This place has GREAT food. The tortillas are homemade, food is fresh and the recipes are unique. We are definitely coming back.

Wasn't expecting authentic Mexican high quality food. But The queso and beans seemed watered down.Salsa was really good. Chimichanga not so bad. Burrito was cold inside. Honestly food isn't that great! We ordered a tacos al carbon they were missing ingredients and when i requested the cheese that normally comes with them the lady said they don't come with that cheese thats why?? It confused us a bit since the menu showed the image with the tacos with queso? Anyways we also had some carne asada plates we requested them with mushrooms the food tastes bland and the hand made tortillas don't have much flavor, my opinion is they are to expensive and the food quality isnt that great! read more

MI MEXICAN RESTAURANT ON BURLINGTON BLVD. We try and go here at least twice a month. Their menu is excellent so many Mexican dishes to chose from, our favs are the,wet burritos (enough for 2 meals), and the steak chimichunga , in reality you can't go wrong with any meal on the menu. The only thing I won't buy is a side of guacamole, very small container for 10.00, too steep for me. The proprietors of the restaurant are the nicest people, they help you if you have a lot to go by opening door and help you to your car if needed. Ok, this is intended as feedback for the owner, as much as a review for potential customers.... The place was not busy at all, but our waiter was inattentive; he left the table before we were totally finished our order and didn't stop back to check if we needed refills of chips or drinks. Early in our visit, I went to the washroom and found that there were no paper towels. I approached a waitress and told her about this, and she said that she would correct this. Went back about 25 minutes later - still no towels. Now the food. First off, the menu is huge! Way too much stuff. Pages and pages. Always makes me wonder why there's so much stuff, and wonder if they are over-compensating. I ordered a bean tostada. What I received was more of a lettuce tostada. I mean, the tortilla was good and the beans were ok but they were hidden under mounds and mounds of lettuce! A tenth of it would have been plenty. When I was finished, I reorganized the leftover lettuce and the plate looked close to the same as when it had arrived. The rice was fairly bland in taste and really oily and greasy. Speaking of which, my youngest son ordered nachos and when he finished he commented that there was "cheese juice" left on the plate - it was a pool of grease. Not appetizing. To be fair, my wife had the vegetable enchilada and she said that it was good. However, the overall feeling was that there were things lacking here. So, with respect to feedback to the owner: 1) Encourage your staff to check on patrons. 2) Cut WAY back on your menu - you're over-compensating. Do a few things really well, rather than pages of stuff "meh." 3) Stop wasting lettuce. 4) Cut way back on the oil and grease. read more

Family was wanting Mexican food and in the past this place has been great. The margarita smelled like finger nail polish remover. I honestly wanted to like this place. My husband and I just wanted a nice night out and we were craving Mexican food (my favorite food) . Upon arrival the hostess seemed like she didn't want to seat us in the dining room so I suggested that we eat in the bar which had spots available. The bar staff was NOT friendly nor did they give us decent service the entire experience. It was such a crappy dining experience. The food was decent but the service staff were just terrible. They just didn't want to acknowledge that we were there and were very friendly to other tables which really kinda made us feel like it was deliberate. It's like they went out of their way to make us feel like we were not wanted there, from the moment we stepped through the door. So yeah, I won't be going back here as the experience was not worth the money and time. I have had excellent experiences at many other Mexican restaurants in town and I'll be spending my money with those establishments in the future. Yuck, yuck, and more yuck. I was here about 20 years ago with my family and decided to have dinner there tonight. I saw on Yelp it was only three stars but decided to risk it. I think the carpet was a sign of what I was going to get, faded and worn out. I was right. Service was not good, took a while to wave someone, literally waving at passing by staff, to finally get napkins and silverware. Appetizer was gross. Main course was bad, too, bland, gross, tasted old and nasty. Even the salsa and guacamole was not good. I did not finish my meal and left, refused a takeaway container. Never going back. We've never had bad service here. Tonight we just didn't have service at all. Got to the table at 7:10pm, got our appetizers at 7:16pm(cold) food didn't come out until 7:45pm. Gave us our food and left, went and asked for the missing items to our order and then we were able to eat as we ordered. Ordered my son some fries after our meal came, they came out fast but not cooked. Asked for boxes, they finally came and before I could box them up, the server tried to grab my plate. Took another 15 minutes to cash out. Jasmin was our server but I'm sorry if it takes 15 minutes to run my card I'll just pay cash and there goes your tip, sorry you wasting our time costed you. Where oh where do I start ! This place is lacking in service , food & cleanliness. Service sucks ! We had prompt service when we sat down . We ordered our drink and food. The waiter was to never return again until the food was ready. You may ask where was the waiter ? He was sitting up by the kitchen . Yes sitting waiting for our food. Should I go and refill our drinks myself ? Chips and salsa ? No you have to wait till he comes back then ask. But don't bother cause he won't remember. We asked 3 times for napkins . There's 4 of us and 2-3 napkins for fajitas isn't enough . They must be rationing them since there going out of business ! Bland food. They throw 1/4 pound of chicken in with a pound of lettuce into your plate. Take 27 minutes to come to you and ask if you want drinks. Never come by for a refill. Nice waiters but they don't have any experience. Had to go up and ask for a check to we could leave because they never came to ask us if we were ok or if we wanted to go. Good quality meats. But needs more spices and needs faster service (its not even busy at the moment and their still so slow) i would not pick this place when theirs so much more better places around here. read more

