I have been wanting to check out this place since I moved from San Diego, CA a couple years ago. My husband decided he wanted to celebrate his bday there so we finally went. I ordered the pork belly bbq and being that I have enjoyed a lot of pork belly dishes in CA, I was really excited to try it out here! However, once I got it...the mashed potatoes were really bland, it look like a baked potato was just smashed on the plate. No seasoning or butter. The pork belly looked like it came out of an air fryer, and while it was cooked nicely, it was not worth over $20.00. My husband and daughter's food looked decent, but was not seasoned very well. The servers who helped us didn't seem to communicate because there was a mix up and they had forgotten my daughter's meal. She just sat here for 15-20 minutes after we got our food. On a good note- the restaurant is really pretty to dine in and I love the wide open space with natural light coming through. read more

After traveling from up north, I stopped part way for an overnight stay in Bay City. MI Table was the first stop and I was famished. Was excited that they had so many toppings for their pizza, including beyond meat and vegan cheese. I'll start by saying the service was pretty good. It was a slow weekday and the server was attentive and trying her best. Unfortunately, they were out of a lot of items, first the champagne/sparking wine I wanted, then mushrooms, and as it turns out green peppers (they subbed red without asking, not a problem for me but could be for others). Then they asked if I wanted the "vegan" pizza crust (now the third time the waitress came back), great call if there was something in the crust to not make it vegan, but I think they were confusing it with GF, which I am not. The crust was find, but more of a store bought crust taste and the vegan cheese wasn't the meltiest, but overall pretty good. I wouldn't expect anything stellar overall, but decent for a quick(ish) bite and a drink. read more

We had a delicious lunch at MI Table! The atmosphere was fun and lively, and they had a musician playing live music for the patrons. We really enjoyed the craft soda flights, and the custom Michigan "mitten" serving board they were presented on was awesome. The bread pudding was also very tasty and filling. Perhaps the chef wants to be creative but the soup is watered down, not creamy, absolutely lacks flavor. COLD. seems like they make batches of these, place on the side then put marinara sauce on it. At least microwave it???? There was outdoor seating with live music. Servers were nice and attentive. The food was not served as ordered. And the caprese avocado toast was more of a guacamole toast. Was very wet and kind of sloppy/drippy. I probably would give it 2.5 stars. The Breakfast entrees were good and were rated 3 stars. Photos aren't the best but give you an idea of the space and good. Overall was a good experience and will try them out again, will order other food next time. Love that the bathrooms are gender neutral, accessible and clean! Big hearts for that. Driving back from a camping trip up North and wanted to find a breakfast stop. Bay City and Mi Table will not disappoint! We came on a Sunday afternoon and checked out a couple of places before deciding on MI table. We were kindly greeted by the hostess who seated us outside. The ambiance! I get twinkles in my eyes! So pretty inside and outside! We opted to sit outside because of the magical area and live music, acoustic guitar to be exact! Our server Brandon was kind and immediately gave us water while we were deciding on drinks. Check out the cocktail menu made out of wood! Beautiful! Off of that menu we decided to go with the Torch Lake coffee and the Marquette Mary. The Torch Lake coffee comes with rum, amaretto, coffee, whipped cream, and almonds. The Marquette Mary is the Michigan version of a Bloody Mary with celery, venison sausage, and olive. Both were yummy choices! For brunch, my husband ordered the Steak Diane and I ordered the quiche and a biscuit. My husband loved the Steak Diane! The quiche was fluffy and fresh and came with diced potatoes. I prefer quiche with my veggies mixed in versus on top, but still great if you like fluffy and fresh eggs! I ordered a biscuit on the side. I was pleasantly surprised that my biscuit was in the shape of Michigan. Sooo stinking cute! It comes with butter. I asked for fresh jam. Options include strawberry, blueberry, and blackberry. After our meal, we got a round of cocktails - mimosa and Bellini. Loved lounging, drinking, and listening to live music. Don't forget to check out the inside. This restaurant use to be a former bank. Really wanted to love this place. It's unique for the area and the atmosphere looks really inviting. The star deductions are this. My burger was way over cooked. Asked for medium well and got a hockey puck. Also, the Bloody Mary was served with some Michigan made vodka. Their pitch is everything has to be made in Michigan to be served there. Get ready for a crappy bar experience. Also, I saw a bottle of Zing Zang on the counter and yet they don't serve it? Lastly, the inviting atmosphere can disappear in their open floor plan. Our wait for the food to arrive was about an hour. There was a large party (20 +/-) that obviously occupied the kitchen staff. Allowing a party that large overwhelmed the kitchen. Personally, the party sized needs to limited. Once the food arrived it was lukewarm. My whitefish sandwich smelled "fishy". My wife's scrambled eggs were runny, the ham was very dry. Not sure if this was a one off experience but, there are other places in Bay City that are much more consistent. We ordered an appetizer of baked feta and it was missing the honey and it was lukewarm. We felt like it wasn't don't cooking. Both the items we originally ordered were out of stock, which was odd because they weren't very busy, so that was frustrating. Once we got our food it was also lukewarm. This place used to be a regular go-to for me, my friends and family. We loved Travis, but sadly he moved on. We continued going cause we love the atmosphere, but after 3 times trying to give another go we've sworn off going in MI Table ever again. The first blonde bartender that greeted me and took my order was friendly, attentive and did a great job. But the second bartender with long black hair was the absolute worst service I've ever had, it's almost as though she has a grudge against us and we've never even met her. My brother and sis in law joined me for a late.lunch and arrived about 15 minutes after me...they were not acknowledged at all, straight up ignored no eye contact, no hello...when we decided to leave we let the blonde bartender know and she mentioned that this is an ongoing issue and why MI Table continues to.lose business and in turn affecting the server's tips. My recommendation to ownership is get rid of the rotten root and let your business and employees flourish...this is such a bummer for us...we've lost our appetite and lunch was ruined. read more

This place is amazing! The building, decor, staff and food are a perfect combination for a successful, wonderful dining experience. We were treated so well by our server, Heather. She deserves recognition for her spunk and enthusiasm for this establishment. She encouraged us to walk through and I'm so glad we did, because we discovered the speakeasy hidden in the old bank vault! If it wasn't 10 am I would be sitting in there with a smooth Manhattan. But let's get to the reason we came in the first place. Breakfast! The appetizers were available all day, and the whipped feta with honey sounded like a good way to start. It was awesome, but my request would be to toast the bread for a little crunch. I ordered the avocado toast and my hubs ordered the breakfast sandwich. Everything was fresh, flavorful and displayed beautifully. I ordered a Torch Lake coffee, which had a nice, almond amaretto liquour and whipped cream. Everything here is farm-to-table with as many local places to spotlight. As a small business owner, I appreciate local supporting local. The food is delicious and it's all Michigan based, it also used to be a bank and there is a bank vault you can enter and explore. But when we ordered they didn't have half the things on the menu and when I ordered a drink it came in a small plastic cup which was filled a quarter way up. We saw our server just standing around most of the time but the service was pretty good. They also had a table made of a grate from the Mackinaw bridge. We waited for our breakfast for over an hour, and when it FINALLY was served, the eggs were so rubbery I picked them up with a fork and put them right back on top of the slop they sat on.
