It is one of the best mexican places you'll find in the area, and if you're looking for birria tacos, you'll find QUALITY ones at Mi Parrilla. The only knock I have is that the space can be a little tight with the amount of tables, so it isn't extremely comfortable, and the service is just decent. My partner and I are considering this place to be our go-to restaurant for Mexican food in Fort Wayne! As an avid lover of Mexican food, my boyfriend has been searching high and low for a place that he can frequent for a good meal. Mi Parrilla is an easy place to drive by without ever stopping. The building is set off the busy Clinton street. The building doesn't grab your attention very quickly as you are speeding down that fast street. However, it really is easy to get into and out of their parking lot. Inside the building is relatively small. I'm guessing they can serve about 70 patrons. The decor has a very traditional Mexican flare. Bright and attractive colored chairs and walls are predominant. The building is clean and good repair even though it is an older & small building. I found that the tables for four were very tight and somewhat uncomfortable. Upon arrival you are greeted by lots of people. The place is small so hosts and servers are right on top of you quickly. The "outside" editing room is not very attractive. The team, on this day, were very friendly and welcoming. They all spoke excellent English. Our waiter was very good about coming back to the table for refills and make sure we are satisfied. The chips are a little thicker and crunchier than you would normally find. You can tell that they are freshly made. They only had a slight taste of grease to them. The chip has a more predominant corn taste. At times I thought the chip was over cooked and too hard. The salsa is moderately thick and served with a slight chill. It has a nice mild tomato taste without being too spicy. The sauce sticks to the chip nicely and helps the tough/thicker chip. Overall very good! I ordered the Enchiladas Supremas. The mole sauce is excellent - mild taste, moderately thick and creamy. The beef, chicken and pork meats were very moist and tasty. Often many places the beef will have very little flavor and taste like a bland ground beef. Mi Parrilla does an excellent job at making the ground beef taste like beef. The chicken and pork were very moist and tender. It was easy to cut in the enchilada. The lettuce and tomato toppings were also fresh. This dish was excellent! This place was amazing. I didn't have high hopes when we first pulled up but it was AMAZING. I got their tacos and they were so stuffed with meat it was crazy. $13 for tacos that were STUFFED. Now typically I'd dissuade him from any Mexican food north of the Texas border however we struck gold a few times and thought, I'll turn to Yelp for luck. We found Mi Parrilla on Yelp and our taste buds are happy! We tried a few dishes. Our favorites? The green cheese enchilada and carnitas. The red enchilada was tasty but not your typical red sauce so it may not appeal to true enthusiasts. Of note are there corn tortillas, they were fantastic and reminded me of homemade. Delicious! My burrito was super tasty and the steak was amazing! The chili sauce they put on the burrito was flavorful, I had them put it on the side though. I am glad I did because they have me a lot when I had them put it on the side. I would definitely come here again for dinner. The margarita though was not my favorite. It tasted watered down and not like a margarita. Tasted just like beer. I know it was a beer margarita but it no margarita flavor to it. It was like having a beer with mango flavor. Update. Food was amazing. Service sucked. Iced tea doesn't get refills and only one refill on the sodas. For $3 a pop I expect unlimited on both. Also got the Fideo soup. Very bland and flavorless don't recommend. But our nachos were Flupping amazing. Beef and bean nachos and the ultimate nachos. Loaded with three kind of cheese seasoned ground beef and beans. I love Mexican food and certainly I needed to try this place due to its number of stars. I would say that food taste is great. I can certainly see that this is a family run place with an authentic Mexican chef preparing all the dishes. Whenever I try a new Mexican restaurant I taste their flavor by ordering 3 of the most typical dishes: taco de carnitas, barbacoa and steak. I can tell you that the barbacoa was one of the best tastes I've tried in the US. Carnitas were also not only delicious, but cooked to perfection and not dry. The steak was also good but certainly my favorite dish from now on will be the barbacoa. I will certainly buy a couple of pounds for a Sunday breakfast. Their service was also good but I have to admit, it was slow. I understand because most of the dishes have to be prepared from scratch, but for tacos it was kind of a long wait. But which restaurant is not struggling in this due to lack of personnel and most of purchases done online or for carry out. Food arrived 3 minutes later so that improves the mood :) chicken burrito is very full, enchilada was ok cheese wasn't fully melted. The tostada was the best part is the meal, over the top covered in ground beef lettuce and cheese, Taco was a let down. Shell was stale. Rice and beans were both bland no flavor, chips were decent clearly not homemade. Salsa was good, a little heat but not overly spicy. As good as the meal was I would not recommend you going out of your way to stop by. If you are in the area and want decent Mexican for a reasonable price stop in. read more

First of all, we were sat and no one ever came to take our order, and they were NOT busy. After about 15-20 minutes , the host finally noticed and came over and took our order. We ordered the chicken, steak, and shrimp fajitas for 2. Not only did it completely lack in flavor but it consisted mainly of chicken. There were a few slivers of steak and 2 pieces of shrimp and there was no shredded cheese. Our server/host NEVER came back after the food was dropped off therefore we had to go ask for to-go boxes and the check ourselves. We wanted to get dessert and we asked someone if they could get our server or just get it for us, but she never did. So unfortunately we left very disappointed and we will never return. The chips were tasteless and just this side of stale. The pico de gallo was made with pickled jalapeños and slightly mushy tomatoes. It was an act of God to get the waitress to bring anything, while other wait staff stood around doing nothing. A drunk patron moved around to three different tables in the time of Covid and sat and stared at a young woman and her children and chatted with them. I couldn't wait to get out of there! Bland, I don't think they used any salt at all. The chorizo was cooked to death, and low quality. The salsa was tomato water, I specifically asked for salsa picante. The sope was ok at best. Tasteless beans, and no cotija, or even queso fresco, and sour cream instead of crema. The gordita was alright, the outer texture was nice. Huarrache was forgettable, and once again, bland. Haven't tried the pambazo yet, hopefully it has some flavor. But this is Fort Wayne, and I know what you all really care about, yes, portions are excessive, which explains why such cheap, and poorly made ingredients are used.
