Good atmosphere, great food and service. I've only been once, but I felt the menu was full of inventive and tasty dishes. I ordered the duck carnitas tacos and my partner got the steak fajitas. The duck carnitas were novel and delicious, their rice and beans were above average. The fajita steak was among the best I've had. I will be returning.
The food, The food, The FOOD!!!!! So good that this is the 1st time I have overeaten where I am in pain. So delicious and you can tell the food was prepared as smart experience as well. The ambiance is a family upbeat atmosphere. Our server Myrna was amazing. Kind, attentive and her suggestions were spot on. Definitely making this place a top gem in Plano and can't wait to go back. The manager came and greeted us as well.
Food here is pretty decent and the guacamole are ginormous and can feed a group of 4 . Some of the tacos can be better in flavor but it's decent enough and drinks are also decent .
Bf and I had a good dining experience here. Came in on a Saturday night with an estimated wait time of 25 min that was more like 15. Vibes were lovely at night, very low light and upscale. I got the steak fajitas. Definitely some of the best steak for fajitas I've had as my go-to for Tex mex. Very tender, easy to bite through. However, they didn't give me many toppings. I was given guac, sour cream and cheese along with tortillas. At other places I often get lettuce and tomatoes, lettuce at a minimum, so my fajitas felt a bit empty with just meat, cheese and sauces. Came with rice and beans, but I don't like either so they were given to my bf, who said he liked them. Bf got duck carnitas and enjoyed them. Said the duck was indistinguishable from something like pork but that they tasted good anyway. He really enjoyed the jam like sauce that came with and the beans. Overall, I enjoyed this place and would return. Bonus: we were given a WHOLE bag of chips with our to-go boxes unprompted. Win!
The best experience! Super sweet waitress- she explained the whole menu to us, including drinks, food, and history of the restaurant. She was amazing- I'm doing this review well after visiting so forgot her name but wish I could give kudos to her! We enjoyed our drinks, one recommended by the waitress- the riviera Maya. Both were great (and definitely had alcohol- be warned!) food was amazing! I wanted to try the spicy Santa Fe sauce, so I did enchiladas with two different sauces. The salsa was amazing. Chicken in enchiladas wasn't dry and the tortillas were so good. The manager came by to check on us, and after finding out it was our first time there, offered us free dessert! We unfortunately ran out of time and had to get going to an event, but overall a great experience and we talk about this place all the time!!
Mi Dia From Scratch is a great place to grab some lunch. I stopped by with some coworkers. The menu presented us with some difficult decisions. I ended up ordering the green chile tacos -- and they were really good! At first I thought that they were a bit small and that I hadn't ordered enough food - then I started eating them - and then I realized I couldn't finish. There ended up being more than enough. The tacos were - having the green chile - were on point. The staff were very friendly and the place is quiet enough where you can carry on a conversation. Will definitely be back!
We were there celebrating our 10 year anniversary. This was our first time being there and won't be our last. The food was amazing, our server Myran was amazing she took her time to explain the menu and had a cheerful attitude. The ambience is very nice we came at 5:30 but I'm sure an evening the lighting would be very romantic.. The manager took care of us as 1st time guests, Very much appreciated.
This place is mostly stellar and lovely. Nearly all the staff were sweet and the food comes out very quickly. My frustration and lower star rating is because of the manager. It's quite off-putting that the manager went to every CAUCASIAN table and asked how they were doing and if they did needed anything. Yet he ignored us because we're minorities? And this happened multiple times throughout our meal. It's a little discouraging so we will probably abstain from coming to this particular location in the future.
My son flew into town and took me to such a nice dinner at Mi Dia. We hadn't been here before and walked in a little after 5p on a Friday. We were seated immediately. Our server was super sweet and had the best energy. He totally made our experience 5 stars. Loved him! We both started with spicy pineapple margs. These go down fast! We ordered the table side guac, delish!!!! We were pleased that when we said spicy it definitely had a kick. Our spicy isn't usually the idea of a restaurant's spicy when we do table side guac. We both said "this guy took us seriously". We both strayed away from basic items we were going to order when our server suggested different menu items and ordered two of the same entree, really hoping it was good. The shrimp enchiladas were OUTSTANDING!!! I mean, think you may have been eating them in CDMX if you didn't know you were in Plano, outstanding! Our server was the cutest little thing, with so much personality and really fun, he suggested a couple of really great cocktails for round two. We totally trusted him and had no clue what we were ordering when the first arrived, "when hell freezes over". This drink was impressive. I don't know that I'd need it on a regular basis but happy we tried it. The second was a dessert cocktail and soooo yummy, almost like an adult milkshake in a martini glass. We shared both and enjoyed the dessert cocktail with an on the house dessert of our choice ( a scrumptious Rocky road esque homemade ice cream, that was superb!) since we mentioned it was our first time here since I moved to town. Mi Dia came as a recommendation from a neighbor of mine and her daughter who spoke highly of them. Such a great spot, can't wait to return! By the time we left the entire place was full. Service exceeded my expectations and was really above, felt so nice, kind and sweet for our first time visit.
Mi Dia never fails to impress. From the food to the friendly service, I'm a fan. This location was nicely decorated with a center bar filled with different types of tequila. The tableside guac is always a star and a must for the table. Socially with all that good bacon mixed in, really filling and delicious and I also like to think it's healthy lol. The table salsa has a good kick to it too. You end up eating so much chips because of all the great dips. The enchiladas were outstanding and our server hooked it up with the brisket. The tamale was awesome too. Everything just hits here but, beware, your wallet also takes a hit too lol.
This may be my favorite more upscale Mexican restaurant yet!! Everything was so good and came out super fast, like under 5 minutes. My boyfriend raved about the sea bass tacos and we came back the next week. Def give this a try!
Gave this establishment a second shot because a friend wanted to meet there. Last time I have this place a 3-star. This round was a whole lot different. The vibe, energy, was great. We sat at the bar and had dinner because the restaurant was full on a Saturday evening. We ordered the ceviche, Carne Asada, and table side guacamole, which were all delicious and Strawberry and Mango Margaritas that were too strong or too sweet. It was the perfect balance. Both bartenders that helped us were wonderful and it changed my mind about returning. I'll be back.

