Steak taco and VEGITARIAN taco
Rebecca C.

Lots of vegetarian options. Fried Fish (cod) was really good as well. The vegetable taco was seasoned nicely. The steak taco wasn't the most tender but it had a little spice and a good amount of meat. Corn tortillas fell apart a little bit though. Highly recommend the atmosphere. Really nice for taco Tuesday specials (at the bar only).

Mi Vida has nice interior decor & dining areas. Reservation recommended; very crowded during dinner time. Shared a Ponche de Lola pitcher. Ordered from the 3 course menu: - tatanachos (pretty good, portion was huge) - pollo con mole poblano (came w/ rice & beans; super delicious & entree was massive) - churros (not my type, texture was funky) Friend got a complimentary birthday dessert. Overall 4 stars; experience was great.

Had dinner here for the first time, with my daughter, before we went to a concert at the Anthem. The place is really cute inside and there was a good amount of people on a Monday night. We had carne asada tacos and birria tacos, which were delicious and filling. We also had their guacamole and chips. The guac was great but $15 is a little pricey. Our waiter was great, he was attentive and replenished waters without having to ask. Would go back there if in the area again.

We had a large group for dinner last night and Mi Vida did not dissapoint. Eduardo the server was amazing he made sure we had everything we needed. He was very attentive and was on too often everything. The team really enjoyed the food not kne complained about the quality. I have been here many times and they have never dissapointed me. Definitely when visiting the Wharf and you want service, and really good food stop by Mi Vida.

Went during the cherry blossom festival to warm up and had a happy surprise with the food and drinks! Would definitely recommend, friendly staff who also were able to seat and accommodate us in a timely manner when it was so busy

Stopped in Mi Vida for a happy hour drink (and possibly a fish bowl(?)). Unfortunately, they had the fish glasses but not the ingredients to make the drink on question, so simple HH drinks it was. We saddled up at the bar top and enjoyed a few cocktails, while nibbling on chips&guac and chips&salsa. Note: this is a spot that does not offer chips and salsa for free. Overall, nice spot at the wharf for high-end Mexican fare.

Delicious Mexican food with beautiful views of the water. This place is huge with multiple bars and dining areas. Its menu is both vegetarian and gluten free friendly. We enjoyed the appetizers and nachos plus refreshing cocktails. The service was fantastic. The sorbet dessert was delicious. Definitely recommend.

Decided to dine here while absorbing the sunny day. Reservation was made, we arrived a few minutes early and was able to get seated outside. The sun was definitely shining. There were umbrellas out for certain tables to shelter from some of the sun. After awhile employees came by and lowered the shade that assisted with the sun. We ordered our spirited drinks, chips and guacamole, and tacos. Drinks came and the one was very pretty in a fish designed glass. The chips and guac came out reason time followed by our tacos. The tacos and drinks to me were a waste of money spent. The steak taco was filled with plenty of meat but lacked the onions and cilantro that was suppose to be a part of the taco. It came meat and tortilla. The fish taco was tiny and greasy; literally 2 bites. The drink was not a hit either. This will be a one time visit unfortunately. Money wasted.

Paola's service was amazing. I really can't say enough about how attentive and helpful she was. She recommended a fruity, sweet drink that ended up being one of the best parts of the whole experience. The food, though, was hit or miss . The birria tacos were just okay. They were a little dry, and the sauce that came with them had no real flavor at all. The salsa was actually really good and honestly the only thing saving those tacos. But then the chips that came with it completely dropped the ball. They were hard, the texture was off, and just not enjoyable to eat. The ambiance was definitely a highlight. Sitting by the window with a view of the water was chef's kiss.

Celebrated my mom's birthday and really enjoyed the food. The carne and catch all appetizer Un poco de todo that came with HUEVOS RELLENOS, ALITAS, TACOS DORADOS, EMPANADAS DE MARISCOS, PORK CHICHARRONES were both good. I would order the cantaloupe drink and Skirt Steak, Mushroom Cream Sauce, Roasted Poblanos every time I come. The service is kind of rushed but I get they stay crowded and busy. The birthday candle was a very nice touch, great place for celebrations or happy hour if you find yourself at the Wharf.

Our 5 star experience started with the hostess giving us a balcony table overlooking the wharf. The service was incredible. Very attentive staff. All 3 in our party were pleased with drinks and meals. Portions were smaller than we are accustomed to at Mexican restaurants but not skimpy. An appetizer is a good idea. The spicy margaritas really have a kick and great flavor.

