My wife's family lives in Fort Wayne and we always love coming here. It is one of the best mexican places you'll find in the area, and if you're looking for birria tacos, you'll find QUALITY ones at Mi Parrilla. The restaurant is very well-decorated and is clean for the most part. The only knock I have is that the space can be a little tight with the amount of tables, so it isn't extremely comfortable, and the service is just decent. If you don't care about those things, and just want solid food, this place is definitely a 5-star. read more

My partner and I are considering this place to be our go-to restaurant for Mexican food in Fort Wayne! As an avid lover of Mexican food, my boyfriend has been searching high and low for a place that he can frequent for a good meal. After trying a few other places, we decided to try Mi Parrilla on a whim after a long day at the local zoo. We walked into a lively interior, with ample seating and comfortable booths. Our waitress was friendly and prompt with checking on us before and after we ordered, and we were quickly settled in while waiting for our meals. I haven't had a lot of experience with Mexican cuisine, but I love birria and wanted to try that here; as for my boyfriend, he got a chimichanga. We were immediately impressed at the portion sizes when the food came out - everything looked amazing! And honestly, these are the best I've had so far. They were crisp, filled with meat and cheese, and so flavorful. My partner was also very satisfied with his food, saying that this would probably become his favorite spot in town. We'll definitely come back to try more of their enormous menu! read more

Mi Parrilla is an easy place to drive by without ever stopping. The building is set off the busy Clinton street. The building doesn't grab your attention very quickly as you are speeding down that fast street. However, it really is easy to get into and out of their parking lot. Inside the building is relatively small. I'm guessing they can serve about 70 patrons. The decor has a very traditional Mexican flare. Bright and attractive colored chairs and walls are predominant. The building is clean and good repair even though it is an older & small building. I found that the tables for four were very tight and somewhat uncomfortable. Upon arrival you are greeted by lots of people. The place is small so hosts and servers are right on top of you quickly. The "outside" editing room is not very attractive. The team, on this day, were very friendly and welcoming. They all spoke excellent English. Our waiter was very good about coming back to the table for refills and make sure we are satisfied. The chips are a little thicker and crunchier than you would normally find. You can tell that they are freshly made. They only had a slight taste of grease to them. The chip has a more predominant corn taste. At times I thought the chip was over cooked and too hard. The salsa is moderately thick and served with a slight chill. It has a nice mild tomato taste without being too spicy. The sauce sticks to the chip nicely and helps the tough/thicker chip. Overall very good! I ordered the Enchiladas Supremas. The mole sauce is excellent - mild taste, moderately thick and creamy. The beef, chicken and pork meats were very moist and tasty. Often many places the beef will have very little flavor and taste like a bland ground beef. Mi Parrilla does an excellent job at making the ground beef taste like beef. The chicken and pork were very moist and tender. It was easy to cut in the enchilada. The lettuce and tomato toppings were also fresh. This dish was excellent! I would encourage you to give Mi Parrilla a try! I'm certain you will find the food to be outstanding!! read more

While in town for a hockey tournament, my youngest said he needed a burrito. Now typically I'd dissuade him from any Mexican food north of the Texas border however we struck gold a few times and thought, I'll turn to Yelp for luck. We found Mi Parrilla on Yelp and our taste buds are happy! We tried a few dishes. Our favorites? The green cheese enchilada and carnitas. The red enchilada was tasty but not your typical red sauce so it may not appeal to true enthusiasts. Of note are there corn tortillas, they were fantastic and reminded me of homemade. Give it a try and my personal music recommendation would be Vicente Fernandez on the juke box. read more

This place was amazing. I didn't have high hopes when we first pulled up but it was AMAZING. I got their tacos and they were so stuffed with meat it was crazy. $13 for tacos that were STUFFED. The service was good, I wish they would have brought us out another basket of chips but it was good. I highly recommend this place and it also shows to not judge a book by its cover read more

Delicious! My burrito was super tasty and the steak was amazing! The chili sauce they put on the burrito was flavorful, I had them put it on the side though. I am glad I did because they have me a lot when I had them put it on the side. I would definitely come here again for dinner. The margarita though was not my favorite. It tasted watered down and not like a margarita. Tasted just like beer. I know it was a beer margarita but it no margarita flavor to it. It was like having a beer with mango flavor. Not something I would get again but glad I gave it a try. Next time to drink I want to try their horchata!!! read more

Lots of parking. Great Location. Great prices. Tamales were hot, fresh, and packed with meat! Amazing Salsa! The Menudo was so hot and fresh that it took 10 minutes to cool off! Waitress was very nice and helpful! The only thing I did not like was the margarita. No flavor at all and very week! read more

Update. Food was amazing. Service sucked. Iced tea doesn't get refills and only one refill on the sodas. For $3 a pop I expect unlimited on both. Also got the Fideo soup. Very bland and flavorless don't recommend. But our nachos were Flupping amazing. Beef and bean nachos and the ultimate nachos. Loaded with three kind of cheese seasoned ground beef and beans. Served piping hot and no grease at all. They were sooo good and sooo big two people could hate. Good pricing for them as well. I would go back just for the food but drinks and service need tending to. We sat outside on the patio it was a perfect night. read more