We stopped in on an early Saturday afternoon and it wasn't very busy. The inside is esthetically pleasing and the lighting is pretty good. I also like the fact that they had a covered patio area. Gerardo was our waiter and he was awesome! He was kind, knowledgeable about the menu and provided many suggestions that didn't leave us disappointed. The food here is very reliable and good but the service we received today was absolutely ridiculous. To start we had been sitting for about 10 minutes before being greeted, eventually a girl brought some water and said our server would be right with us and was just running some food. 10 minutes later our server is finally here and he wasn't crazy busy or anything he was talking with the table behind us about what languages they are learning. My husband and I are very understanding as we have both worked in the service industry for years but we just couldn't find a reason as to why we were getting this service. He wasn't attentive and messed up our to go order, bringing it on a plate at first and we had to ask multiple times for chips and salsa. Probably won't be returning here again. I drive by this place a lot and we finally stoped to try it. We had a reservation and got quickly seated. Promptly were given chips and salsa, which are excellent! Our waiter was very attentive, kind, conversational, and prompt. My husband ordered the table side guacamole & oh my goodness.....it is super good, but for 2 people it was WAY too much. He ordered it due to a review but I will prefix, this is something a group orders to share or if you live close and want to take the extra home. He also ordered the Xmas burrito with chicken. It is HUGE as well. Seriously could be split between 4 people. Prepare to have a meal or two for later if you order it. Lol! I ordered the Codprniz. The charro beans were excellent. Came with my husband and his family - we were all blown away by how amazing everything was. The double salsa was delicious. Every drink exceeded expectations and the New Mexico Tampiqueña absolutely blew it out of the water. Every person at the table was so happy with their order. Service was amazing end to end, despite how incredibly busy they were. The indoor patio area was GORGEOUS! Loved the lights and view outside. I ate here for a work dinner earlier this week and enjoyed it. The inside of the restaurant had a somewhat spacious feel, with good lighting as well. As for the food, the tableside guacamole was delicious!! Definitely recommend trying this appetizer as it was full of avocados & delicious mix-ins. The Xmas burrito was a huge portion size which was a definite plus. The only thing is if I ordered that entree again I probably would've preferred it without the sauces. Overall though, I would definitely come back here and get their tableside guac again! read more

