Listen, I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you find yourself at Miami Beach Marina and you don't hop on a jet ski, you are seriously missing out on living your best chaotic life. First of all, Miami Beach Marina is beautiful. Like, obnoxiously beautiful. The kind of beautiful that makes you rethink all your life choices and wonder why you ever agreed to live somewhere without yachts just casually floating by like it's no big deal. It's so picture-perfect that even the pelicans look like they belong in a Calvin Klein ad. Now, let's talk about the real star: JET SKIING. I went from "nervous" to "wannabe Fast & Furious: Ocean Drift edition" in about 3 minutes. I was out there ripping through the waves like Miami Vice had called me in for backup. At one point, I'm pretty sure I hit a speed that legally requires a cape and theme music. Was I graceful? No. Did I accidentally scream every time I hit a wave and caught a little air? Absolutely. Was it the most fun I've had while still wearing a life vest and gripping onto dear life? Also yes. The staff at the marina was super cool too -- they gave clear instructions, hyped me up and made the whole experience enjoyable.

Panty liner wrapper on the wall of the shower. Ewwwh!

So this marina has location and a lot of slips available going for them. Other than that it is highly overrated. For this price point the service & amenities leave a lot to be desired. We were on hold over 15 minutes to reserve our slip & our dock attendant who did a good job helping us fasten our lines told us he hated his job. The marina showers were disgusting with literally a dead lizard on the floor and panty liner wrappers on the wall with no blow dryer or towels. The pool wasn't available for use. The pilings to the slips are shared on both sides with only one cleat so all the lines are entangled. When one boat goes to leave they literally untie your boat to get to theirs. If you are not on your boat at that time and there are winds serious damage can be done to your boat.

I spent many days and nights at the marina as I have a friend that lives and works on a yacht here. It is right by montys. The location is sublime. The visitor parking used to be free but I noticed today it's pay to park now with almost $5 per hour!!!!!

positive - I stopped for fuel and water here a month ago before sailing to the Bahamas and again today when I returned. both times I had great service at the fuel station. Negative - Both times I asked about a landing fee for my tender and was told it was $20 and not a big deal. I came in to land where I was told, dropped off my daughter and luggage and was told it was a 40' minimum fee (my tender is 15') at $3.50 a foot. That's $149.50 for 10 minutes. Great customer service told me I can load back up and leave and not pay that price. Forget that I was told twice at $20. They will tell you that this is only under many different circumstances. They should train their staff better on that. I have been a customer here for 8 years and now I am done. Ridiculous

Miami Beach Marina is the best place to take your boat out or book a dream yacht charter.

Hands down the best marina to take a boat out in Miami. Whatever review you read before just know that this is the best Marina to get out and about in Miami. Super convenient parking where you can get a special parking rate too. I'm terms of service, it's top notch, friendly staff and just a beautiful Marina to hang out. You can book any charter yacht you can dream of and more.

Really a pretty good very clean marina with a friendly, helpful staff and decent amenities. Though most of the boats here are larger, meaning bigger than 42', smaller boats are welcome too. The best things I like about it are its location right on South Pointe of South Beach and the many nearby dining establishments. Monty's, a fun restaurant with a good bar and a pool is right at the end of the dock and a Texas de Brazil just adjacent to it. You're also within easy walking to the likes of Joe's Stone Crab or if you'd like to get some great food to take back aboard, Joe's Take Away, both just over at 11 Washington Avenue. There is absolutely no problem with plenty of good places to eat and drink, just hit your Yelp App and you'll practically find yourself to be surrounded with them. The one thing to be cautious of if you come moor here is the marina rules. They do have transient berthing but if you just stop by to tie up, especially "on season" you have to be aware of where to dock or tie up, as varying fees and charges may apply. Also if you have a small boat and want to fill your tank with 15 gallons or less, you'll be charged a minimum of $10/gallon!!!! And, unless you know where to go or what you are doing, varying fees that can border on the line of being outrageous may apply for tying up or merely picking up or discharging passengers without even tying up. Also, when coming in by boat, be wary. Follow the rules of the road especially on Government Cut as it is swarming with Coast Guard, Customs, Home Land Security and and other agents of law enforcement who won't hesitate for a second to put you through what may be a very unpleasant boarding along with a thorough incredibly detailed inspection not only of your boat, but of your documents and papers as well.

