Sitting outside listening to the live music was amazing. Great ambiance, comfortable seats, altogether very nice. The server was friendly and personable. He attempted to be as attentive as possible, but he seemed to be running everywhere, so my guess is that they were short staffed. All food and drinks were glacially, painfully slow with over an hour between our appetizer and the main course. I got the Mackinac island martini (highly recommend), the potato soup, the half chicken dinner (far too salty), and the fried fruit wontons. My family got pizzas and the beer cheese dip, which they thoroughly enjoyed. The building itself is very interesting; I believe it used to be a bank. While decorated well and trendy looking, there are no soft surfaces and there is a high ceiling so during the dinner rush, the noise was pretty deafening. read more

A little bit hard to notice in my opinion, but this is a good place for some gluten free options. I didn't order much food nor did my partner, yet with only five customers it took nearly 40 minutes to get the food. That being said the food was very good, and their dressing and syrups are super tasty, so I'd say worth it. Star of the visit was certainly the waiter. I hope they get good tips because they made things great. I know we gave them a good one. If you're looking for gluten free in Bay City, this is a no brainer, at least try it out. read more

Very cold food and poor service. Saw our food sitting under the warmer for 25 minutes at least. No water refills and had to call server to table whenever we need something. There was live music and the speaker was up way to loud to hear anything and was kind of out of tune. Had good luck with brunch but won't be visiting again for dinner ever again. read more

Food is fantastic since local- loved the food. Bartender was very knowledgeable on drinks and new twists on standard orders. She was amazing to talk with about food and what MI table stands for.. I would ha e given you a 5 if the hostress hadn't spent 20 min talking to an unmasked patron at the front entry and door- they moved about 6 ft from my party and made me leave before a second round of drinks- the patron was working to find her a date and hire her away- so no loss if she leaves- such a shame to ruin the review by a selfish employee. read more

First timers! SOOOOO SO SO SO GOOD. (= The food & atmosphere was phenomenal!!! We ate outside. I order a BLT with an over easy egg, pickle spears on the side, Mayo & Spicy Ranch (under the top bun), and extra crispy French fries with ketchup. My husband got Avocado toast with sausage and scrambled eggs with a hot caramel latte. OMG. Taste buds soaring. Customer Service was pretty good. Ya know, it's not that it's not a decent place with decent food. To me it's about the value. And that, IMHO, is what's missing. I mean, a small Traverse City cherry chicken salad for $18.00?? Seriously? It's not lobster! A very ordinary pasty for $12.00? Better ones all over the U.P for half that price. A 5 oz. pour of very ordinary, low-end wine for $14.00? I'd put the value at $6 or $7. I'm not of low socio-economic status but to me this place is WAY overpriced. I'd say that although the well to do may not bat an eye at the pricing, they won't be overly impressed with the food. It's not that it's bad or anything, just nothing to write home about as they say. For the price, it was disappointing. The bottom line is that in a place like Bay City, this restaurant will probably have to depend on wealthier clientele to stay in business because I don't think this will be a place with a lot of appeal to "the average Joe." read more

We really enjoyed our brunch here. The ambiance of this place is super unique and fun! The service was good, but it was a little slow. We all enjoyed the coffee and each had brunch cocktails that were 10/10. The food was good, all local which is always good to support but nothing extraordinary about it so the prices felt a little high! We will definitely be back when in town. read more

As anyone who reads my reviews knows I rank on how well an establishment meets my expectations. I didn't have any for MI Table - I walked in cold - so it was easy for them to get a five but it's a cool place and a great concept. I sat at the bar and all I had was a glass of Red wine which wasn't bad for Michigan wine and a charcuterie board which was very generous. The service was great and it's an easy walk from the Doubletree. In fact my bartender Travis is so good they ALMOST named a City in Michigan after him. With a new restaurant in the beautifully finished Legacy Building, there's an expectation of quality. Especially with the restaurant focusing on Michigan's various quality ingredients - I was excited. Yet, MI Table is just short of a great thing. Upon entering, the establishment is nicely presented and spacious - not the finest dining experience, but a fairly contemporary space. Service was tentative on occasion, yet didn't make much haste or effort to be hospitable. We had a 30 minutes wait to seat - fair for Friday night at 6:30 - yet it was about 50 minutes to our table. I ordered the Blackened Whitefish and the wife ordered the Vegan Gratin, which took about forty minutes to service. Upon waiting, I discovered my side plate had dried, old food from a poorly washed plate on it. My wife's side salad had decaying greens throughout: a sure sign of poor quality control in the kitchen. The whitefish was alright, yet the sweet potatoes to pair were cold and unseasoned (a simply chopped, baked sweet potato). The bacon creamed corn was nothing to write home about, a smaller portion of about 4 oz. The Vegan Gratin was good, but definitely not worth ordering at $22 for a rather simple, relatively small vegetable dish. Pros: * Great location * Great restaurant concept of locally gathered ingredients. Cons: * Food needs effort and focus. * Overpriced for the portions, quality, and plating. * Lack of hospitality amongst service staff. read more