Mi Dia never disappoints. I always enjoy. every visit. Their appetizers are yummy, especially their l queso and guacamole, which is prepared table side. Their house salsas are really good - both green and red are served with chips as a compliment to your meal. We ordered a lot of beef dishes this visit and all dishes came out cooked perfectly! The meat was so tender and savory and paired well with their yummy bean soup and rice. If you are into mixology, they have awesome cocktails. The presentation of their drinks are great and even better taste great! Their staff is always attentive and really make an effort to make your experience great. They even pack your food for you too if you need to go bags and containers. Overall the ambiance is family friendly and they have several locations across the metroplex. read more

Nothing beats finding a last-minute lunch spot before your flight more than consuming the gooiest, sauciest enchiladas possible. Normally these large, merely gentrified-looking Tex-Mex spots don't deliver on the authenticity, but everything (from the food to the service) was pretty good. read more

Beautiful decor, delicious food, clean look and feel, and excellent wait-staff! I was very impressed with Mi Dia in Plano. Our server was Abraham C, and he was marvelous! He was professional, friendly, caring, and an overall perfect server. I enjoyed the shrimp fajitas. The other 2 people in our party ordered the chicken fajitas and the Juanita platter. My husband and I came here for date night bc we'd both been wanting to try it. We were excited to try a new Mexican restaurant patio bc that's our favorite thing to do - margaritas and fajitas on a Mexican restaurant patio! All the pictures of the patio here on Yelp showed an outdoor patio that was covered, which is perfect in the heat. When we got there I said we wanted to sit on the patio, so they took us to an indoor patio completely closed in by a wall of windows. I clarified and said "oh actually we were wanting to sit on the outdoor patio" but they said they don't have an outdoor patio - it was just this one. I have attached a picture of what the patio looks like now - they've removed the fence and replaced it with a wall of windows, so now it's just an indoor patio We only stayed for 1 drink and then left to go somewhere else that actually did have an outdoor patio bc that's really what we were wanting to do I am giving it 4 stars for now bc our drinks were good and they were strong! And the food did look good. But it's missing an outdoor patio. We will come back another time when we aren't looking for an outdoor patio and I'll update my review then about how the food is! 2/5 Heart of the Desert (Drink) 2/5 Salsa 3/5 Chips 4/5 Hatch Tacos 4/5 Shrimp Tacos 4/5 Rice and Beans 4/5 Churros I'm not a fan of spicy drinks so my opinion is a bit biased. Tasted spice and not enough flavor. The chips were pretty good, though again, I like mine a little more salty and thicker than theirs. The salsa felt like standard restaurant grade salsa, nothing special. The main dish however, was really good. I got the hatch tacos with rice and beans. It was flavorful, spicy, and filling. It wasn't too spicy, maybe a 2/5 on spice, and the meat was cooked to perfection. My fiancés shrimp tacos were equally as good, as she is the shrimp lover and she gave it her seal of approval. The churros were solid, especially when mixed with the ice cream. Lastly, the ambiance but more importantly our waiter was fantastic. Lovely small talk, knew the menu, recommend the churros and we were not disappointed. read more

We went yesterday evening for a corporate dinner, and the hosts were SO flexible with our reservation (timing and #ppl). We ordered several items, but I'll call out a few: -Table side guacamole- get this. It comes in a large bowl and is available mild/medium/spicy. We got medium and I accidentally ate a half jalapeño with seeds (and I'm a child when it comes to spice lol). I'd get the mild next time. -enchiladas Del Mar - this was the special of the night. It was very sauce heavy, but good. I'd recommend the tequila pesto enchiladas (with shrimp) over this if you want something fun with seafood. - Sandy's combo is for your usual tex mex lover or indecisive person (oops that is me!!!). It got rave reviews from an out of town foodie. -churros were good, exactly what you expect. Fluffy, caramel-filled, and served with a nice cacao dipping sauce -sopapillas were also a hit. These are a must for me, but the table preferred the churros if you can only get one! I will warn you, their food DOES have that kick. If you're used to tex mex or prefer things a little more mild, make sure to voice that so you order what works best for your palate! We'll be back :) read more

i wouldnt say that it "is good for kids" but it is a family environment and if your kids are well mannered it shouldnt be a problem
