I called Dave and asked if he could lend me a hand forklifting a boat in/out of the water, as I wasn't available, and our backup and primary drivers were both out sick with the new 2026 "flu". Dave dropped everything to come help us out...this shows the level of integrity for this team at Complete Marine. True gentlemen willing to help out a friendly competitor. Take this as an endorsement from someone who you'd likely least expect it. Complete Marine is A+++ in my eyes. Thank you Dave, Marty, Tyler & Team!

Towards the middle of June, we discovered my boat had a coolant leak in the starboard engine. My…read moreboat is a Chaperral 290 signature with twin diesels. It is a Volvo penta powered vessel. I dock my boat at a marina up the intercoastal about 15 minutes away from complete and my local mechanic who comes to my marina told me to bring my boat over to Complete Marine because it may be necessary to remove my engine to get to the difficult to reach place where the coolant was leaking. This is where everything went downhill. The first week my Boat was there. I did not get any call at all. The first day of the second week I called and was told that the mechanic had yet to even look at my boat, but was very busy and will get to it. The third week I called with concern that my boat was still sitting in the water and was not bottom painted, but was assured that it will be taken care of, and that the mechanic was just getting to looking at my boat. More than 20 days since arriving, After finally hearing from the mechanic, he advised that he could not find a leak. I was beside myself, and I was very hesitant to continue with that marina but because my local Mechanic advised me to use them, I sent my local guy over to Complete to show them where the leak was and how he located it. Once my mechanic took his time to go and show their mechanic where the leak was, their mechanic advised that the best thing to do would be to remove both engines and that they will definitely find more than just a coolant leak once they get everything out. I was told to expect a very hefty bill for the hours of removing both engines.. Not only that, they told me that the port engine, the one that was running fine, had a leak as well. (This turned out not to be true). My wife and I had heard enough and we decided to take my boat out of there. Once we got to Complete, we were met with a bill that was over $1000 for basically doing nothing. I argued and the bill was reduced, but what happened next is what truly shocked me. I happen to be good friends with someone who works on diesel generators in the marine industry. His buddy is another certified Volvo mechanic and they met me at my marina. The good news was that they were both skinny and tall and were able to find the location where the leak was coming from in my boat without pulling out the engine. I was shocked to find out that the culprit was a $12 rubber seal and clamp ring that had a hole in it. Instead of paying upwards of $40,000 which is what I was told it could cost from Complete, I might get away with just a couple of thousand dollars in labor and maybe $150 in parts. Honesty is everything in this industry. I cannot trust complete marine at all, and I suggest you really do your homework if you are considering using them for repairs.

Searching the market for quality fuel delivery service for my boat, they were recommended by someone very close to me whom I trust. Communication with David was simple. I could tell by our conversation that the people at this company have a real passion for what they do. Customer service was on point. He was happy to stay on the line answering all my questions. I could tell my boat was in good hands. And I was given a great price! The delivery was punctual, timely, and professional. The driver paid attention to detail when it came to the care of my vessel while pumping, making sure not to scratch it, using fuel cloths to shield spillage, and never leaving the nozzle unattended. I couldn't have asked for better service.

I recognize it is my fault for not reviewing the items and trusting the representative who did check the boxes before placing them in my bag. I went back within 24hrs and they denied it and did not exchange it...in a world when you can order everything online, do yourself a favor an order online. Came in on Monday morning at 9 a.m. The person working the front desk (Carlos) promised the boat would be done by Friday. He did not seem to know anything about service. I asked him how many hours they would charge me for to change out 3 pumps, he said we will take a look at it and call you with estimate ($155 / hour). Also I asked them to take a look at the trim tabs, as one was not working. So on Tuesday afternoon I came by to talk to David (the owner). He seemed very frustrated with me for coming by to check on progress and also indicated that he does not like when customers supply their own parts (I brought in 3 pumps that I already purchased as I was going to originally change them myself). He said - when I have time to look at the trim tabs - I will call you. Wednesday - no contact. I called before closing and spoke to Carlos and asked David to call me. He also said to me "David was annoyed with you coming by to check on progress". I did not really know how to respond to that and decided to come in person on Thursday morning to have a conversation. Thursday morning David is busy doing sea trials and fixing engines (apparently what he likes to do instead of working with customers). I explained all my concerns and told them I would be pulling the boat out Friday. On Friday they gave me back the boat. Livewell pump - stopped working by the time I got home. Bad electrical connection. Was fixed by me in 15 minutes with a new heat shrink connector. Saltwater washdown - the mechanic pulled off the old pump that was completely rusted. He did not even pick up any of the rusted metal laying on the floor of the bilge and just plopped the new pump in the place of the old one using ONE SCREW without a washer. So the pump was flopping up and down easily. Also they did not have a proper elbow connector, so they Jerry Rigged one together using CAULK (Picture attached). Also he mounted the wasdown pump right next to the wall so that I WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO OPEN THE STRAINER on the pump to remove debris. This crappy job was re-done completly by me in 1.5 hours. Freshwater pump - not done at all. Total labor charge by Powerhouse for this - 4 HOURS. Summary - if you value your time, money and dignity - AVOID THIS PLACE AT ANY COST. David is a lunatic (which is backed up by multiple other reviews) and his employees - don't trust them with your trash.
