This has always been THE place to take people out for Mexican food. Their Tex mex rocks and their authentic is every bit as good. I have not seen the free queso coupons lately but it's worth ordering. The cream cheese enchiladas, mi ranchito sampler, and the tamales are our houses favorites. Hellaaaaa omg so good. Waiter was super nice and mentioned the avocado appetizer and we got it. Holy snap that was like one of the best things I've ever had. So unique, I've never had anything like that. Also got the huevo rancheros. Which was dope!!! And we sat outside and they had fabulous Festive music on. I love it! How is this place rated so high? I couldn't even chew the steak in my fajitas (they didn't even cut the steak in the right direction) the beans were literally the worst I think I've ever had, the margarita was so sweet I could hardly drink it, and I had to cut up my guacamole... with a knife because of how hard the avocado was. read more

I must admit being completely skeptical of this place. I am usually no fan of Tex-Mex style/ Americanized Mexican food, but now I am a fan of Mi Ranchito. It's a nice casual atmosphere, with great chips and salsa (just make sure you ask for the extra hot salsa), great prices, service is on top of it, and very tasty food. The deep-fried tacos are great, enchilada sauce is spot on, nice combo plate specials, and generally just quality ingredients. Consistently good, my favorite after 10 years is still the Cream Cheese Chicken Enchilada.

We really like this Mexican restaurant. One of the things that's great about it is they often have coupons where you can get free Espinaca dip with your chips. (they come in the ValuPak coupon mailer). They serve giant burritos and most people will take some of them home for the next day.The whole family loves the burrito covered with their dip sauce. However, lately I have been trying new things. I really like their Chili Verde enchilladas. Also, they have a two dollar small margarita that hits the spot as well. Sometimes I like to sit on their patio even though it is on a pretty busy and noisy street. Since I wrote this review, we have been back numerous times. I am giving them an extta star as they are consistently good with their food and service. Plus now you can download a valuepak coupon for the free espinaca dip! I hope that deal stays around. In a Town with a lot of Good Mexican Restaurants, this is a Solid Choice. At the time of this review Mi Ranchito is celebrating their 12th anniversary, with seven locations--congratulations! Mexican cuisine is a tough one for me review and compare because, to be honest, a lot of the restaurants seem to have aligned on ingredients, cooking methods, and offerings. So it makes it hard for one to rise above the others. Mi Ranchito is a good Mexican restaurant, serving good food, with a great staff. Definitely stop by for your Mexican fix. I ordered their Fajita Chimichanga ($9.80) with grilled chicken (you can get it with steak), onions, and peppers rolled inside a flour tortilla and lightly fried, covered with enchilada sauce and sour cream. I loved the grilled chicken and veggies--the char gave it an extra umph in flavor. My wife ordered the Vegetarian Burrito ($8.50) packed with broccoli, mushrooms, onions, peppers, zucchini, corn an Pico rolled inside a flour tortilla topped with our signature chipotle cream sauce and ranchera salsa. She loved it and left stuffed. Our kids ordered the Grilled Chicken Fajita ($7), which was served with a side of cheese and two tortillas and a Quesadilla ($5), which was a flour tortilla, filled with cheddar jack cheese. They both gobbled it up and loved it. The kids fajitas ratio of chicken-to-tortilla was perfect because she was able to wrap the ingredients it into a burrito and not make a mess. All entrées, including the kids, were served with refried beans and rice. Go to Mi Ranchito for lunches, dinners, and use them for catering. You will not be disappointed. read more

It was my wife's birthday, so our 2 son's decided to treat her to one of her favorites, Mexican. They have a lot of choices on the menu which makes it hard. Their chips were warm & nice & thin like I like. My wife didn't like the salsa, she felt it was too thick, I thought I was just right, (Goldilocks & 3 bears reference). Our waitress was very knowledgeable & explained several dishes before we ordered. My wife had a coupon for their spinach & cheese dip & it was awesome with the warm chips. The hard part for me was seeing other food dishes come out to diners around us & second guessing what I had ordered. I'm cutting out my alcohol drinking but my wife & daughter-in-law did have a margarita each. I will definitely go back & probably try just ordering blindly as I feel you can't go wrong with any meal on the menu. read more

