I go to this place pretty often for lunch when I am in Petaluma. I really like their parklette, it has great atmosphere, and is well constructed, and it really helps create a nice dining space. Despite being on the street - you barely notice the cars. The windows and little plants make it feel rustic. The service is always on point. They are quick to bring out chips, and drinks always come out fast too. The menu is pretty broad, covering all the classic Mexican dishes. The servings are hearty too! Giant burritos that i can rarely finish, and great tacos. I see they do $2.50 tacos on tuesdays right now - that would probably be well worth checking out! Most recently I had a tostada, with carne asada. It was fantastic! One of the best I have had in a while. Lots of sour cream and the guacamole was delicious! It was also a plate-covering giant! Great value for a tasty and reasonably healthy meal! I loved it! If you are in the area looking for some tasty Mexican food - I don't think you can go wrong at Mi Pueblo el Centro! read more

Great spot for a meal or happy hour or even a date. Chips come out quickly as the service is and are plentiful and there is a mild salsa option for kids. The atmosphere is so cute and fun, I loved all the plants on the outdoor seating area. We went when they first opened at 11am and got a taco salad and the beef tacos. The food was perfect . The staff was super helpful and friendly. We also got a Moscow mule and house margarita, both were great! It's a teeny bit expensive but honestly worth it. Will totally go back soon. read more

We've been there many times with our Petaluma family and the food is good solid typical Mexican food with large portions & tasty quesadillas, tacos, tostados, & an especially enchilada plate with 3 different sauces, sliced avocados & a huge cooked vegetable side that was worth the whole meal. The service is efficient & friendly. I recommend this place for families, friends &/or relatives. They love feeding children here. The only downside is, because they are so busy, it is noisy & crowded but the food is worth it. read more

Came here for Taco Tuesdays! Additionally, they have happy hour menu as well. No salsa bar here, but excellent service and they serve fresh chips and salsa. Tacos were spot on. They don't have any grilled peppers, turnips or grilled onions with it. The meat was a bit on the dry side. Quesadilla was also on the dry side, but they provided guacamole with it at least. Food is standard. Above average service. read more

Just ordered through Uber a large grilled chicken with light beans and lettuce burrito. It was a 9 out of 10 burrito. It was so good filled with plenty of chicken and light on pinto beans with guacamole & cheese. This burrito was as good as nearly anyone around that I have found here in Petaluma & in Sonoma County. Excellent job guys. I'll be back soon. read more

Went for lunch Saturday and ordered combo plate including tamale, chili relleno which includes beans n rice. The tamale was all cornmeal, hard, tasteless n boring small amount of chicken. Chili relleno was doughy n a tiny chili inside. Can't really go wrong with beans but rice was also boring with not much flavor. Probably will not return as have tried this restaurant x3 now. Please fix this food. read more

I had the quesadilla. My friend ordered chicken tacos. I wasn't really impressed with the food. I thought it was mediocre. I would've liked more flavor to it. The people were friendly, but not exactly attentive. I had to ask for more water. The inside of the restaurant was very nice but a bit on the warm side the outdoor seating looked quite comfortable. read more

The menu is very diverse and entices you to want to order everything. We stuck to the tacos and ceviche and they didn't disappoint. Service was outstanding. Our server had the best smile and made a mean margarita. The whole vibe of the restaurant was warm and welcoming. They even have a nice outside sitting area. The food came out so fast and the serving size was impressive. We got the carne asada and carnitas as well and it was very good. Great all around experience. Well worth a visit. read more

Really good Mexican plate food and tasty, fresh skinny margaritas. Ordered the enchiladas which were hearty and delicious. Sat outside in the cute, lively, and spacious parklet on a Friday afternoon. Service wasn't great so we had to keep finding someone to ask for water refills, refill on chips/salsa, and to order more drinks. Note that if you pay the bill in cash there is a slight discount. Would recommend if you're in the area looking for yummy enchiladas and margaritas. read more

