He tested all the parts of our well outside and under the house. He kept me apprised of what he was doing and why. When it was determined that the entire well pump and other parts needed to be replaced he explained in detail each component and gave me a full detailed cost and even got me the comparison in price in fixing the well or getting city water. He worked all day to fix our well. He explained the process as he went along and let me know what to expect once the water was once again flowing into the house. Josef checked back the next morning to let me know that the aerators on our faucets needed to be swapped out as some of the longtime sediment built up which slowed the water pressure coming out of the faucets. I will be keeping this company for any future services. It was just a professional honest job repair. I have confidence in their work and appreciate Josef's honest work ethic! BAIT AND SWITCH! my appointment was for the promotional cleaning / tune up. service tech arrived and looked at my hvac and stated he couldn't clean it for the promotion price. he said the cleaning was basically a hose down and to take the panels off it would cost $300-$400. i asked exactly how much he indicated he have to write up an estimate. i was not opposed to paying a reasonable amount however the tech continued to say it would be more than the promotional cost. i called Michael and sons because i trusted them, however now after the experience I feel like the promotional was just a bait and switch. read more

I was very pleased that I could get an appointment so quickly. Matt was on time and diagnosed the problem right away.. He discussed options I had for replacing a leaky garbage disposal. He had the replacement I needed on his truck and was able to install it in under an hour. There was no cleanup needed as he kept the area he was working in neat and contained. I feel confident that the work was done correctly and professionally. My only negative was the price I paid for the disposal. When I see the same model at nearby stores for under $200 I wonder why my bill was 3 times that amount. I know I couldn't have installed it myself so paying for a plumber to do it was my only option. Matt McCarter arrived promptly and assessed my running toilets- he pointed out the disintegrating rubber gaskets, checked my water for chlorine, water pressure all the while showing me what was a concern. He broke down price replacement to rectify today's issues and informed me about the HVAC & electrical package- he was able to arrange an early appt for the next day to return with supplies required and quote the time he needed for completion. We've had a new unit put in 2 years ago by M&S and every year we've had issues with this unit. We're disappointed by the lack of communication. The tech doesn't show up during the time he said he would. We were told that he would return the next day once he receives the part but the next day we don't hear from him. We're always having to call to get updates of when the tech would come. read more

The entire HVAC annual check up went exceptionally well. Nolan Ash is a wonderful technician very knowledgeable, personable, very detail oriented, and very valuable to your company. He covered every piece of the inspection with great ease and knowledge. Nolan also cleaned our electromagnetic filter filters that are amazing.
