Just dined there with my wife and her son. Was glad to talk with the owner, Joey, on a Sunday evening. Thanked him for using top notch ingredients in his pizza. I can tell that he got the best ingredients for his pizza. That made the taste, as good as it could be. If you are driving on I-35 north of downtown, the location is convenient. It is on the frontage road. The road noise and the current construction are a distraction, but not worse that buying a pizza anywhere in NYC and eating in front of the pizzeria. So many pizzerias in Brooklyn are located under an elevated subway. This is not as bad. Negatives. Only outside dining, no inside restaurant. Must order from a window. Much of the year, temperatures in San Antonio are not comfortable. Saw that most of the orders were take-outs to eat off premises. Hours are not convenient. Joey may not want this to be a full time activity. Only open four or five hours in the evening on four evenings a week. All pizza is 16 inches. I would have ordered a larger pizza if it was available. All soft drinks are sold in cans. No refills. Despite the negatives, his pizza does earn four stars. I think it is worth a try. read more

I was excited to learn about this place from my son, as we've not found a truly remarkable pizza in San Antonio. We loved Ms Ellies, but since it closed, nothing else has checked all the right buttons on our pizza meter. The crust was phenomenal....thin base, bubbled up charred edges, slight crisp on the surface giving way to the perfect chew. The best pizza in town. Their cheese pizza is a multi-award winning pie and is absolutely delicious. They use cup and char pepperoni which holds the flovor. Their supreme pizza is sinfully delicious. The plethora of veggies include kalamata olives which provide more taste than black olives, but don't overpower as green olives often do. The addition of zucchini to the pizza is a masterful touch. My personal favorite pizza is J's Volcano. This is pepperoni with jalapeños and pineapple with a drizzle of hot honey. I love trying new pizza places, and Mia Marco's did not let me down! I ordered the BoBo (Mushroom) pizza with easy cheese from their pickup window right when they opened for the day. The girl taking my order could have been friendlier, but she may have been having an off day, I try not to judge. She told me it would be about 20 minutes and they would text me when it was ready, so I popped down the highway to pick up a salad at HEB. There really is nowhere to wait for your order right now except outside in the hot sun. Mia Marco's needs to put in some shaded benches for those waiting to pick up. I went to HEB and came back in about 25 minutes but my pizza still wasn't ready. It was another 5 minutes (so 30 total) before my pizza was ready, which feels a bit excessive since I was the first person to place an order, so there was no one ahead of me. I took the pizza home to eat since, again, currently there is nowhere to sit since the actual restaurant isn't open yet (side note: they need to put signs in the window of the restaurant pointing customers to the pickup window. I was confused when I got there about where to go to order). The pizza was very, very good! The sauce is a real stand-out, with a rich tomato taste and thick texture. I will say that when I asked for "easy cheese" they apparently thought that meant NO cheese. There was only the tiniest sprinkle of romano over the top of the pizza, no mozzarella at all, which was disappointing and is why only 4 stars. It is a testament to how good the rest of the ingredients are that I still enjoyed my pizza. The mushrooms have a lovely woodsy flavor and the basil provides a needed herbacious quality. This is the second time we were near enough to Mia Marco's. They were opening a small sit down restaurant the last time we were here but alas it still wasn't open. Wow! Some of the best pizza we've ever had. The crust was amazing texture and flavor, with the right amount of char. We got the veggie pizza and subbed the olives for pineapple. We also got some hot honey drizzle. We came on a weeknight and the food took around 15 minutes to come out. The veggies were very thinly sliced and it had plenty of toppings. The garlic knots came in an order of 7, which for $7 was a great deal. They had so much flavor and were perfectly chewy. Tried out their pizzas BoBo and Hotta Soppressata and they were great. The crust and sauce are really good. The fresh chopped basil on top was what set them apart from other pizza places. Tonight we had Mia Marco's Pizza for dinner. We've gotten pizza from Mia Marco's a few different time, and it is always good. We also live right up the road from them, so it's super convenient for us to stop and pick up a pizza on the way home from work. It's not your usual pizzeria though. It's just a little food trailer, but I do believe they are opening up a pizzeria soon, and I'm really excited about it. The only pizza we've had from here is Da Meatball pizza, and it is amazing. We get it every time. It's got mozzarella, provolone, and romano cheese on it. Plus homemade sliced meatballs and dollops of ricotta cheese on top. The crust is nice and thin, and the pizza is baked to perfection. We would love to try some of their other pizzas, but da meatball always wins us over. If you're in the Schertz/Selma area and want some good pizza, you need to stop here and get one. I'm not a huge fan of pizza, and I'm kind of picky when it comes to pizza, but I've never been disappointed in Mia Marco's. read more