The abandoned 6,566 seat Miami Marina Stadium was built in 1963 on land donated for water sports, and designed by architect Hilario Candela, then a 28-year-old recent immigrant from Cuba. It was dedicated as the Ralph Munroe Marine Stadium opened, completed at a cost of around $2 million ($16.7 million, adjusted for current inflation). A speed boat racer, James Tapp, was killed on opening day. The venue, located just south of Downtown Miami, was revered for its scenic views of Downtown and Miami Beach, hosting motorboat events, and events featuring the likes of Mitch Miller, Sammy Davis, Jr., and U.S. President Richard Nixon (whose seasonal winter residence, dubbed "the Florida White House," was on nearby Key Biscayne). In 1979, Miami Rowing Club relocated to an empty lot between the stadium and MAST Academy (then known as Planet Ocean museum). The Miami International Regatta has been hosted by Miami Rowing Club since 1973, the basin provides a 1,500 meter 7 lane course for practice, training and racing. From its opening for nearly 30 years, the stadium was used for its intended water sports as well as concerts, sporting events such as boxing (which began in 1972), and even figured prominently in the 1967 Elvis Presley film Clambake, serving as the scene of Elvis' climatic speedboat race. In the wake of Hurricane Andrew, it was declared an unsafe building on September 18, 1992. In 2004, $3 million was pledged in a municipal bonds by county residents for the restoration and renovation of the facilities.

PROS: -We stayed in the Sorrento Tower on the 10th floor. Our room had a balcony overlooking the pool and beach, and the view was phenomenal. The balcony itself was very spacious and one of the highlights of our stay. -The valet staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Every time we arrived or departed, we were greeted with a smile, helped with our bags, and wished safe travels. Valet service was also very quick--whenever we called for the car, it was ready within 5-10 minutes. -The room was spacious, although a bit outdated. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of outlets for charging devices. There was a separate mini fridge for guest use, along with the stocked minibar (which charges $30 just to open the door). Unfortunately, the soaking tub was in poor condition with pink mold and brown staining throughout. -The three elevators in our tower were extremely fast, which made getting around very convenient. CONS: -The majority of the staff, aside from valet, were rude and unwelcoming. At a "5-star luxury resort," you expect top-tier service--especially after spending about $3,000 for a three-night stay. That wasn't our experience. Service seemed to depend heavily on how guests looked. Multiple times I saw staff go above and beyond for guests dressed head-to-toe in designer brands and Rolex watches, while completely ignoring others who didn't fit that image. -As a Certified Pool Operator for many years, I was honestly shocked by the condition of the pools. Considering the price of the rooms plus additional service and amenity fees, I expected much better maintenance. The plaster surfaces in many of the pools were extremely rough, actually scraping the bottoms of my feet. There was noticeable staining, and a slick film on the water's surface from oils and lotions. The tile lines had thick layers of grime, and the pool floors were full of sand, broken hair ties, and drink straws. The children's slide pool was closed our entire stay, and the Sorrento Tower pool was also closed. Only three pools were heated, while the rest were very cold. The main pool started the day clear but turned cloudy by mid-afternoon. The hot tubs were more like "warm tubs," sitting around maybe 90 degrees. Then there's the LIV Dayclub pool, which blasts heavy bass music nonstop--definitely not ideal if you're hoping to relax. Ironically, we had a balcony overlooking the pool area and spent a lot of time out there reading and people-watching. During that time, we only saw maintenance come out to "vacuum" one pool--and that's generous to call it vacuuming--before wrapping up for the evening. The pools close at 6 PM, which feels extremely early and leaves plenty of time for proper maintenance and cleaning. Considering the pools are one of the resort's biggest selling points, far more care and attention should be put into maintaining them. With so many iconic hotel options in Miami, I probably wouldn't stay here again.

However, due to the Miami heat, the window slightly rolled down and partially covered the bottom of the ticket. When we returned from our boat ride, we were shocked to find a boot on our car. The staff said it was because the date wasn't fully visible--even though the ticket was right there and we had paid. What's worse is that the receipt doesn't say anywhere that it must be fully visible at all times. We double-checked and are attaching photos of the ticket as proof. We went to the office to explain the situation, but they took zero responsibility. They simply told us there was nothing they could do. In the end, we were forced to pay $62.50 to get the boot removed: $50 for a "Boot Fee" and $12.50 for an "Administration Fee." So we ended up paying $92.50 just to park for a few hours--$30 initially, plus $62.50 because a piece of paper moved. This feels like a perfect scam: everyone wins but you. Terrible customer service, aggressive policies, and absolutely no accountability. We're attaching videos and photos of the boot, the original receipt, and the payment we had to make. Avoid this place at all costs.