Great location, good food, okay service. We've been to this location dozens of times since moving to Petaluma and have always enjoyed it. Their meats (for tacos, burritos, etc) are excellent. For sit-down Mexican food, the prices are reasonable, but there are better and cheaper options in town if you don't mind eating outdoors or in your car. The location, of course, is quite central to downtown and easy walking distance from most places. Parking can be tricky, especially during peak times, but we always go straight to the Keller St Garage and just walk a couple blocks - it's much easier than stressing out looking for a spot on Kentucky. Service has traditionally been pretty great but on our most recent trip, it was pretty average - long wait to get our order taken, asking for things (salsa, chips, etc) multiple times, etc. The restaurant was maybe 25% full when we dined so who knows. The kicker is that there is now a 3.5% fee to use a credit card. I'm sure it mentions this somewhere on the menu (we didn't see it and didn't look for it because it's never been a thing before), but the prices on the menu are the CASH prices. Unfortunately, I feel that's quite deceptive. Other restaurants will offer a cash discount but the price shown is the price paid for all other forms of payments. To top it off, the recommended tips printed at the bottom of the receipt are calculated post-sales tax so be aware of that if you use it as a guide to calculate your tip. I love supporting our smaller Sonoma County chains, but pricing transparency is extremely important to me. With other options in town that have better food, are cheaper, have better service, and that don't charge junk fees on top of their menu prices, I think it'll be a while before we visit again. read more

These guys know their way around a kitchen! The service and the food was top notch, so why only 4*? The first table we sat at was so slanted I don't know know how a glass of water could stay on top of it, the second one we sat at was a booth and one side was so narrow one of us had to suck in our tummy! A group of us was in Petaluma shopping and decided to eat somewhere downtown. We found Mi Pueblo el Centro and looked up the reviews. We were greeted and seated quickly even though they were busy. We received water and menus equally quickly. Our wives split a Chile Relleno and enchilada with rice and beans combo. The food showed up nice and hot. The burrito was good but not great. Some of the chicken was really dry but most was good. It's really difficult to keep chunks of grilled chicken moist so the "not great" part was due mostly because it did not have much flavor to it. I could not really find any real spice flavor in that said, WOW. The wives loved their chile relleno and enchilada. I tried the chile relleno and thought it was really delicious. Oh and don't forget to try the small salad on the plate. It was different and really good, just the right amount of sweet/sour flavor. After our meal, a staff member dropped off our check without asking if we needed anything else or wanted dessert. A missed opportunity as I really like dessert. I wanted the flan but they were out of it. Oh well, next time. I would return to Mi Pueblo el Centro when I am in Petaluma. Great service! read more

Over the years, I've had the chance to eat at both Petaluma Mi Pueblo locations, but this one is my favorite. The ambiance is casual with an upbeat, easygoing vibe. Best Nachos and Margaritas!!! No reservations but the wait is never really long- they even sat our party of 14 in under 15 minutes.

Meh. I'm bummed about tortilla real closing. I'm stuck with expensive sub par Mi Pueblo. I'm eating their veggie burrito right now which cost me $17 before tip and it's just so mediocre, it should have been $10, maybe $12. Their food is so average I don't know why so many people go there, it was packed on a Tuesday at noon. So strange. I guess the ambience is nice and the location couldn't be better but that's it. Boo. Cmon Petalumans, we can do better and support the good food, even when it's just a little out of the way or even one block away from convenience read more

Stop by for a quick dinner. Ordered the burrito and the seafood stew. I could not believe how much seafood was in it. Scallops, fish, shrimp, octopus and crab. Two legs and a whole body. The broth, carrots and potatoes were a great combination to the seafood. Super grilled chicken burritos was full of meat. Margaritas had a nice touch with a dried lime. I hope your visit will be as good as ours. read more

We were in town for a street faire and stopped in for grub. Estimate was 40 mins but it took 20 to get a table. Chips were crispy but not salty and the salsa was flavorful but not real chunky. The tacos were super tasty and 2 orders for 1 person would be perfect. The burrito? Oh the bomb! Filled up the wife and there was enough left over for me to fill up. Definitely a worthwhile spot that we will come back to. read more

Great ambiance, very nice outdoor eating, though we did choose to eat at an inside booth, the chips and salsa were good! Lagunitis on tap, though I went with a coors light as they were out of modelo. Ordered a grilled chicken burrito, with added sour cream, was a bit on the dry side, even with the addition of sour cream, there was a sauce topper that was ok. The flavor was good, it was a regular burrito with beans, rice and grilled chicken. My go to lately has been fish tacos, but they did not have an aioli, and I couldn't get myself to eat a fish taco without it . At the end, my friend wanted to get the flan, but they were out of that. Have been going to this restaurant for 20 years. Tonight was great service however they got a to go order wrong. Went up to the counter to fix it and they were so busy worrying about the door dash orders they did not slow down to hear what my request was to change the order. Got the order back came home and all that was done was the food was stuck in a new tin. Order macho burrito and no ranchero sauce, no extra sour cream, no extra ranchero sauce. Just a dry burrito. The one that was wrong had sauce on it, pico and sour cream. Called to let them know and I felt the guy got offended. I said you all are going also fast that maybe slow down for others and listen more carefully and who just spent $200.00 to eat there. Will continue to go there, just was disappointed. read more