We visited Mi Vida for brunch and were honestly unimpressed. The food is okay, but the portions are extremely small and overpriced. Exhibit A is the wings (alitas), they charge $8 for 3 wingettes and they tasted terrible. The other food tasted better, like the shrimp tacos and the burrito tejano, but again the portions were extremely small. The service was also okay. It was good after they first came to our table, but it took a long time to even get water. We've been before and had a better experience, so I won't judge their lunch and dinner. If you're looking for brunch though, I'd recommend somewhere else.

I went to Mi Vida for my friend's birthday and had a really nice experience. I've been here before for lunch, but this was my first time coming for dinner, and the menu had a lot of great options. The food was good overall, but the brussels sprouts were definitely the star of the show they were AMAZING. I also got the crab enchiladas. They were okay, but for me they had a little too much onion and not enough crab, so the onion flavor was a bit overpowering. Even with that, I still enjoyed the overall experience. Our server was delightful, and I really appreciated that they sang happy birthday for my friend, which made the night feel extra special.

You can order it mild, medium or spicy. I found the medium spice was just right. We also like their version of Caesar salad. Like how they added a lot of anchovies. My two favorite dishes to share are the Camarones Al mojo de Ajo Negro- like the Mexican version of Gambas al ajillo and Bistec Con Mole Coloradito- grilled flank steak with excellent mole sauce. Order this medium-rare, sometimes they overcook it if it's really packed. Their tacos are really good, and most are priced $7 each so you can pick and choose. Fish taco was my favorite out of the bunch. I also liked their chicken enchiladas. Cocktail menu is pretty good but their signature margarita drink is a must. We recently tried their Baja Gin&Tonic. It's so refreshing and a great drink. For dessert, save room for the Cafe de Olla. It is so good.

Within 5 minutes another couple was seated at a table next to us (table tops about 12" apart). It had the feeling of eating at a table with strangers. With all the space in the restaurant, why not spread guests out? It was very difficult to have a conversation without feeling that you were sharing content with the neighbors. Additionally, when the waiter served the table next to us his butt was literally an inch or two from my face. Very hard to enjoy a meal when someone's rear is in your face. I simply stopped eating and leaned away. Food came. Tamal Rojo and a chicken taco. Both were rather bland. Asked for Tabasco - didn't have any. Brought house made habanero sauce which helped a lot. Our waitress was sweet and did a good job but just couldn't overcome the environment. In all we were eager to try it out - but quite disappointed in leaving. I can't imagine coming back.

As someone who attends Washington Capitals pretty frequently, I have always wanted to try Mi Vida…read more It is usually always busy, so I made sure to make a reservation with plenty of time. Surprisingly, the restaurant was empty. Just me and my family and one other party. Upon sitting down and ordering our meal and getting our drinks, we were asked to move to another part of the restaurant. At the same time, our appetizers were starting to be delivered. Moving was no problem. The table we moved to was much comfier, however, they sat us right next to the other loud party when the whole restaurant was empty. It would later start filling up, but it was a odd experience. The food was great. Birria is one of my favorites and it was delicious. The queso appetizer was a must and the chicken taquitos were incredible. Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs, but everything was absolutely delicious. I truly could not stop eating, despite being so full. The drinks were also great! I look forward to dining here again during another visit to DC or for a Capitals game.

We stayed for awhile and ordered a lot (for 2 of us) The chips and salsa were complimentary, the dark salsa has a nice smokey flavor to it. We started with the ceviche mixto, it was very lime-y and tastes amazing! The little bits of mango added an elevated flavor that we were questioning at first but glad we went with it. We then shared the 3 street tacos: carne, al pastor, and the last mushroom&pineapple. The meat (and mushroom) were all very tender and flavorful. No complaints, we only wished they had lengua as an option. For our entrees, we ordered the lomo saltado and the duck in guajillo sauce. The lomo saltado was a 8/10, the food was delicious but it was overwhelming with the ratio of vegetables/fries to the meat - additionally the portion of rice was so small compared to everything else. For the duck, it was served on top of mashed potatoes and the skin was crispy and the meat was tender - the guajillo sauce paired well with the vegetables and the duck. 10/10, would recommend. We looked at the desert menu but nothing stuck out, we ended up staying for a while longer enjoying our drinks (which were all good btw) and left right before karaoke night started. At that point the place was very busy, around 8-9ish we decided to leave and go elsewhere for the night. The only real complaint was the authenticity of the "Mexican cuisine". We found more food consistent with Peruvian cuisine instead of what is being advertised. The food and drinks were great, the staff was very helpful and quick, just expect more Peruvian food than Mexican food.
