This is my favorite Mexican lunch spot in the downtown area. They are always quick, friendly, and fresh. I always order the same thing, the Mexicana Asada plate with the nopales.

So, for Valentines 2025, wife and I tried this place for B-fast. We enjoyed the food. The huevos rancheros was good, the sauté potatoes with onions and green peppers was different. The meal was good and hearty. I would come back. The only thing was 3.9% on credit card but I had cash.

If there's anything you need to know about me, it's this: I love holes in the wall. Dives. Places that are off the beaten path with great food. Mi Casa definitely fit that bill. During my trip to SATX, I made it my mission to find the best breakfast tacos. Like literally, eat my weight in tacos (I'm a big girl too lol). And this was a place I could fulfill my wish. Their tortillas are fantastic, like melt in your mouth goodness. A judge of a great Mexican restaurant is their refried beans. The servers were so nice. Our one suggested the ranchero salsa to have with breakfast. Now, I'm a "eyes watering heat" salsa type...but I was so glad she recommended it. I actually had issues choosing the salsa, they were all great. So I left SATX, and I had a sad since I wouldn't be going to Mi Casa anymore. So I guess I need to just visit again! Problem solved...

What a great breakfast taco meal in downtown SA. Try Mi Casa if you're a chorizo fan. The tacos were delicious with homemade tortillas and a moist chorizo with egg taco. The plate came with spicy potatoes, chips n salsa, with a side of bacon. The green salsa is very hot and one of the best green salsas I have tried. The entire staff were friendly, responsive, and the food is prepared fresh in minutes. You can order take out from the front register or have a nice meal inside. Plenty of large tables for families seating if you're dining inside. Mi Casa is located in a downtown strip mall and definitely worth the time and drive if you're in SA and hungry for a breakfast taco.

I was so excited to try this place. Long stroll from my hotel but a lovely walk on the river path. I ordered at the counter, I didn't know if they had table service. She said chips and salsa would be a charge ($3+). Had the Mexican platter. Just mediocre. Refried beans the only thing on the plate with flavor, although it looked delicious! Bummer. Chips did not taste homemade and had some weird seasoning. Ate a few, left the rest. I usually take the leftovers and make chilaquiles at home but there was no point. While I was eating a group of about 10 came in and sat down. The waitress rushed over with 3 baskets of chips and salsa for their table. Wonder if they were charged $10? Here on business, wishing for good Mexican in SA but I'm about to 0 for 6 now.

Everyone's food but mind my food got brought out as everybody was finishing up

Bad service understaffed and bad quality food half of it was cold half of it was brought out it wasn't even complete. I end up eating last from my family because my order half of it came out and it got cold and I had to send it back and then they brought me the wrong order I had to send it back again. I had to wait to get refills and the tortillas late after 5 minutes after the food out as the food got cold. And at the end I ended up waiting another 15 minutes just to speak to management about the issue. And all that they can do is just not charge me the drinks. It just a bad experience all the way around. I visit San Antonio every year around this time and this just made everything suck at the end of my trip. Unfriendly staff and management. And then to top it off they want to sit there and argue with us instead of trying to defeat it and just make things right and come to a compromise. You want good quality food with good service and never fails I go there every yeah. I decided to give this place a try huge mistake I should have just stick to what I know good quality food service all around go to Lupita's Cafe 456 E White Ave, San Antonio, TX 78214 it's amazing...

    Cheeseburger and tacos!

Service was good! The waitresses were very welcoming. The chips and salsa they offer weren't that great. The chips were a little stiff and the salsa was too thick...too "tomatoey". The burger was good, nothing out of this world and the tacos were also average. The tortillas were very good. Inside is clean and nicely decorated.

This place is amazing! We actually left another very popular joint on the market to come here. Small but so authentic. We had Carnitas, Enchiladas, Gorditas, and Menudo. All were superb. I can't recommend this place enough. You will not regret if you want real Mexican.

