Update: The pizza is very good. When delivery is handled directly by the restaurant, the service is solid. However, when they use third-party delivery there is a chance the experience will be subpar. After I left feedback about the issue, they reached and made it right. Previous: 20-30 minutes late, that's fine. But the driver did not ring, knock, or notify. Just a sad box left in the cold. I only discovered the order because I happened to open the door myself to check. I really liked the establishment and the owner. We LOVE that it's a local business dedicated to honoring parents, training up the youth in the way they should go, supporting the community, and providing quality pizza. Those are sort of like a beignet crossed with a powdered sugar donut hole, but better than either. Great service? I used to love this place. One complaint is all I have. The pepperoni pizza is dripping in oil. The oil made our crust soggy. You lift one slice and let oil drip. I should have taken video. It is not appealing. Other than this, place is super clean, salad very good with nice crispy lettuce. Staff phenomenal and very friendly. I cannot say enough how awesome this place is. Walked in and was greeted immediately with a very helpful staff that offered suggestions since it was our first time. When our son mentioned it was his birthday nearly every staff member came to the table to congratulate him and made it very special. Pizza was on point and the wings were perfect. Garlic bread was probably my favorite thing (very strong garlic flavor). The staff surprised us agian with birthday deserts to top it all off. Kids had to ask for a picture before we left. Don't be deceived. They look very nice. I ordered the pepperoni rolls party pack. I was disappointed they were flavorless. They only had one slice of pepperoni and very little cheese. It did not disappoint, my first visit and I'll definitely be returning! I have a kid with an allergy to dairy (non-ANA) so going out to eat ANYWHERE can be a challenge, let alone a pizzeria. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they have vegan options so my kid was able to have a personal pizza for themselves without feeling left out while the rest of us shared regular pizzas! The overall atmosphere was relaxed and inviting with friendly staff. The restaurant was clean and pizza delicious. Highly recommend! First timer but it definitely will not be the last! We live nearby and have always wanted to try. Tonight was the night! It was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! We had the supreme and wings (lemon pepper and tai chili). The pizza was so flavorful, crust was light thin crust. Wings were SO good, highly recommend the tai chili. We encountered an issue with door dash (I still will file a complaint with them) where a driver, app showed the name of 'Luis' took our order. I called in and spoke with the manager. She was just made aware of the issue and was already remaking our order. She offered us an appetizer, I asked her to surprise us and she sent the pizza rolls. OMG, they were amazing! I'm in town for a week and my company gives me a Perdiem to spend on food so I come across this place pizzeria sounds OK looks OK let's give it a shot so I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. I got the four meatballs and I got an order of pizza rolls, which came with four and a marinara dip And two breadsticks for $.99 I did online ordering and I got a text message saying it was ready after I paid the cashier and appointing about an extra 10 minutes for him to get my food servers. Running around everywhere not really crowded. Ambience is kind of quiet didn't really smell anything going on food wise so maybe they need to work on that little better have some more aroma throughout the business. I noticed behind near the cashier, there's forks, Parmesan cheese, packets, napkins, etc. thinking I might not get any of my to go bag. I grab what I could and waited. Got my food headed back to the hotel and guess what? Nothing in the bag no forks, no napkins nothing I wasn't even offered any. Luckily I spotted them and got them myself. Not good guys. Tell your customers to get utensils and napkins and cheese if they want it cause otherwise you don't put it into the bag . First off the spaghetti is pretty huge however it lacking the sauce and said it came with two labels of sauce, along with the four meatballs, which were pretty small as you can see in the picture after a few bites of the spaghetti I could tell it was sitting there for a while it wasn't fresh. There was definitely not enough sauce at all. I added a much Parmesan cheeses I can for flavor and end up throwing half of it away . The pizza rolls were kind of greasy and all had pretty good flavor. I inspected one. It looks like a mozzarella cheese stick inside along with one pepperoni and the rest was dough, so nothing exciting there will be great flavor. The marinara sauce was added addition to dip them otherwise in that I probably would not recommend the pizza rolls and just order a pizza maybe as for the spaghetti definitely as for extra sauce if you get it, maybe get some fresh pasta meatballs were OK. I did eat all four of those and I ordered two breadsticks that were pretty plain kinda like Olive Garden but less seasoning overall four out of 10 guys work harder. This is a review for a delivery order - I did not eat inside of the restaurant. When browsing the menu, I noticed a "Pizza Kit" option. Decided to make it a family activity for my husband, kids, and myself. It was fantastic. Huge bang for your buck! $10 for a 16" pizza kit includes the dough, sauce, and cheese. You can add on more toppings to include in your kit for an added charge or have your own toppings at home to add on. The restaurant has a video on their facebook page with instructions on making the pizza at home, they were easy to follow and worked great for my family. We ended up getting pepperoni and pesto sauce toppings added to our kit and split the dough into two so that my kids could make a pizza to their liking and my husband and I could have our own. Tried out Mattenga's after having some that had been delivered to my work for a meeting. I'm always on the lookout for good pizza (which was hard to find in the midcities area of DFW) so decided to visit the actual Mattenga's location for dinner. We were greeted when we walked in the door and seated fairly quickly. The location itself is definitely feeling dated and could use a little sprucing up, especially the buffet/drink area. Everything appeared relatively clean, and we witnessed the staff mopping the floor thoroughly while we were there. We ordered the Big Matt pizza, garlic nuggets, and a calzone. Everything was very, very good and the portions were generous. It was clear that the pizza toppings were high quality and the crust was well made. The calzone was perfectly cooked and big enough for two meals! We were also given complimentary zeppolis for dessert since it was our first time, and we will definitely be ordering those on a return visit. There is a lot of good pizza in this area, but Mattenga's will remain on our go-to list, for sure. read more

It was outstanding I will definitely be back for more pizza. My party had a regular margarita pizza and they loved it so I would definitely try this place. Final time ordering today. The last 3 or 4 orders, mix of delivery and pickup have been awful. Used to be a great spot, but they have expanded to multiple locations and seem to be overextended. Pizza is always cold, old, and greasy. Order has been incorrect, omitting an item or straight up giving us someone else's pizza. Ingredient quality has declined, and prices have gone up. Story of western civilization I guess. Only in a food desert such as Schertz, where the denizens consider Whataburger and Chik-fil-A to be fine delicacies, could a place like this keep going with these prices.
