Walked in and inquired in regards a boat repair for my old boat. It's probably older than I am and…read moreI bought it used. Jack for sure like the other reviews mentioned is straight to the point and even offered a couple of pointers in the right direction to help fix my issues. Laughed about the brand Seasquirt/Seastrike which he mentioned he used to sell. Thought this was a good sign but not really. Ultimately I was told that he won't work with any engines older than 2005. At that point I even mentioned I wouldn't even mind dishing out some cash to get it fixed and that I think it might be the fuel pump or power pack. But felt very discouraged with my old junker. It was almost insinuated to go get something newer (wish I had the luxury). Would have loved to give Jack and team a try but they won't work on my piece of junk which I love to pieces and gets me on the water however it can. He mentioned to try another neighboring shop. I guess if your engine is 2005 or older don't try this shop and go to superior outboard services.

He quickly diagnosed the problem, got the engine raised, and even assisted me in ordering the necessary parts. He's a one-man operation, so response times can vary, but what he lacks in size he makes up for in honesty, knowledge, and dedication to his customers. I recommend Ricardo to work on anything on one's boat as his knowledge of boats, engines,…read moreelectrical and plumbing systems is vast! I am not aware of anything he can't repair. Ricardo is an unassuming, modest but highly intelligent person who quietly listens to one's issues with the boat, engine or systems and then just goes to work confirming what one intuits he already knows is the problem and how to fix it? I wish I had called him to work on my boat sooner as instead, I called some else (I previously posted a review about that "mechanic"), who not only clearly is not as astute when it comes to outboard engines but boats' systems and unlike Ricardo, charges abusively for his sloppy services. Ricardo shows up on time but if he expects to be detained by some other job, has the courtesy to call the customer to alert him/her he's delayed. Unlike the other guy, he does not dress with a monogram uniform as he allows his work speak for him, not a uniform. I have owned sail and motor boats from 23' to 46' for 50 years (yes, I am 75 years old as the other guy for some reason, saw fit to point out in response to my review) and have taken multiple boating courses, inclusive of outboard engine repair. Over the years I have used the services of multiple boat yards, electricians and mechanics. Ricardo stands out way above any one else who has worked on my boats! I enthusiastically recommend him to boating friends and family without reservation!
