Ya'll The chicken here is absolutely amazing. A great crunch on the outside and the inside is just moist and delicious. Oh, and the drinks. You have to try the Ol' Fashions. Just amazing. Both the bartender and server were amazing and you can tell they've worked together for a while. The place is small you will have to order at the bar, and they'll bring your food to the table when your table is ready, so you're going have to be patient. I wish I could give this local spot a higher score. We went early on a Friday to try the fish fry. We got there around 4:30, found a server, and gave our order. And then we waited. And waited. And waited some more. At 6:00 I asked how long the wait was going to be yet and was told we could be seated as our food was up next. Most of the tables in the restaurant were empty up to this point - you aren't seated until they are ready to bring your meal out. We were seated and then waited some more. Finally at 6:20 our fish was brought out, nearly two hours after we initially ordered. The fish itself was really good, lightly battered, cooked well. The fries were forgettable, quite overdone and almost cold. Do they fry them in advance and let them sit until they need them? The bar was busy and the servers were hopping but I just can't see coming back here when the wait is so long for what, in the end, was just an ok meal. read more

This place has been around a super long time and there is a reason why. The food is amazing and the staff is always upbeat even though they are always hopping as they are always busy on Wed and Sat for their incredible all you can eat broasted chicken and on Fri for their very good fish fry. The drinks are generous and fairly priced. We only give this a 4 because of the limited seating they have which can make for sometimes very lengthy wait times for a table. However, it is very much worth the wait time. For those of you complaining about no take outs, STOP YOUR WHINING! This is their business and they run it in the best way possible given their circumstance including the size of the building which limits the size of the staff they can keep on. A handful of fries, a little tub of coleslaw, a tub of tartar sauce, 2 small pieces of marble bread and of course the fish (about 4 small pieces and I do mean small). We came across this little place later on a Friday night. We took a seat at the bar, and had one of the most delicious old fashions around! Server quickly took our order - 2 Fish Fry's Please! In an old building in downtown Lannon, located just a bit off the bug line (so you can pedal your way here if you live anywhere off that trail. Pulled in for a friday fish fry and this place was mobbed. Almost entirely locals who swear that it's the best. They do it a bit different here too. You come in and place your order while you wait and when your foods up you get seated at an open spot. That was a bit different and awkward if you don't expect it. For the food I tried the std cod and my wife got the perch. I though the cod was a bit bland and a touch greasy. My wife on the other hand thought it was quite good. She was mixed on the perch which I preferred so we switched plates. In the end it was a decent fish fry, but nothing spectacular. The atmosphere here is Towny and I don't see that choice so I'm making the note. read more

Best fish fry ever! Its one of those country bars where you wait around the bar, place your order when the server comes around and they seat you with your meal when its ready. So don't expect anything fancy as far as decor. But you come for the food! Generous portions, tried both fried and baked/broiled and both were amazing. The baked version was prepared like poor man's lobster, drenched in butter and I think I'll get that instead of fried next time, even though the fried fish was excellent too. This is by far the most amazing fried chicken ever!!! Cutest little old tavern with all the locals at the bar. One waitress with 12+ tables. No menu only chicken, potatoes, veges and rolls. All I need is the friend chicken and a Brandy Manhattan. We take everyone there we can. Get there early we have waited two hours sometimes. So get there at 4:15 and you won't have to wait. Short and sweet review - went for the broasted chicken special on Saturday night and wow was it delicious! The potatoes were the only side dish worth eating but they weren't that exciting. Our first time there. It was a little confusing at first trying to find the hostess to put our name on the list. I finally asked one of the many patrons at the bar, he pointed to the waitress and said it may up to a two hour wait. BTW we were told to go early because it gets crowded later. We were there at 5:25 pm. All in all we had fun at the bar talking with the locals. 1 1/2 hour wait not a problem for us but maybe some people.
