Mia is amazing! I brought in my wedding dress 5 months before the wedding, she had it ready in 3 weeks. It fit perfectly and the bustle was so well hidden and elegant. She told me to try it on a month or two before the wedding and if it needed any further adjustments to call her and she would take care of it. A month before the wedding I tried it on and realized I had lost more weight and needed it taken in several inches, she had me come in two days later and had it finished by the end of the week! My DIL took her wedding gown to Mia for tailoring. The first appointment, Mia was an hour late. It took 3 appointments and at the last appointment, there was a stain (oil from the sewing machine) on the bodice. When this was shown to Mia, she waved off and said she would refund $50. I cannot adequately share the amount of stress this caused as the wedding is in 6 days. The lack of accountability by Mia is another issue. I would highly recommend Laundry Day in Park Hill who does tailoring and dry cleaning. If there is a silver lining, it is the couple who own this shop. After ordering a dress online for my Bahamian elopement this past December, I knew I would need to get it altered to make it fit just right for my big day. She barley batted and eye and asked me to drop it off on Monday so I could get it picked up early afternoon on Wednesday - basically a mere 2 days later. This gave a small cushion in case any additional modifications needed to be made. When I arrived on Monday she had me put on my dress and preceded to pin the straps up at the shoulder and in a the side, added some fitted cups to the bust, and pinned up the skirt. The store specifically recommends Mia for their alterations because she's so good at what she does. Many wedding dresses have many layers and are typically lots of work with delicate fabrics. I shopped around before buying and looked for recommendations on where to buy and almost all websites or bridal stores will prepare you to spend almost as much in alterations as you do on the dress. Mia's quote was very reasonable and she was completely up front about the work and the cost of the alterations if you want to get another quote for the work. My daughter found a 1940s vintage skirt suit that she wanted to wear for a DECA competition, but it needed some alterations. When I got in touch with Mia, it was 2 months before my wedding. Not only did Mia have my dress done 3 weeks before my wedding, but she also went above and beyond than what she charged me. Initially thinking I could only afford to get the dress hemmed, Mia made alterations to the dress that she definitely didn't charge me for. She made changes to the back of the dress in order to highlight the beautiful lace that was hidden and added a bra/corset on the inside, but the price reflected the lowest end of wedding dress alteration estimations.