I've eaten at the Mi Ranchito on North Oak Trafficway and in Lawrence, KS on several occasions and I've been a BIG fan. But the location on 95th St was a big letdown, especially in terms of the food but also in terms of service. Since I was on a roll, I decided to take another suggestion and try the cream cheese chicken enchiladas. The enchiladas are plump with all white meat chicken . And, in case you are wondering, the cream cheese is in the sauce that is slathered over the enchiladas. Along with some sour cream, to create a pleasant tanginess. A couple of slices of fresh avocado, rice, beans, and viola! A meal fit for a hungry lumberjack, but, since I'm not...a lumberjack, that is! I took my leftovers home for a second meal. That's value. Solid Mexican food! Their salsas are awesome! Be sure to ask for the hot and if they don't put it on your table ask for the green Avocado salsa. The chips are thin and crispy and delicious! There's a dirty kitchen smell, and if you walk into the back door, there's slime coming out of the kitchen doors. While the food is okay-ish, the addition of grime was disturbing. I am in town for training so some of my classmates and I decided to stop by. It for great reviews and was crowded. I got the chicken and steak fajita along with a peach margarita. My margarita was delicious and had just the right amount of alcohol and peach. My food was also delicious until I went to pack the rest of my food to go and I found hair in my food. First time eating at the location (this review does not apply to other locations as they are wonderful). Walked in and it smelled like the sewer backed up. I should've left right then. We asked to be seated as far away from the restrooms (thinking that would help). It still smelled but not as strong. We were seated and got our drinks, let our server know we needed a COUPLE minutes to decide on our order. It took at least 20 minutes for our server to come back and take our order. We were about to leave. It was NOT busy, in fact many employees were standing around having conversations- including the manager. As far as the food it was okay-not as good as other locations. The salsa was warm, like it had been sitting out at room temp. Not sure if that's okay or not. When we were done we had to ask for our bill so no we could pay and leave. If you are a driver for any mobile app, be wary of this restaurant. They constantly have slow service, sometimes their machine is down and they won't tell you and you have to find out the hard way after sitting and waiting in the DoorDash pick up area that is designated for you. The older lady at the front isn't pleasant to you and tells you to sit and wait.....and you wait, and wait. I suggested to a manager that they put up a sign to notify drivers if there was a reason for a delay and was brushed off like my opinion didn't matter. I will say that Mi Ranchito has the best wait staff, place is always hopping, decent house margaritas and FANTASTIC Salsa (and it ALL starts with a great salsa.) But the tacos... The shells are thick and dry and have a strange taste to them, not sure if it the oil in the fryer has gone bad or what, but the crispy shells basically suck. Then the ground beef inside is gray and more-than-less flavorless. Again, this WAS my place for a long time and it saddens me to talk trouble on them but just keeping it real. Being a party of one, I was able to walk in and sit at the bar. They immediately served up tasty chips with their two salsas (regular and avocado). Loved the avocado. Jessica, the margarita-making queen fixed me up a drink that paired well with the pork carnitas tamales. It was more food than I could eat, so now I have a second meal for in the coming days. Having gone to Mi Ranchito for about a decade, I can't enjoy other Mexican restaurants the same way. The food is plentiful and delicious while the service is lightning fast. I have what seems like a lifetime supply of espinaca dip coupons at my disposal. And any Mexican restaurant with horchata is an instant winner. Though I have tried to deviate many times, I always come back to the No. 1 combo. It's a perfect two meals if you know how to divide it. Another note: My step-brother works on alarm systems and says that Mi Ranchitos consistently have the cleanest kitchens out of all the restaurants he services. read more
