I've been a loyal customer of this bakery for a long time and usually enjoy their pastries, but my recent experience was really disappointing. I placed an order for two dozen pastry cupcakes to bring to a reunion, and when I opened the box, more than half were completely crumbled. When I went back to the bakery and showed clear photo proof (as shown in my attached pictures), the owner didn't really seem to believe me. They suggested the damage was probably due to my transportation, but that doesn't make sense -- the cupcakes stayed in their box, in my car, going straight from point A to point B. There was no rough handling, and honestly, transportation shouldn't cause pastries to fall apart like that. It felt more like they were just poorly made. In the end, all they offered me was less than half of what I've paid, which felt really unfair considering the condition of the order and the lack of accountability. Based on this experience, I wouldn't trust this bakery for large orders or special occasions. The quality control and customer service were extremely disappointing. I don't blame the ladies working there though, I felt bad they had to be the messages between the owner and I. Such a shame since this bakery is a daily staple for my home. read more

The fact that this isn't rated 5 full stars, or by more than just a few people, tells me I need to stop what I'm doing and move here. I've never been to a Mexican bakery, or really had much authentic Mexican food available to me, but we'd been staying in the area for a few weeks. One day after a very long morning, we saw this bakery and made the very rookie move of walking in absolutely starving. Neither of us had the other to talk us down, we grabbed a tray and just started piling things onto it. We managed to stop ourselves at six pastries, but still with a sense of remorse, not having planned on spending so much money on baked goods. They rang us up and charged us $11.12. We walked out of there with a bag about as heavy as any meal we'd ordered wondering if they've made a mistake or if these are just garbage pastries we just bought. The pricing just felt unrealistically low for what we got. We took the goods home and ate them throughout the day, and into the next. Not a single complaint. In fact, why is this place seemingly not so big a deal? I think we made a scene with our excitement as we walked in and made a few laps, deciding what to get. We went to a lot of places and found a lot of great food while in the area, but I think this place was the most exciting find. We left on Easter Sunday, and figured we'd give the place a try. They were open! This time we knew we'd never have another shot at this place so we went all out. Ten pastries (each one better than the last), two tamales, freaking $15.48. We absolutely fail to see what the not-so-big deal is about this place. Maybe it's par for the course for the area, or for Mexican bakeries in general. But if all you know is $2-3 per item starting price for mediocre baked goods, make sure to stop here while you're in the area and go nuts. read more

This is a delicious bakery super close to Cheverly. My husband and I finally stopped in after living a few minutes away for over a year, and we are so happy we did. We have had donuts (on the weekend), cheese danishes, muffin and a flan. Everything is delicious and really affordable. read more

I really like all their products. Fresh and good. I come in often with my boyfriend to buy tamales de elote and pan dulce. We recently went for a late night run to buy tamales de elote and let me just tell you the afternoon/night workers are very rude and unorganized. We walked in and saw probably 7 customers inside. the lady at the cashier told us to wait outside. After about ten minutes of waiting we saw two couples leave. We go in and the same lady told us only one per family can come in -_- when we had just seen two couples leave and a mother with two children still inside. RUDE. Maybe they should control the amount of people that come in before it gets crazy and then take it out on the regulars. read more

I've had two different desserts from Mi Pueblito and both have been delicious. My review is not 5 stars for two reasons: (1) the prices, while fair, are not a spectacular value; and (2) the labeling of the numerous desserts available could use improvement. Regarding the latter, I'd estimate that about half of the desserts are labeled. For the other, the staff sometimes knows what they are, but other times they do not. The situation is both a testament to the creativity of the pastry chef--the offerings change almost on a daily basis--and a bit odd. I'm really happy this place opened, I wish them continued success, and I intend on making this my go-to place for special-occasion desserts. read more

Very friendly service, nice and clean establishment... They have a variety of desserts and different things each day. They offer fresh coffee, instant coffee etc.. The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars, is that their Tortas are not fresh tasting, very disgusting. Yuck, hopefully they won't serve anymore until they get it right.
