I came here with my family because we heard such good things about this place. To my disappointment, this place was mediocre. For a mexican restaurant this places lacked flavor, they did not have the drink I wanted from the menu and the quesadilla my mom ordered was made of generic flour tortillas instead of hand tossed corn tortilla. Not to mention the waitress was bad. I wont be coming back again.

Excellent authentic Mexican food. The plates are made fresh. The size of the plates are huge that two people can eat from them specially the Machete plate. The place don't look too fancy but it's worth the food. They are very creative with the drinks. They are a must try.

I came to this location because of the amazing things I've heard about it. However, as soon as I arrived I immediately regretted my decision of coming, the menus were just regular takeout ones (which were also dirty) and there was a group of already drunk people obnoxiously singing loudly, no one said anything to them. Our waitress was ok, but she neglected to check up on us so I had to call her over which was a nuisance, she wasn't busy at all she was chatting with a customer. The food itself is ok, I ordered the breaded chicken and it was pretty decent, the rice however was horrible I only took one bite and it's all I wanted. The carne asada is very good, I'd recommend getting that instead. Maybe one day I'll give this place a second chance, but for now I'm good

wow what a pleasant surprise. outside it doesnt look like a restaurant more like a Mexican store but when you walk in there are tables and very cool decorations. i came here with my family on a sunday it wasnt too busy but it does seem to get busy as the day goes. the food portions are huge if you get the machetes or the quesadillas. they do have average portions if you dont get the oversize options but honestly just pick the bigger option. i had the quesadilla with steak and all through the entire meal it was delicious. they are not cheap with what they put into the meals and everything has great flavor! Now to the drinks, what can i say they are a bit over the top but in a good way i loved the decorations and extra things they put in there drinks. Everything has great flavor and affordable. i will for sure keep coming back even though its a bit of a trip from Manhattan to deep queens.

So this place is like all the hype is about it…read more Very good service Very clean The food is different and very quick , tasty and leaves you wanting more . Position are a bit small for a whole in the wall like this and prices are high especially on the tacos but that's because the quality seems really good and fresh and effort put into it. I will definitely try to come back And come early no reservations have to wait in lines cold or warm you will have to. Maybe they should open another spot or expand but that's their business .

Came here on a Friday night and was seated immediately, but the place was busy! By the time we…read moreleft, there was a line waiting to be seated. The menu is entirely in Spanish but the waiters can help if needed. We ordered the Gobernador taco, a half dozen shrimp, the regular guacamole and the aguachiles verdes. The Gobernador was a large size - really more like a mini quesadilla than a taco in my mind. It was flavorful and filled with seafood. The half dozen shrimp were cooked well, but a little hard and messy to peel. The guac was good, a little oily but tasty. The aguachiles were really good but borderline too spicy for me. The spice continued to build as I ate them and it did feel less enjoyable but it was good to start. My main grievance with this restaurant was how loud it was. I was yelling and struggling to hear what my friend or the waiter said, but the food was delicious. Maybe if it were less crowded it would be ok, but definitely not a great atmosphere for having a conversation.

This is one of those places that u may not notice since there is so much around the area, one day…read morewe decided to give it a try. They offer a different special for any day of the week, first time around on a Thursday Margaritas special , Tamarind & Mango nice big glass great margaritas, good tasty & nice & strong They start u off with some cake pieces, has a banana bread taste very good. Apps , we tried the Tostones con Birria very good great tasting meat & Chorizo Mac & cheese , also very good. Main dishes , Al pastor tacos & Chicken Burrito were both very good. Next time we stopped by for brunch, we got the bottomless option tried the Sangrita white, good sangrita price wise makes sense assuming u drinking more than 3-4 glasses a person. On the food Carnitas Benedict & short rib hash were both very tasty. For dessert gave the Tres Leches a try not bad, just the right amount of sweet. Another brunch visit & we tried Paloma spritz, good & Mexican coffee, pretty strong in taste. Chicken & waffles topped with bacon, very good chicken good combo dish. & the Lady's enchiladas great taste the enchiladas w the green sauce & cheese on top. Good size restaurant, small bar area towards the back, simple but colorful decor. Service overall has been good, they are attentive. Reasonable prices & u get a decent amount of food. This place has been around for some time, happy we discovered it recently overall good vibe, food & drinks, we will continues to visit from time to time.

After having dinner, my friend and I were walking around when we came across "Ruta Oaxaca Mexican…read moreCuisine." Ironically, earlier while trying to decide where to go for dinner, I had sent this restaurant to my friend but we ended up going somewhere else and came here for drinks afterward. The drinks were really good! We tried the "Sexy Oaxaca," which consists of 7 Misterios Doba-Yej Mezcal, Cointreau, grilled pineapple, mint agave, fresh lemon, and warm salt. This drink takes your taste buds on a ride. It starts off light and refreshing with the mezcal throughout, then finishes with a smoky effect from the pineapple since it's lit. It was really good!! I also tried the "VIP Old Fashion," made with Patrón Extra Añejo, Nixta corn liqueur, Angostura, and orange bitters. This was also good and was smoked prior to being served, giving it a smoky aftertaste. It's definitely a drink you sip slowly. Although we arrived about an hour and a half before closing, the waiter was very polite and professional. They also didn't rush us out once it was closing time, which I appreciated. There were other customers still there enjoying themselves as well. I will definitely be back for dinner. I'm very curious to see what the food is like. I really enjoyed the drinks.

Nothing bad, but I felt like it could've been a bit better overall. The food was good though, I ordered the mixtos tacos, which let's you pick three different tacos from the menu. It was around $23, which is a little pricey. But the tacos were a decent size and definitely filling. My favorite thing I tried was the chori queso. I never had it before and it was honestly the standout dish for me. I would order that again. I also tried the enquites which is street corn. It had a bit of a burnt taste. I know some people enjoy that smokey flavor, but it really wasn't for me. Overall, it was a nice time and for some of the dishes too.
