Carne asada tacos
Kylie P.

Still one of my favorite local spots for street tacos. I definitely preferred their old location by Peterson's donuts, but at least the food hasn't changed since they moved! I always opt for their carne asada tacos and enjoy them every time.

I'm really bummed! Prior to Mi Rancho Market moving, they had the best carne asada but this spot left a lot to be desired. The tacos were still cheap with most under $2.50. This is a small price increase from the previous location. We got a cabeza, al pastor, and 2 carne asada tacos. The best was the cabeza, followed by al pastor, and unfortunately the carne asada wasn't even good. I'm not even sure why / lack of flavor / no char / texture? I've had plenty of carne asada tacos at many other places that were much better. Food came out fast. You can peruse the market to get a drink for your meal. Cheap prices but I miss the old spot.

I forgot about this taco shop since they moved from their previous location, but a quick Yelp recommendation for Taco Tuesday had me cruising here for lunch! I' was very lucky when I stopped in as a massive line formed behind me after I finished ordering. Service was great, and the food was quick to deliver from ordering to taking it back home. Extensive meat options, but I opted for the chicken asado, carne asada and Al pastor. The flavor was so well balanced Among all three flavor. My husband ordered the California burrito and it was stuffed full of meat and potatoes. I would definitely come back again to try the other taco options

Was very excited to try after a few people recommended this place taco Tuesday has very good price for tacos and their agua frescas we're definitely some of the best aguas ! salsa is very good and salsa bar is open for dine in very good got a few tacos and they were ok but as soon as I was done eating and was about to toss my plate I saw a small roach around the salsa bar and if there's 1 there's more it's very unfortunate and a health hazard health inspection I would of loved to leave a great review but I'm honest and I don't like pest near or in my food so no thank You NEVER AGAIN

Adoba Taco & Watermelon Jamaica

A friend suggested to come grab adoba tacos after work for Taco Tuesday. The value was great and the taco itself was pretty decent for being inside a Mexican market. I also tried the watermelon jamaica and really liked it. My friend had the citrus style drink and she loved it. Cozy nice little spot to grab some quick affordable tacos! Service and food came out quickly!

My first time at the newer location and the food is as delicious as ever. I always go for the Al Pastor and Carnitas, but everything is delicious here. I also had a watermelon Agua Fresca....super refreshing, especially when it's 101° outside. I highly recommend.

New location but still as Tasty.

10/12/2023 Good morning my San Diego Foodies Friends. Well I went to Escondido yesterday to check out Mi Rancho Market in their new location and see if Their Street Tacos are still A favorite. Mi Rancho Market 649 W Mission Ave, Ste 10, Escondido, CA 92025 First I'll say the new location is much larger and nicer. The inside is fresh and clean with several seating sections. The Salsa Bar could use some work but it works for now. I used to eat at the old place a lot and always loved the Street Tacos so my fingers were crossed they would still be good. Now for the Food. They have a great selection of Street Food on their menu. I decided to Go For 6 different Street Tacos. #1 was a Lingua Taco. As always it was Super Tender and Seasoned Perfectly. A Favorite for me at this Taco Shop. Recommended. #2 was a Carnitas Taco. Very Tender and Juicy. Also seasoned Nicely. #3 was a Birria de Chivo Taco. Very tasty. (Goat) #4 was a Borrego Taco. (Lamb) Tender and well seasoned. #5 was a Asada Taco. (Steak) Tender, Juicy and Flavorful. #6 went for The Fish Taco. It's a regular sized taco. Nicely Fried with a tasty sauce. Well they were all very good. They are Street Taco Size and most are Only $1.99 each. I wouldn't get the fish taco again not because it wasn't good but because there are much better Fish Tacos in Escondido. I will stop here still now and then for a great Street Taco or Six Nice Tacos For $1.99 Give them a shot if your in the area.

Adobada dry

Went here during covid and got birria tacos, they were tasty. After covid we came back and got birria and adobada, was good. We also got cantaloupe Agua Fresca, soooo good! Now I finally went to their new bigger location, the birria was still good, cantaloupe Agua Fresca was also good but their carne asada was very bland. There was no taste to it. The adobada was just ok also, nothing special. I would still come here for the Agua Fresca and birria but will pass on the carne asada

Chicharron on top and barbacoa on bottom

Cheapest tacos I have found in San Diego so far. I tried 3 of 10+ types offered 1. Adobada are pretty flavorful, the same as al pastor, not sliced off the trompe like I prefer. The trompe is only available on Taco Tuesdays when tacos are even cheaper. Today is Wednesday so we missed out. My buddy devoured 3 which is pretty good for him. 2. Barbacoa is pretty dry and not as flavorful. Tastes ok with salsa from the salsa bar and lemon. 3. Chicharron: not what I was expecting. I thought it would be crispy chicharon- but these were soft stewed pieces of fat. If that is not your thing then I wouldn't recommend. However I was shocked to find that these tasted better then all the rest. Definitely a delicious flavor bomb! If you are ok with the texture of melt in your mouth fat, then try these! I also ordered consomé which is fantastic. Hard to screw it up- beef drippings- mmmmm! Overall a great bargain in a hole in the wall market. I just wish they had alcohol so I could've had a Michelada with the food. Very fast service. Easy parking, plenty of seating inside, clean.

Yum-yum!!

