    Chicken Fried Steak breakfast
    Rachel M.

We stopped in Clovis for breakfast on our road trip. My husband said, "oh yeah, this is going to be good." Because there was a guy in boots and spurs paying at the counter. He wasn't wrong! This is good cooking done right. The staff were friendly and made sure you had everything you needed, and provided suggestions on what would be good combinations on their menu items. Hint: try the chicken fried steak with gravy AND green sauce. I had the migas and they were chef's kiss! Do yourself a favor, stop here and eat a good meal!!

The Menudo was not bad. Too thick and spicy, but had good flavor. Make sure you ask to see the size of the bowls before you say a large because they only have one size and it's a huge bowl. Please remember that this place is extremely busy on Sunday's so be there before before 10:00 am or you will be waiting for quite a while. Also you may need to constantly be reminding the waitresses of your food order because they are so busy they will forget to put in your order and May forget about you. They do need work on attentiveness but it may be due to how busy they are too. I blame the Biden Kamala Administration because they can't afford to pay higher wages anymore. Overall the food does taste delicious and so not go here for Mothers Day unless you have time or come by early.

Chicken fried steak, with a side of burrito

Absolutely delicious. Great service. Great little Mexican diner feel. My brisket burrito with chili verde sauce was amazing. I added chopped green chilis to top it off with a bit of heat. I give this a 5 star rating because all the elements came together for a nice lunch leaving New Mexico.

This place was amazing! Had the Chile Relleno Plate and I was sad when I had no more bites. Service was friendly. Small town with limited choices, but I'd come back!

Delicious homemade food. One of the best places in town for sure! Huevos Rancheros and the chicken fried steak were on point!

Breakfast was very good, will be my go to place from now on. Beats I-Hop hands down, food, service, and prices.

After a long day driving across TX, the last thing we wanted to do when we stopped in Clovis for…read morethe night was to order takeout. We YELPed restaurants, and one of our other favorites in town was closed, so we took a chance on the Cotton Patch Cafe. They were open for dine-in, and the whole experience was absolutely wonderful. Service was excellent. Our server, Hope, did a great job meeting all our needs -- including a large print menu (during COVID, when everything has to be wiped down again...), and she was as accommodating and pleasant as can be. The food was off the page. We both ordered burgers, one Nachadoches, and one traditional with cheese. We got sides of fries and onion rings. Normally, we don't eat the buns, but these were magnificent, not your run-of-the-mill hamburger buns! The burgers were juicy and tender, and the toppings as fresh and tasty as could be. The onion rings were HUGE, and perfectly breaded and fried, and there was a slight sweetness to them that was delightful. The french fries were nicely cut, but could have used a bit more time in the fryer to get just a little crispier. Not everything can be perfect, right? Next time we come through Clovis, we'll be back. And to the owners, thanks for that message of hope on the windows: Faith Over Fear!

We had to ask for our entrees and when they finally came out all of them were cold to the touch. Another family that came in about 20 minutes after us got their food at the same time (they had 7 in their party). The quality has been significantly decreasing each time we come. Highly recommend you go somewhere else. One last thing. We were there for an hour and never once were able to get a drink refill.

Nicely decorated and spacious restaurant with plenty of tables and booths. The food was a little disappointment. My pastor tacos were dry and difficult to eat my experience with Pastor tacos in the past has been very juicy and full of flavor that was not the case today at this restaurant. My dining companion had an enchilada plate and said it was average and not much flavor Super friendly folks and average food. I visited with a friend who lives in Clovis and he raved about the food, so I may have just made a poor selection. He raved about the.Bierra de Chivo and the torta ahogada - so I may have to come back next time I'm in the area and try those dishes because there are so many favorable reviews.

We were greeted by a hostess and several other employees and were seated right away. They brought chips (the homemade thick kind) and salsa (a chunky medium to hot). That type of chip is not our favorite and they lacked salt. The waitress (Mayra) was attentive and gave us time to order. Wife ordered the Texas Plate (#11) with cheese enchiladas. I ordered the Steak Ranchero (#7). We ordered the quesadilla (steak) platter for the kids to share. All the food was delicious with the exception of the flour tortillas that came with the meals (they seemed to be store bought mission tortillas rather than homemade flour ones we would prefer). They had a green salsa and what I think was a chipotle salsa. Both were good but the green (my favorite) was excellent. The restaurant was very clean. As with most restaurants these days there were TVs everywhere that distracted the kids, but that's not the restaurant's fault. The three meals (water to drink) plus a generous tip was just shy of $48. Definitely recommend!!
