I ordered a custom dish called vaca bandida and it was delicious! My only wish was for more cheese!

Gross. Went for Dinner. Dried hard cold rice. I cant believe they put that hard rice on our plates. Extremely salty guacamole. I had the fajitas that were bland and my husband had the enchilada that were like unsalted ketscup with bland cheese. It was so nasty he sent it back and didnt even want anything else. I like Mi Mexico. I know there's better out there but it's safe, close, and homey. Prices aren't bad food is good. The only gripe I have about the new restaurant is the attire. I like the old look of black slacks and a t-shirt. They tried to make it a little "classier" by doing black slacks and a white button down shirt. I like the old laid back feel. Lots of food for the price. Wished the Salsa was better, but overall not a bad lunch spot and food is served quickly.

I don't recall having ever had a bad dining experience at any of the Mi Mexico locations. I can't make the case that their menu is above average, but I just love this cuisine and will continue to gravitate to Mi Mexico anytime the mood prevails or the opportunity presents itself. Have been there quite a few times through the years, but last night was bad. Sat there for at least 10 minutes with no one coming to take my order. The crowd was light with plenty of waiters doing little. Then they sat two people in a booth next to mine and they were waited on in less than a minute. I got up and left. read more

Best pico de gallo in town- and pico de gallo is one of my fields of expertise. Food is good. Standard Americanized Mexican food sort of stuff. Service has always been wonderful. Their tamales aren't outstanding but everything else I've had was pretty good. read more

Our waiter took our order and we literally never saw him again until we asked someone else to get our check. We could of left without paying because no one was at the register for 15 mins. I ordered a jumbo Margarita, chimichanga, and a chili relleno. I asked the server what the relleno was stuffed with. He said cheese. I said cheese was good but some restaurants use a potato mix and he said they use cheese. Again I said cheese was good. Got the relleno and it had a potato mix. Still, pretty good chile. Beans and rice were typical of most mexican restaurants. So really my only complaint was the single shot of tequila in my jumbo Margarita and the server that didn't know the menu . I would be willing to try the food again but will demand a drink worth the price. read more

Our family visits this restaurant often. We always have excellent service and the food is always perfect! They have the best queso In Lexington, its never bland like so many other restaurants. Their margaritas are excellent. Their chicken fajitas are always seasoned properly and the vegetables in the fajitas are caramelized to perfection! This is one of few Mexican restaurants that have the PERFECT fajitas. I highly recommend them! read more

Very disappointed in there marketing procedures, Been going there for years and was happy, Went last week and read the fine print and found out they charge a dollar more for things on weekends. I think that is wrong, If I owned it I would be more optimistic and offer a dollar off during the week as a week day special. This would accomplish the same thing instead of making you feel like you are being punished by showing up on the weekend and having to pay more for the same thing. I might over the years have been to this restaurant about 50 times but now over a dollar I may never go back. If you go I recommend you go during the week to cut down on their bottom line. Or take the dollar out of the tips also tell them why and maybe that would finally send a message to the owners when the staff starts to complain. read more

This place is the best. I know the reviewer before mentioned the roaches. Ummm...yeah...true. But if you've been in the restaurant service industry, you know that's it's not about whether or not you have bugs in your restaurant...it's about whether or not you get CAUGHT with bugs in your restaurant. Yeah, roaches...gross. But honestly, when a restaurant gets caught with something like this, they have to make it extremely pristine to reopen....which they did. I can only assume this will keep them on their toes from now on, and it will probably be cleaner and more sanitary than most local restaurants around town. The service is usually great. The best server, hands down is Nestor, and he always is so kind to our children. He always makes an effort to come see them and talk to them, and they absolutely love him. We are eager to see the new restaurant open, because we have been going to the other Mi Mexico restaurants (now Pepe's), and while they are decent, the food is not nearly as good. The food is absolutely DELICIOUS at Mi Mexico, and their cheese dip is the best! read more

The margarita that I had was very good. The meal on the other hand, was just okay. The cheese chimichangas tasted like they were frozen & just heated up. The people that work there were extremely nice & I have no complaints about them at all. The atmosphere, look & cleanliness of the restaurant was exquisite. We just left after being told that a party of 6 couldn't have more than 2 salsas without being charged. Then as we are leaving we were told we had too much salsa. All this and the server could hardly be found! Won't be back! Poor poor customer service. read more

These people don't care about providing service. We sat for 45 minutes before we finally asked for a manager and then when our server finally decided to show up, he had the audacity to say we hadn't made him aware we wanted to order?!???!!!!! Why would we be there otherwise??? Seriously?? So then, the manager shows, pretends like he gives a rat's ass and the next time we see him is when we go out to have a cigarette and he chased us because he thought we'd dined and dashed. Oh!! And they screwed up our order, we told the lady who brought the dishes and she rolled her eyes. SHE ROLLED HER EYES!!!! And didn't tell anyone about the mistake!!! Then, when our absent server shows up, we tell him about the error and he doesn't care either. Long story short, enter with little expectations. I used to love this place but I went on a sunday after church with my family. My sister had a hair in her food they treated us like we put it there. They offered to replace the dinner but by the time it got to us everyone else had finished. More recently some friends of ours were going to the restaurant and bumped into a couple who had a cochroach come out of his plate of food. UGH!! this is the second time I have herard of a cochroach in someone's food. As much as I loved this restaurant, I can't imagine eating there until the Health Dept does what they should. I placed a simple togo order of BEAN chimichanga platter and a chicken enchilada. They put CHICKEN in the chimichanga. It was for a vegetarian and had eat to something else. Will not go back there again. read more

First time trying out this place and left disappointed. Server was rude from the start, messed up drink order. Waited long time for our food when finally brought out it was warm, not hot.