They are open inside and having dine in and take out there's also seating outside.

Do they offer rhe soups daily? How often do they offer rhe soups, such as chivo soup? I went there several.times but only get the soup once.

The shrimp burrito was enough to honestly feed two people. The fries alone were enough to feed 3. There was only two of us to tackle these orders. That being said, you definitely get what you pay for. Sayulitas offers great value for the price. Our total came out to about $42 for all the food. They give a slight discount if you pay in cash. The bolt fries had curly fries, longanisa, guac, cheese and sour cream. Those were my favorite. The flavors blended well together. The shrimp burrito was ok. The rice was hard and old so it was difficult to eat. I would probably recommend skipping the burrito, hence the 4/5. I'm not sure what changed in the kitchen but I pretty bummed on the last 5 times I've gone. I get the California every time I go and add guac for reference, I'm a simple guy. Under-seasoned meat or not enough meat, soggy or dry/stale fries, light on guacamole when added sometimes, missing cheese. The consistency has been really off unfortunately for a pretty simple burrito. My last time I went I ordered the usual California burrito no sour cream add guac, got the burrito and it had sour cream and guac.... But no meat???? It was a big tortilla with sour cream and guacamole only in it lol. I laughed at the mix up and the customer service was great getting a refund (didn't request it they just gave it to me) and replacement burrito. Still decided it was my last time going there after that as even the replacement tasted like the meat had no seasoning on it. Writing this review to hope they turn things around some time in the future, I miss coming here but can't justify spending that much $ for a burrito I'm worried to be bummed about....again.

I won't buy tortillas from anywhere else. Any other tortillas are garbage in my opinion, ruining the meal. There's almost always security outside which brings peace of mind that the employees and factory workers are well looked after, a safe place to work and to shop for basic essentials in addition to their amazing tortillas such as ripe avocados and other produce, hot sauces, dry rice and beans, sweet treats and pastries, a beverage cooler, and I hear their prepared food is good, too.

I've been to Mi Guadalajara in Escondido a handful of times now, and my wife and I keep coming back…read morebecause, overall, it's a solid spot for Mexican food in North County San Diego. It's got that classic, welcoming family-owned vibe that's been around since the '80s, and we always leave feeling satisfied--even if it's not always perfect. The interior is pretty cool and distinctive. Think big, spacious dining areas with vibrant traditional Mexican decor: colorful murals on the walls (some really elaborate ones that give it almost a resort-like feel), solid wood furniture, chandeliers, and that open, multi-level layout that makes it feel grand without being stuffy. It's large enough that even on busier nights, you rarely have to wait long for a table, which is a huge plus. Service is one of the consistent highlights here. The staff is friendly, quick, and chatty in the best way--they remember little things, keep the chips and salsa flowing, and make you feel like regulars even if it's just your third or fourth visit. No complaints there; it's fast, accurate, and genuinely warm. Now, the food: it's always fresh, which I really appreciate--no skimping on ingredients or anything that tastes like it's been sitting around. Portions are generous, and when it's on point, it's really good. We've had some great meals here that make us think, "Yep, this is why we come back." But I'll be honest--there's some inconsistency from visit to visit. The flavors don't always match what I remember from previous times. Sometimes the seasoning is spot-on and bold; other times, it's dialed way back. Our most recent dinner was a perfect example of that. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, hoping for that rich, comforting flavor, but they came out pretty mild--almost under-seasoned, lacking that punch I was craving. The rice on the side was a bit tough and dry, like it had overcooked or sat too long, which made it harder to enjoy. It wasn't terrible by any means (nothing was inedible, and the rest of the plate was fine), but it just didn't hit the high notes we've gotten before. It's frustrating because we've had better enchiladas and fluffier rice here on other trips. That said, the inconsistency hasn't been bad enough to turn us off. The highs are high enough, the atmosphere is enjoyable, the service is great, and it's a reliable option when we're in the mood for Mexican without venturing too far. My wife and I still enjoy it and will definitely be back--we're hoping the next visit brings back that memorable flavor we love. If you're in the Escondido area and want a big, festive Mexican spot with friendly people and usually tasty food, give Mi Guadalajara a try. It's worth checking out!

Gave this place a second try during happy hour and didn't change my mind…read more Service was decent. We were at the bar area this time. Again liked the decor, they need to curate it down a little. Music and better lighting would elevate it so much. We got two different menus and got confused but apparently one was the old menu. Drinks... 6/10. My mangoneada needed more mango and tajin, it needed more flavor. My friends thought their drinks were also just ok as well. One had to ask for more hot sauce for her michelada, they only had tapatío. She said it was bland. Foods also just ok. The birria tacos were the best part, def would order again. Tortilla didn't split, good portion and the consomé was good. Cheese dip tasted like velveta. Nachos with beef were decent. Fried ice cream was not good. I've had this dish many times and it was stale and didn't taste fried. Idk if the cereal was stale or the ice cream was so frozen but it was not good. The salsa that comes with the chips is more of a tomato based and we weren't offered other salsas. We asked and got two others but the flavor was just not there. Paid about 60 bucks with tip for two happy hour items, a mangonada and dessert. Again, if the flavors were there, it would be worth and I would be back. It's such a unique space, easy to get to, plenty of parking, beautiful art in the center portion, they are so close to getting it right.