After having lived in Southtown well over three years I accidentally stumbled upon Mi Casa when work sent me to a training nearby and ever since it's been my go-to local hole-in-the-wall kinda taco joint! I will start my review by saying I've only ever had their breakfast tacos and that every breakfast taco I've had has been wonderful. My favorites include their nopalitos egg and cheese, migas taco with avocado, and huevos a la mexicana with cheese. The tortillas are fresh, home made, and fluffy while being stuffed with wonderfully flavorful ingredients. Then I add their spicy green salsa to the mix and I'm set for a killer breakfast. I also really enjoy their chips and salsa (which is served warm). So far as pricing, Mi Casa offers quality food at a great value...that means it's pretty damn cheap but doesn't taste anything less than quality. If I had to give any constructive criticism it's that service isn't anything stellar but that being said, it's not bad either. I get what I need and am rarely interrupted. Sometimes call ahead orders are a little slow but I just chalk that up to the restaurant being so close to the apartment. Chances are that if it's a Saturday you'll most likely find me at Mi Casa kicking off my weekend with some awesome tacos.

Que beuno día, we need the rain....and the food? The food is definitely poppin'!!! I have never given a bad review for anything but the service is a bit lacking. They only have two lady's waitressing. This is a busy place for sure. Bless their heart. We should at least had gotten our drinks. We sat down at 12...ordered...and didn't get our drinks until 1240....Al la madre!!! But the food....the food is definitely worth the wait!!! The place itself is what to expect to have at a diner. Crowded, inviting, Tex-Mex, cozy. I seen that maybe ordering to go may have been a better option.

This place is legit. Every city in the US needs one of these exact same restaurants. The breakfast taco menu is vast and I'm gonna need a few more days to try everything.

Service is fast, place is decently clean for the foot traffic, the servers all look happy and eager to work. I ordered tortilla soup, I usually like it with a cup of rice and avocado like most places serve it. However, I definitely think this is a safe Mexican food restaurant when it comes to not overdoing it with spices and the extra stuff. My soup had a decent amount of chicken. I had a mimosa, loved that they used fresh orange juice. Flour tortillas were delicious! Before heading out you need to have the sweet bread!! So goooodd!

People say when in San Antonio, do like the San Antonian's. Nobody really says that. I mean, I just…read moredid, but I also just made it up. With that being said, let's make up a review. Except I'm not actually making the review up, I've been to the place. Both San Antonio and the restaurant moments away from being reviewed. I'm always down for solid Mexican food. It's always pretty damn good. I mean, at the pure base of things, it's basically the same few ingredients, just different vessels to get it to your mouth. I'm never bad about that. I love transportation. Mi Tierra was a pretty great looking place. Plenty of space, a nice outside waiting area, plus a bakery. I have never been to a place with a bakery that I didn't like. It seemed like a very authentic place, and that's coming from a resident of Michigan. A resident that eats Taco Bell. A resident who eats Taco Bell and think's THAT'S authentic Mexican. The first thing I noticed was that this place did not seem to serve burritos. Not a marker really for me, but it was something I've never came across before. I also thought that you were stuck ordering enchiladas or tacos in a meal type of setting. Upon further questioning, you can order a la cart. That was a relief. I ended up ordering the enchiladas Verdes because sometimes I ignore my color palate and go for green. And because I can't just stop eating one form of meat, cheese, and sauce, I ordered a taco. Actually, I just ordered a taco because I wanted a dryer enchilada. Or did I order the enchiladas because I wanted a wetter taco...I don't know anymore. Anywho, I ground beef, American style taco. Now, I've always been a big fan of chips and salsa. Some salsa hits, some miss. Some salsa is pureed and is basically red water. Some salsa is just a full tomato. I like my salsa like I like my orange juice. With extra calcium. Wait. Mild pulp. That's it. This salsa pretty much hit those notes. Had good flavor and a little spice left to linger. The main course came out and everything looked delicious. Green enchiladas looked exactly like I expected. However, it took me a moment to realize I was not looking at a burrito...but instead, my taco. It was served a peculiar way. wrapped, seam down, with a little bit of the meat on top, pico and lettuce on the outside, next to it. It was a burrito peacocking as a taco. I've never seem this display before, and I have been to many Taco Bell and non-Taco Bell restaurants. The taste was pretty good, though. All the taco flavor in a burrito jacket. The enchiladas were pretty decent, too. Everything tasted like it had all the ingredients and that they were in all the right spots. No doubt about it, I was full after e

It was delicious! The concha was soft, buttery and flaky, with just the right sweetness. We took home the majority of it and it stayed nice and soft instead of turning hard like so many others. We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations for us, and was quick with checking on our drinks and generally helping us throughout our dinner. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, tasteful and refreshing. We definitely will be going back, and recommend Pan Fila to all of you.
