Cute storefront and very aesthetic bakery items. Key lime tart was flavorful but hard to eat. The filling was sweet, not too sour, but the crust was about 1cm thick- impossible to break with a metal spoon. Ended up eating half of the crust, and that was enough to go with all the filling. read more

Bought a chocolate chip cookie there for takeout. The cookie was small. And had only four chocolate chips in it. Four! That's about $1 per chip. Not only was the cookie not thoroughly cooked, but it had an 'off' taste to it. Between the cost, the size, the mediocrity and the texture, it was a ripoff. Had the lava cake; initially it was really tough, but then I asked the staff to reheat it and it was quite good, typical gooey in the middle with a slightly tougher exterior. I do think they try to do too much; multiple cake types, macarons, various breads and cupcakes. For that price, if they edit out some stuff, they could get more focused and become more consistent. I would have liked to try out some other stuff, but the pricing was prohibitive. I am writing this review having only been here one time. I noticed that they have a nice seating area here so decided to come for a snack and to get some work done. Would definitely recommend if you work from home or are a student. Not too noisy and comfortable seats. They have a huge selection of bakery items. A ton of options and i noticed a food menu as well. The vanilla cake pop was really good almost like an elevated version of the Starbucks one. Cute that they have those, don't see cake pops at many coffee shops/bakeries. I ordered a cake four days in advance. When my husband - the birthday boy - went to pick it up, they had no record of the cake. The young lady asked for proof of the order and said she had a lot of cakes in the back and could he be there a day early. She wasn't particularly nice about it either. So, he went to the car to get his phone called me, I sent him screenshots of the order confirmation which he then showed to the young woman behind the counter. She relented and started looking in the back again and after about 5 minutes brought out a cake - likely someone else's that they were preparing for the next day. She was apologetic which was nice, but a little too late. In terms of the cake, we ordered the fudge cake. I wish the website had better descriptions of the cake or a photo of the cross-section. The cake itself was very good but the layers were thin. The frosting was good but there was waaaay too much of it. We all scraped so much off of our slices. All in all a pretty good cake, but poor customer service made my husband felt like he had done something wrong. read more

Came again today for the flan ! That is really good flan they have . Being Hispanic and growing up eating that and still doing so in my adult life . I can say their flan is a banger . Honestly, the bakery is very pretty and in a very popular Chestnut Hill mall. Service was a little slow and lacked enthusiasm. The items were displayed very pretty and they were very pricey. The cakes we got were large chocolate cake, and the carrot cake. Both cakes were good, but not great to be honest. I like that they weren't overly sweet, but it felt they with something you can get in any commercial bakery like in a supermarket. I didn't really feel that there was anything special about them other than they look pretty. No one could tell me if they use fresh ingredients what type of flour, etc. but seeing that was my first time I'm willing to go back and try something else like like a macaron. read more

I love strawberry shortcake but I cannot do extremely sweet icing. In early December, I had a craving for something sweet on a late night so I ordered the strawberry shortcake slice from Mia's. The delivery was quick. The cake came in a small white box with parchment paper as to not smudge the cake which I appreciated. The cake was moist and had fresh strawberries in between layers. The cream icing tasted like whipped cream frosting. It was delicate and refreshing and when I finished this slice, I wished I had gotten the entire cake. Go check it out! read more

Went there after dinner and before a movie. The woman working was not friendly or welcoming at all. We were specifically looking for some chocolate chip cookies or fudge brownies, and they had none. We decided on a cake pop and three slices of cake because they had a special that said three slices for $20. When we asked the woman if she could put two pieces of cake in one box, and the third in another box, she told us we would not get the special price if we did it that way. This made absolutely no sense. When she finally gave us the cake, she included a small separate box. We then stood off to the side of this empty bakery, taking the third piece of cake and putting it into the extra box on our own. The logic behind this escaped us. We ordered a chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting for our daughter in law's birthday. It took us half an hour of waiting in the store before somebody finally took our order. They told us they would call us with a price because it was a custom cake. Nobody called so we tried calling the store. Nobody picked up the phone so we went back in person. A different person behind the counter this time took a long time to find our order slip. He then said it would be the regular price for an 8" cake and would be ready at the promised time. We went to pick it up and it was ready but the cheesecake frosting was brown in color. When asked, they said it was cheesecake frosting but with chocolate added !!! The decoration on the cake was very poor with just blobs of icing all around the periphery by way of decoration. We took it home for the birthday party and it was extremely disappointing. The 'cream cheese' frosting was just regular chocolate frosting, which we specifically had said we did not want and which was very stodgy and not even tasty. I'm reviewing Hingham location. Assuming it's a chain. Cupcakes are about $4 each. They're mediocre and overpriced. I would go as far to say the salted caramel is terrible. Stale cake with a hint of lemon flavor and the frosting was gross. In fact there was nothing salted caramel about it. The nutella one was more edible but I would assume it would have a hazelnut filling or topping. Just chocolate cupcake with a chocolate frosting and maybe a half teaspoon of a chocolate substance in the middle. Literally no Nutella. I bought 4 cupcakes. Complete waste of money. We stumbled upon this place after walking on a nearby trail. It was bustling with people and it seems like they're still in their soft opening period. We were able to peruse their options while waiting in line to order. We tried the red velvet cake, orange cake, apple crumble tart, lemon raspberry tart, and chocolate babka. Overall I would say that most things were good, but the only item I really liked was the lemon raspberry tart -- crisp crust, tart filling, and plentiful raspberries. They had a huge display case with a lot of treats that looked great, but I opted for a small cannoli and a few macaron. The person behind the register looked actively annoyed that I was there and gave me very halting reponses to my questions. I had to list the macaron flavors I wanted a few times before she got what I wanted. It was pricey but I was expecting it to be: add the word "Brooklyn" to the title and you can mark up your prices at least 15%. Got 2 cupcakes could not have more than one bite. Banana pudding was NOT banana pudding but some super heavy wayyy too sugary, very dense banana flavored desert. Also, it had this green garnish on top that tasted like wax. Honestly one of the worst bakeries to come across. Bakery is a stretch. Of note, the Seaport location does not bake on site but rather gets shipments from the Chestnut Hill location every 3-4days. (Oh how fresh the deserts must taste!) Kourabides were ok. Strawberry shortcake is dry with only a few sliver of sliced strawberries inside. I requested writing on top not knowing the cake top would be altered.
