*Heads up... lengthy review.* I happened to glance at their little yard sign as I was taking a left out of the Target shopping center. I was headed back to Lady Janes to pick up my Husband. We didn't quite know what we wanted to do for dinner yet so I said "Hey Siri, text Super Dave... look up Mia Bistro, I just saw a sign for a new Thai restaurant". He was already in the chair getting his hairs cut so when I parked, I looked them up. And I read all the reviews. We are very well versed with Thai cuisine. Mia's is a new restaurant and it's abundantly clear they work very hard at achieving authenticity. Which is why most would consider their menu to be limited. If you don't know Thai cuisine very well, you may very well be disappointed in their selection. What we experienced from start to finish warrants being put on "our list". I'm one on the look out for exceptional customer service, and when we dine... we expect at least what we pay for, at a minimum. They were easy to find, near the movie theater with a PERFECT location. Walking in, we were greeted with the most beautiful atmosphere, an attractive, welcoming restaurant and the best smiles in Wake and Johnston County combined! We were immediately greeted and sat. Promptly submitted our drink order with our waitress that arrived 30 seconds later. Great Positive Energy. Good Start. We were given enough time to pick out our appetizer from a list of approximately 8 deliciously described starters. We picked the Thai Beef Jerky/ Thai Beef Bites... and glad we did! Thin strips of marinated, crispy beef served with a spicy Thai sauce that wasn't too spicy at all. Super Dave loves Hot & Sour soup so he gave it a try. It's different than any other Tom Yum we've had, but just fine for a flavorful soup. If I remember correctly, there were about 12 entrees (with protein options) to choose from. I ordered Panang Curry, which is my go-to and pretty much the recipe I gauge Thai restaurants by. UNBELIEVABLY DELISH, PACKED WITH FLAVOR! Dave got the Spicy Basil Leaves (which he kicked up after she brought out the sauce carousel =o) ). It had a hint of smoke and was an exciting palette of spices and veg. Actually made a lettuce wrap with the garnish from the Jerky, YUM! Most everything on their menu had protein options. And if it didn't, they would be more than happy to accommodate. Everything was super flavorful. If you're not used to recipes with a bunch of flavor, be prepared for your tastebuds to do cartwheels, and not because of the Scoville score! (You can ask for any intensity of heat... or none at all) The portions were generous, and come with white rice, which I prefer. Plenty leftover to take home for another delicious meal. I usually post food porn, but we excitedly dug in before I remembered to take pics! All throughout our dinner, we were visited by at least 2 employees in addition to our server. Our cups were constantly filled and they were all attentive to us, making sure not to miss anything. They were sufficiently staffed and you felt the vibe they were happy to be there as they were like busy bees and very visible. Not lurking in a corner trying to hide they were on their cell phones. Very customer focused. For a Saturday, it wasn't packed but plenty busy. I expect the place to get busier and busier as folks discover Mia Bistro and the attention to detail, genuine customer service and the outstanding flavor journey they provide. We are tickled freakin pink to have another good, quality dining option in our area! Mia Bistro is now on our radar and will certainly become a favorite go-to. We made an impromptu change because the place where we were going to eat for Father's Day eve was overrun with high school graduation parties, and my first time at Mia Bistro was very impressive. We're so glad we found Mia Bistro After trying many disappointing Thai places around Raleigh, we finally found Mia Bistro. If you're looking for authentic thai flavor, fresh ingredients and more thai dishes options besides only pad thai and drunken noodles, you must try this place. They have a lot of options of traditional and delicious Thai salads, curries and stir fry dishes. On our last visit, we were so excited in seeing curry puffs in the menu as no other Thai restaurant in the area would have this appetizer. I was initially certain that a new Thai restaurant in Garner has to be in error. I'm delighted it wasn't. Our takeout was prompt, accurate, and delicious. While they don't have the biggest me I and the food was enjoyable, if not mind blowing (I've had far worse Thai food and slightly more inspired as well). However, everything was tasty and we're thrilled there's a new option in Garner to offer very respectable food that isn't pizza, fast food, sandwiches, or wings. We were excited to learn that Garner was getting a new Thai restaurant and gave it a try on a Sunday evening. Mia Bistro is occupying the former Japanese steakhouse location near the movie theater. The menu is very limited, with three or four appetizers, 2 salads, and 8 common Thai entrees along with a couple of monthly specials. Our server was good and kept our drinks full and checked in on us. During the first thirty minutes of our meal, we seemed to be the only customers in the restaurant, but by the time we left two other tables were occupied. I tried the chicken Panang Curry. The kitchen adjusts the spiciness to western palates as I requested 4/5 on the spiciness scale, but my meal barely had any heat. Bummer. My curry was tasty and properly prepared, but seemed a bit skimpy on chicken. I'd rate it as a 3-star meal. This was not the worst Panang Curry I've ever had, but it was not the best either. My wife was thoroughly disappointed in her $16.95 crab fried rice because, by her estimate, it contained less than 2 tablespoons of crab and really didn't have any crab flavor. I tried a bite and it just tasted like plain fried rice to me too. She rated it as a 1-star meal. Our meals, along with 2 Diet Cokes and a tip, was just shy of $50. Although my Panang curry was tasty, the skimpy serving of a chicken seemed like a poor value for $14.95. My wife's crab-fried rice was just a rip off. For $16.95, serving this dish with virtually none of the featured ingredient is inexcusable. Restaurants absolutely need to make a reasonable profit, but they also need to provide their Customers a realistic value if they want to survive. Overall, Mia Bistro rates as 2-stars. We won't be in a rush to try it again. read more