I love Mexican food and certainly I needed to try this place due to its number of stars. I would say that food taste is great. I can certainly see that this is a family run place with an authentic Mexican chef preparing all the dishes. Whenever I try a new Mexican restaurant I taste their flavor by ordering 3 of the most typical dishes: taco de carnitas, barbacoa and steak. I can tell you that the barbacoa was one of the best tastes I've tried in the US. Carnitas were also not only delicious, but cooked to perfection and not dry. The steak was also good but certainly my favorite dish from now on will be the barbacoa. I will certainly buy a couple of pounds for a Sunday breakfast. Their service was also good but I have to admit, it was slow. I understand because most of the dishes have to be prepared from scratch, but for tacos it was kind of a long wait. But which restaurant is not struggling in this due to lack of personnel and most of purchases done online or for carry out. Next time I come I'll make sure I have nothing plan for the rest of the day so I can enjoy my tacos with a good Mexican beer! Salud! read more

The other 4.5 stars for me. Wish I looked harder their health score is a 45/100. Arrived at 6:45 was told to sit where I like, took drink order immediately. Returned with my water at 7:05. Places order I decided to try the gamut, the 4 day combo. I ordered a beef hard taco, been tostada, chicken burrito, and a cheese and onion enchilada. Food arrived 3 minutes later so that improves the mood :) chicken burrito is very full, enchilada was ok cheese wasn't fully melted. The tostada was the best part is the meal, over the top covered in ground beef lettuce and cheese, Taco was a let down. Shell was stale. Rice and beans were both bland no flavor, chips were decent clearly not homemade. Salsa was good, a little heat but not overly spicy. As good as the meal was I would not recommend you going out of your way to stop by. If you are in the area and want decent Mexican for a reasonable price stop in. read more

The food was delicious, nice atmosphere. I had the arroz con pollo, and absolutely loved the rice here. Friendly service..

Fast service. Delicious food. Barbacoa Gordita is the way to go. The steak in the steak chimichanga is not great, so I'd ask if you could sub in Something else. I'd eat here again for sure. read more

Ordered via delivery service. Theses seafood enchiladas were awful (and I use the word 'seafood' extremely lightly). The enchiladas were comprised of mainly imitation crab meat and onions. Upon searching, I did stumble across a salad shrimp or two and a couple pieces of diced tomato. These were flavor-less and overpriced. I was sorely disappointed. read more

First of all, we were sat and no one ever came to take our order, and they were NOT busy. After about 15-20 minutes , the host finally noticed and came over and took our order. We ordered the chicken, steak, and shrimp fajitas for 2. Not only did it completely lack in flavor but it consisted mainly of chicken. There were a few slivers of steak and 2 pieces of shrimp and there was no shredded cheese. Our server/host NEVER came back after the food was dropped off therefore we had to go ask for to-go boxes and the check ourselves. We wanted to get dessert and we asked someone if they could get our server or just get it for us, but she never did. So unfortunately we left very disappointed and we will never return. There are better Mexican places to go anyway with much tastier food and much better customer service. read more

I seriously think their El pastor tacos are the best in the city. Their rancheros tacos are a close second. I've been to almost every Mexican restaurant in Fort Wayne. This is the place I go every time now. They do need to get real margaritas though! read more

Terrible service, which is sad because I really liked their food. I put in a phone order and when I went to pick it up, 1 of 2 items were not the correct food item. I kindly let the lady know and she refused to remake the correct item, arguing I ordered incorrectly (which I did not). I was trying to be polite but at the end of it, I told her just cancel it. I will sadly not be coming back. :( read more

Not a ton of options for a vegetarian. Having said that, I ordered the chilaquiles without meat and it was terrific. Chips and salsa were good but if you like spicy salsa just ask for a side of that and they can give you a spicier one. Queso was solid. Our server was very sweet and checked on us several times to make sure we were doing well. Portion size was massive as well!! Definitely planning on coming back sometime! read more

Food is always awesome, portions are large and the service is great. Would definitely recommend checking this place out!

Best Mexican food in fort Wayne hands down. Don't put any stock into the review that said there health department score was 46 . Very good! Was looking for a different Mexican place while passing through town, when we came upon this place. It was open and offered dining in during the COVID 19 pandemic. We tried to go to two other taco places, but they were only open for carry out and we'd come from an hour away. So we tried this place. We both wish we hadn't wasted the calories. The chips were tasteless and just this side of stale. The pico de gallo was made with pickled jalapeños and slightly mushy tomatoes. It was an act of God to get the waitress to bring anything, while other wait staff stood around doing nothing. A drunk patron moved around to three different tables in the time of Covid and sat and stared at a young woman and her children and chatted with them. I couldn't wait to get out of there! The only saving grace is that the taco meats were moist and flavorful, especially the Campechano, which was a mix of beef and chorizo. read more

Ordered at 4:53 and told 20 to 30 minutes. Show up at 5:22 and told still have 3 tickets ahead of us. Ask how long and he says he doesn't know. Go back in at 5:42 and told it still isn't ready. Pointed out it had been almost an hour since we ordered. He says...computer say 5:1, show him my phone log that say 4:53, he says that isn't what the computer says. So apparently it is my fault that whomever is answering the phone and taking orders is waiting 20 or so minutes to put it in the computer. Then they are rude. We have supported this local small business for years. But I think whomever is there now are awful business people. Save your money there are way to many good authentic Mexican restaurants in the Fort to waste a penny at this now poorly run one. read more

Best Mexican in FW, by far. Also priced too low, it is a bargain. The only reason we go anywhere else is better outside seating. The chicken dishes are never overcooked...who likes tough chicken. It's a gem. Servers always an adventure..in a cute way. It seems we always get a new person but we don't mind very polite and friendly...always good for a laugh. The margarita pricing is a mystery.
