Don't order the chicken it appears raw and their explanation is not appetizing. Fries and burgers and shakes were well liked

Bit awkward to wait for a table though!! Menu is...burgers! Classics like cheeseburger and double cheese, as well as ones with bacon jam (yum!!) and Mexican pulled pork, and the American patty melt! I ordered the bacon and blue, which was a bit salty for my liking and would have liked the burger a bit less done- I only realised after the disclaimer on the menu saying all are cooked medium well! Oops! Tried a side of the chicken wings- they were super crispy with a nice spicy sauce drizzled on top. Win. I actually might have preferred the wings to the burger for my main! Colleagues had the bean burger, which they said was a bit flavourless and didn't hold together well. Sides were nice, fries and zucchini chips! Staff were super friendly but with a seemingly endless offering of burger joints in London, unfortunately Clive's ranks fairly average on the whole.

While the…read morecustomer service was very good (excellent service), the patty melt was way too salty and oily and the salad was terrible. How does one mess up a salad? Sadly, would have preferred greasy fish and chips over this burger diner joint.

Greasy Goodness…read more.. We were pleased when we stumbled into Ed's..... We were taken by surprise, and we liked it, we liked it alot. The little bustling restaurant definitely has plenty of atmosphere, we loved the Happy Days swinging 50s thing. The service staff were upbeat and good fun. It is a great place to take the kids or have a teenagers birthday party etc etc. But measured on the BURGETRON.... Not great... The food was cooked and presented like a slightly (and I mean slightly) up market Fish and Chippy. Not expensive but not cheap. The coke floats we so eagerly ordered weren't great either. A random hotdog glided past my eyes glossed in goo cheese and also sadly didn't look overly appertising either. We were a bit disappointed that the food wasn't very nice after being so excited initially, it was busy though so maybe on a quieter day the quality might be a little better. The menu was interesting and there were plenty of options including a choice of two Vege burger, cheesy fries, milk shakes, choc sundaes....all the usual Americana Diner things... It was loud and crowded so if you're looking to chill.... Best not go on the weekends... So in closing.... go and have a look...take the kids... it's no food destination but definitely fun... anyway ....as Fonzi would say.... Ayyyyyy!!!!!

It's lively, welcoming, and genuinely fun for the entire family. Even the waiting area is unique and thoughtfully done, which says a lot about how much they care about the customer experience. The staff and waitresses were all lovely, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly. We ordered a huge spread--pretty much the entire menu and then some--and everything was delicious. If you're sensitive to spice, I'd recommend staying away from the Sichuan soup. On the other hand, the clam-based soup was one of our favorites--comforting, flavorful, and perfect for balancing out the meal. Amazing food, amazing service, and a great atmosphere. Haidilao is absolutely worth the visit while in London.

Sharing hot pots are divided into four quadrants - we got half and half mala spice and the mild but super savory mushroom broth. Very different but both excellent! Individual dishes are ordered via iPad. We got a large selection of meats, veggies, noodles, and some more unusual delicacies like beef cheek and colon(?). There are self serve stations for sauce making, and some small sides and desserts/fruits. I LOVED the seaweed salad there and got three helpings... not sure what goes into this but it was so yummy. Tissue boxes at the table are a nice touch for runny noses with the spicy broth! There's a bit of a show that comes with ordered hand pulled noodles! A staffer comes out and pulls and spins and dances with the noodles table side. I think they also sing for birthdays (seemed to be a couple of those around us). For tourists, this is located in a nice area for a bit of a site walking tour before or after dinner! (To either work up an appetite or walk off a bit meal.) We strolled - Trafalgar Square, Big Ben & viewing Parliament/Westminster, St James Park, and Buckingham Palace.

In terms of food quality however, I wasn't very impressed and could have probably eaten a better meal at MacDonald's or dare I say it, Burger King. If you're watching the calories there isn't really any safe option so probably stick with the water or diet coke. Everything is deep fat fried meaning that it tends to be on the greasy side (I did say think 'Grease') I opted for a cheese burger after an alcohol fuelled evening when I would be less cautious of the whole unhealthy thing, but still struggled with the burger as it was just far too greasy . The milkshakes are great though and you would probably struggle to find better. These tend to be very popular and what Ed's is famous for. You should go to experience the American style vibe and Rock 'n' Roll jukebox but don't expect an amazing quality meal.

They do very good (and uber sweet) milkshakes for £3.10 which are suitable for two as well as a selection of puddings; the pecan pie and apple pie (both £3.65) are especially divine! Be warned, their tagline is "Eat here once and you'll always return"! (They also offer hamburgers and hotdogs which I haven't tried but I think they would be pretty standard- don't take my word though!)