Very happy to have a good Thai place around this area. The crispy pork belly was so crispy and tender, the tum yum soup a good balance of spicy and sour, and the pa thong ko was freshly fried and great with the pandan dipping sauce. The one dish I thought could use some work was the pad kee mao. If it could be less greasy and have more noodles and veggies that would be great. There was a bit too much chicken to noodle ratio. The menu when you dine in has even more dishes than listed online and I'm excited to go back and try more things. read more

Um yeah no! We order online and it said 30 mins. We got their waiting and finally went in and it was already done. Got home and saw they added peanuts after I requested them being left off. It's even in the recipe. Open it up and it looks good. Minus the nuts. The taste not so much. It is extremely tangy. That look too much tomato paste in it. I tried to eat my partners and his was nasty too. Padkeemou noodles were not good at all!!! The spring rolls were 10.00 for 3..... way over priced for frozen spring rolls. The thickness is bad. And doey like they were frozen and thrown in the fryer. He whole meal was 60$ not worth the money. Slash the prices. read more

I loved the modern vibe of the restaurant. The service was fantastic 12/10. Our host was very warm and inviting. Our waitress was attentive and kind. As for the food, if I were to compare to other Thai restaurants it left me wanting. We had Curry Puffs appetizer: Flaky and flavorful. The best part was the sweet dipping sauce. Spring rolls were delicious. Tom Kah soup is my fav, but theirs missed the mark for me. It was missing the zing flavor. Thai Ginger chicken. Though I love ginger, it tasted very strong. I would say that entree was the best we had that night. Pad See Ew with chicken was missing the authentic Thai flavor. Needed more sauce for sure. Thai tea was good, but was served to me in a small mason jar in comparison to other tall glasses I saw. Overall, the service and ambiance were excellent. The way they plated our food was impressive. Unfortunately this is just another American style Asian restaurant, which means fake Asian food. The appetizers were greasy and the main course was just fried rice and shrimp. They even served my Japanese beer in a Blue Moon glass. I do believe that there were no Thais involved in the preparation of my food. read more