What a great atmosphere! An old bank, transformed into a restaurant. While eating, there was live entertainment. That was a plus for me. Our waitress was lovely. The pretzel with cheese was awesome! I got the pretzel breadsticks. It was amazing! Not dense but an airy bread. It was so delicious I had to order another round of it. The second time around, it was overbaked and too salty. Which was disappointing. Then I ordered the stuffed salmon. It wasn't stuffed unfortunately. Pretty plain and bland. I could have made it better. Then for dessert, I ordered the strawberry rhubarb crisp..... I could not eat it. It was watery and very soup like. And whoever made it, threw a few oats on top. Upsetting! I've made apple crisps, pear crisp, and peach crisps before. This was so unappealing to eat. The waitress came to the table and took it off my bill. She even said, this does not look like a crisp does it... it sure didn't. The mixed drinks were watered down as well. I'm giving the restaurant 3 stars. Not positives: Our wait for food was over 50 minutes, and when it came it was severely disappointing. We ordered duck nachos - super gross, exorbitantly greasy and definitely not nachos (nacho dip would have been a better description)... and a pizza - which was okay to meh. Husband also got whitefish chowder which was underwhelming. Fries were average tasting, definitely not worth $4 however. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things. We knew the wait would be a little long because they make their food from scratch, but the things we ordered were surely not the hold up. Love the idea of the place and it's focus on MI food, but this was certainly not a best foot forward kind of night. This place is delicious! We stopped in for breakfast and we're not disappointed. We got the avocado toast and eggs Benedict, delicious. We also had a non meat eater in our group and they were more than accommodating subbing regular meat for beyond meat. Our server was a very nice young man. For Sunday brunch half of us had finished our meals before the others were served, but we were a large group, so maybe not surprising. My first visit at MI Table in Bay City. This restaurant is an old bank that had been renovated and they still have the vault in all its glory! I love the vibe and atmosphere of this place. It has the potential for greatness. We came as a small group and others had been there before. The restaurant is a farm to table influence and "pure Michigan". They have specialty drinks, wine and beer. All Michigan I might add. My phone had died and I was unable to take my own pics but my friends were glad to oblige with taking the shots and sharing their experiences with the food. I have to say I was not that impressed with the food. Our waitress was awesome and eager to make sure everyone was happy, even though we couldn't make up our minds for quite a while. I ordered the white fish sandwich, which was dry and fishy. The fries were excellent. Others ordered the Chicken Pot Pie, which really looked like a stew with several biscuits on top. Although not very appealing to the eye, my friend said that it was tasty. Another ordered the Venison Nachos, which she thought was dry and not enough cheese on top. Cheeseburger and BLT were good! I believe that they may use Spatz bread for their sandwiches. I didn't confirm this but I know the bread and it was crunchy! They have a nice variety of draft beers and Michigan wines. Although they seem to have a full bar-they cannot make some drinks (my mom wanted a Stinger) but she found a Chardonnay that was pleasing. I have heard that this place has ghosts so I was on the look out - - didn't see any though. The place is bright, has high ceilings and very cool decor. I love the Michigan decor-even in our table, looked like Michigan pebbles. My hats off to them for staying open during "Covid" times and am hoping for better things in the future. read more

Stopped here for lunch with my Dad and had a great experience. The restaurant is in a restored old bank building and there is even a little sitting area in the old vault. I had French toast that was ver good($12), and my Dad had sweet potato quiche which had almost no sweet potato but was still yummy. We got the chicken pot pie which was like Campbell soup with extra corn and over seasoned with Michigan shaped dry biscuits on top, with the chicken pieces that look they came from a can. This is my first time visiting MI Table, my experience was nothing less then sensational. I was greeted with a friendly hello and seated quickly. My amazing waiter Travis helped me learn about the menu items and pick an amazing little brunch. My water and coffee stayed full and even tho they continued to get busy the service remained the same. Very disappointed, I had hoped this was going to be the "one". I have purposely waited to try them out figuring they needed time to get into a groove being a new establishment. The place is noisy and chaotic. I ordered the Vegan Curry and my husband ordered a vegan pizza with beyond sausage and a side of seasonal fruit. We waited 45 minutes for this food. The curry looked like it was dumped on a plate from a can. The pizza looked like a cheap frozen pizza from a gas station. It was missing the beyond sausage. The side plate of seasonal fruit was never brought to the table. The pizza was literally a frozen vegan cheese pizza. That's it. Nothing on it. It was smaller then the dinner plate. The bill was $47. I can't put into words the ridiculousness of that. So yeah, save your money. Never again. read more