Ordered an original margarita and it tasted purely like store bought margarita mix. So, we ordered a cadillac margarita, tasted the exact same. The salsa tasted like tomato sauce. My chile relleno had a raw chile pepper inside. My boyfriend visited the restroom and came back to tell me we should leave. I laughed it off until I went to the bathroom. Being a native Californian, I know great Mexican food when I taste it. This is it. It doesn't all taste the same, as some do, all from the same supplier. The chili rellano was fabulous, my item to test a great Mexican restaurant. It is the best I have had since CA. Tamale at Christmas time, pure heaven, a little heavy on the masa, the meat and seasoning was heaven. We happened upon Mi Mexico a few months ago, while shopping. This time we made a special trip for my birthday, just to have lunch, it is a 90 minute drive from home, well worth the trip. We will be back. read more

I LOVE this place! I've been coming to this restaurant since the little house that started it all in the 90's burnt down. The openness of the restaurant is welcoming, and if you are all 21+, they have a great full service bar with lots of seating. It's bright and cheery! The food! The salads are my fave! They're nicely sized, and with the chips and salsa, it's a perfect meal! The carne asada is seared to perfection... i get that with whole beans! Another go to is the chicken chimichanga, or three enchiladas! I love it all! The service is really fast, even on busy nights. And there's always tons of parking! We ate here twice on a recent 9 day trip for the WA State Little League tournament. We were taken great care of both times, the first for my son's 13th birthday, where I can now highly recommend the homemade Tamales that are made fresh daily. Delish. The second visit, we showed up with a very large group on a busy Friday night. They promptly moved tables together to seat us as a team and gave such fantastic service. From that visit, I had a delicious plate of Tacos Al Pastor with a side of tortillas which were being made on site mere feet from our table. Absolute heaven. To top things off, they were serving one of my all time fave IPA's on tap: Fremont Lush IPA. I was in my happy place...and am smiling remembering it now! Muy delicioso! read more

(Weird combo, I know) * The shrimp cocktail was very tasty. Large shrimp/prawns in a soupy like mix of onions, tomatoes, avocado and cilantro. Floating in a big margarita glass. *The nachos were blah. Bland and super greasy. Rather yucky. * salsa & chips: very watered down salsa * guacamole: again, very watered down flavor. I'm from south Texas, so I know what homemade tortillas feel and taste like, and what I got was from a grocery store! I did order a tamale...some meat filling would have been nice. Really disappointed! I eat at the Bellingham Mi Mexico every week or two for the past twenty years. So I expected the same find food and service in Burlington. Far from it! Everything was way over salted! The guacamole was not, it was whatever it was but not guacamole. The waitress insisted it was. Last night my boyfriend and I went to dinner here. We ordered the steak and chicken fajitas. They arrived quickly although was mostly onion and green peppers. You really had to search for the meat!! They were quite oily also! We mentioned this to the owner and the response was yes, you mainly get vegetable instead of meat. For the price, it should be the opposite!!! The service is incredible, and incredibly fast and the prices are very reasonable. From the moment you're seated, you are brought an abundance of chips and salsa and the drink of your choice (in my case, water) almost instantly. The staff is always friendly. The food is always brought quickly, AND IT ALWAYS TASTES GREAT! Need more chips, amigo? Not a problem! They're always fresh, always hot and always available! I've yet to meet a menu item I haven't liked. I've navigated my way through a significant portion of the lunch menu without remorse. You won't be disappointed. read more