***I have never tried Thai Food***but me and my friend went here since it is new and we are so glad we did! The restaurant itself is super cute and clean. Our waitress Magic was really nice and always had a smile! As far as the food the curry had a rich coconut flavor and many pieces of onion and chicken which I loved! We both got our food at spice level 2 (out of 5) and it was perfect! The mango sticky rice was sweet but not too sweet, the perfect finish to our meal :) both me and my friend had enough food to take home so the portions are great for the price! I hate to write a bad review but, in this case, I have to do it. I've eaten a lot of Thai food in my life & this was by far the worst. The lady who greeted and waited on me was very friendly & helpful. The service was great, and she patiently answered all of my questions. But, the food was an entirely different story. As an appetizer, I ordered the spring rolls. They were completely bland & appeared to be all cabbage. At $4 apiece, I was very disappointed. For my entrée I ordered the crab fried rice. The photo I saw showed big chunks of crab in it. When it arrived, I was surprised to find that it had no flavor at all. It really should be called "egg fried rice" as there were huge pieces of eggs & very little crab--I would estimate less than a tablespoon of crab. I added salt, pepper, and soy sauce, but it was inedible. The mixed drink that I had was good, but was mostly ice cubes & very small for $12. All in all, I was glad that I didn't invite my friends, as planned. $48 later (plus a 20%) tip, I was very disappointed that I spent so much money on a meal I didn't enjoy. I could've eaten a nice steak for that amount! I picked all of the onions out of the rice, and my dogs seemed to like it. In good conscience, I can't recommend this restaurant. read more

Excellent! Best Pad Thai I have had in quite awhile. But even better was their service. I was trying to find a place to celebrate my wife's 40th Bday and I called about having it there with about 20-25 people. Initially, the hostess said they are closed on Tuesdays but I got a call back from the manager shortly after saying they would open on that Tuesday for us! I wanted to love this place. I had such high hopes. I ordered the lobster and shrimp pad thai for about $27. The serving size of the noodles was impressive, but they were dry. The flavor was good though. Sadly, there were only 3 shrimp and an overly salted lobster tail that had not been trimmed or cleaned to remove all the small tentacles. I couldn't eat the lobster. It was deep fried and way too salty. What a bummer. $27 for just noodles. I'll keep driving to Holly Springs or Fayetteville for good Thai food. Osha Thai and Speedy Rice never disappoint. read more

We ventured to this restaurant because we like to try new foods. And we were not disappointed. We are asians and the palate to go with it. We ordered Fried Calamari, Crab Fried Rice & Drunken Noodle that you could pick the "heat" of 1-5. All 3 were delicious and savory. They serve a generous portion that my husband and I shared and had some leftovers. For dessert, we got the Coconut Cake (a must try). It was not on the menu but is on their website. The owner bakes it fresh everyday. Very creamy, moist but not wet and soggy. We also tried their Thai Iced Coffee and Thai Iced Tea both were creamy and deliciously refreshing. This is the only iced coffee that I have a positive experience with. We went at lunch time. Service was friendly, attentive, prompt and respectful. The restaurant is clean, minimalist and aesthetically pleasing. We highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Ordered two dishes of Pad See Ew, one with added chicken and the second with beef. Just about half of the dish was egg and the beef dish contained egg shell which I bit into. That ended the meal. In my opinion, the dish was very flavorful. Sadly, the chicken was dry and the beef very chewy! We used a coupon from a mailing to order online. They are trying a new online service. I love Thai food and was excited to know one Wa open in Cary. My husband and I went for dinner and we were happy we did. We had spring rolls, drunken noodles, and pineapple fried rice with chicken. Everything was excellent. My one critique would be i ordered my noodles at a spice level of 4 out of 5 and if I had to rate it, it may have been a 1. If they can perfect the spice level it would have been perfect. Other than that flavors were on point. I will definitely be visiting again. Food is fresh and delicious. Pork Dumplings are so good, I crave them and I go back. I've only had Pad See Ew with Beef which was delicious. It's kind of unique because it's like a hearty version than others that I've had, bigger beef, bigger noodles, bigger egg. I hope this place does well because Garner desperately needed some ethnic choices for food. The ambiance is relaxing and they typically have instrumental versions of songs you know, which is nice in the background. I still can't believe l paid over $20 for mushy fried rice. My server was awesome and I don't have any complaints in regards to them. We have eaten Thai food before so had experience will flavors and heat levels, the menu is not expansive but offers a variety of options and also has an Italian choice if you are hesitant of new things . The food was great , fresh , flavorful , and delicious we had left overs to bring home . I have read reviews that the service was slow this was not our experience approx 20 mins from order to eating . The booths were not comfortable needs more seat padding but clean and quiet not too busy .
