Okay, the location is a bit sketchy. It's on this stretch that's part industrial and part forgotten. The kind of place you pass through on your way to somewhere else. When you find the food truck and park, you may lock eyes with the homeless guy chilling at the gas station. No matter. Sometimes you take risks to eat good food and this is one of those times.
When the young English speaking cashier isn't around, you are on your own. You'll do ANYTHING to convey to the elderly Latino couple manning the kitchen that you would be extremely grateful for a desayuno plate. They don't speak English, you don't speak Spanish but you manage to perform some awkward pantomime to convince abuelo to step out of the truck so you can emphatically point at the picture of the desayuno plate posted outside the truck. You silently curse in Tagalog that the 16 units of Espanol you took in college were useless. Useless!
Anyhow.
That breakfast plate is so good putangina! Simple, austere, but tasty. You don't care that the homeless guy is now doing a drug deal with a guy in a black pickup truck. No. You finish every last bit of that breakfast plate.
Eat your heart out Ephrains. Mia Cocinita's comida is mucho better! I'm even taking Spanish lessons so I can ask for other things on their menu.
