I missed taking a photo of the barbacoa tacos but these are worth posting about! I ordered carry out so I can't speak to the ambiance though the service was patient, informative, and timely. I requested corn tortillas because I really don't like flour (they typically make me feel ill). They mistakenly gave me flour anyway but because it was carry out, I didn't notice until I was home. I ate them anyway and they still got a 10/10 even with my order incorrect! That's how delicious these were. The tortillas were soft, and melted in my mouth like butter. The barbacoa was juicy without being greasy. The flavors were perfect and it was accompanied by chopped white onion, cilantro and lime. I added avocado and it was a complete party in my mouth. The green sauce is milder than I anticipated, but still added flavor. The nachos were good, but the barbacoa stole the show for me.
I honestly would have never went to this place if it wasn't suggested to me but so glad it was. Everything was so fresh and good. There was a bit of a language barrier though. I ordered the Crispy Taco lunch combo with chicken and on soft shell. While placing my order, I asked if that was possible considering it is called a "Crispy" taco combo and was told yes. The combo included salad with avocado, rice, and beans. To my surprise, I was brought and charged for steak taco meal with extra rice. While I could've sent it back, I'm glad I kept it because it was delicious. Must've been meant for me to get steak and not chicken. The steak was seasoned so well. I did have to ask for the salad as well since the meal brought to me didn't include it. I threw the salad, avocado, and lime on my tacos and my oh my! I also ordered a Watermelon Agua Fresca. The cup was huge! It was worth the $5. Highly recommend.
Great food! We can here after visiting family at St. Luke's Hospital down the street. We were greeted immediately and offered whichever table we wanted. I ordered crispy taco plate with nopalitos, sin carne. My bf ordered the menudo. Both were delicious! We ended up having to take it all to go before our food came out but the staff packed it up swiftly. Super grateful for their willingness to accommodate. Clean and spacious. There were also slot machines for those that enjoy gambling! I know my gma and mom dothey're going to love this place
In town from Phoenix and was recommended the Taqueria by my nephew. He was in the moneys I had the Asada tacos which were perfect street tacos ll the fixings to add as you please. Priced to provide value and the side beans are tasty . Great flavor, freshly made and two types of salsa. The server was prompt and attentive. Nice booths and plenty of room now that they have expanded. Would prefer fountain drinks as opposed to cans.
Establishments that have staying power are those with consistent personnel who are courteous, very hardworking, and friendly and that's case here. It's easy to spot a manager here because they are constantly moving, checking on customer satisfaction, clearing tables, and assisting the waitresses with orders. I've had wonderful meals here every time I've come - early in the morning to late at night.
I've been here a few times. The breakfast platters are a good value, but the breakfast tacos seem to be on the pricy side. I've also had their beef enchiladas for lunch a couple of times, and they were solid. They're open very late, it's very roomy, and good for groups. It's nothing fancy, but it's a clean place and the service is decent. If I had only one word to describe this place, it would be "consistent". Check them out - they have a decent menu with a good variety of options. (And they serve beer and wine - no hard liquor though) ,
I drove in from Houston and made a stop at Taqueria Data Point, and it did not disappoint. The food was easily better than a lot of spots I've tried back home. This is real, authentic Mexican food done right. The customer service was excellent, and everything came out quickly. I ordered the mini taquitos with al pastor and asada, their torcas plate, and the quesabirria, everything was flavorful, fresh, and cooked perfectly. I was also really impressed with the portion sizes, they give you a great amount of food for what you pay. I actually ended up packing two to-go boxes to bring back home. I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in San Antonio. Looking forward to trying more of their menu!
This place had been on my radar based on the favorable reviews on Yelp. Since I don't live in the area, I've not made the effort to stop in. I finally got my chance after finishing an appointment in the area. When we arrived, there was plenty of parking. My wife and I were greeted by a friendly waitress and was told to sit anywhere. There was plenty of seating, so we opted for a booth. A different waitress then came by to take our order. I had the carne guisada taco and barbacoa taco. I started off the with the carne guisada. It was very good. The tortillas were super soft. The barbacoa taco was next. It too tasted very good. I am glad that I had the chance to try this place. Only offputting thing was the price for the tacos. I will probably check this place out again. Not too sure how soon though.
Second time trying this place for lunch. Food both times has not been bad. I tried the lunch special which included 2 chicken enchiladas,1 cheese, and 1 chicharron enchilada. It was a lot of food. Not able to finish it all. Place is clean. Now to the service. I went in after lunch rush. Place was not even busy. Maybe a handful of people throughout. I had no waiter. The one who took my order was the cashier. A group of 3 came in right after me and the waiter went to their table within a few minutes of them sitting down. They even sat right behind me so it's not like he didn't pass my table to go to them. I saw the chip person and the person who delivered my food. Was not a fan today.
Very good setup in this place and very clean and nice. The food was good Mexican food and the server was a kind person. This is a giant place and it's comfy.

My friends in San Antonio have been holding out on me--Taqueria Datapoint is an absolute gem. This place isn't just good... it's borderline life-changing. Let's start with the mini street tacos. I had the Carne Asada and Carnitas, and I'm telling you--some of the best I've ever had, anywhere. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and wrapped in fresh, hot tortillas that actually hold up (no taco blowouts here). The rice and refried beans? Legit. They taste like your abuela made them--with love, lard, and zero shortcuts. Even the chips and salsa were standouts. The salsa has a nice kick--spicy enough to get your attention, but packed with flavor that keeps you dipping. This place isn't fancy. It doesn't have to be. It's the kind of spot where the food does all the talking--and the conversation is muy delicioso. Bottom line: if you're in San Antonio and you're not eating here... you're doing it wrong.

Stopped by whilst in the mood for a burrito. I know, they're known more for their mini-tacos but I decided to try something different. Great, homey Tex-Mex restaurant atmosphere, service was friendly if not particularly fast. The chicken burrito was good, though nothing to write home about. A tad bland, even with a dose of salsa to kick things up. Still, I'd give it a three or four out of five stars were it not for the state of the cutlery. I got a dirty knife (pictured) even though it was wrapped in a napkin. This was replaced but it did leave an impression. This place scores a 3 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Stopped by for lunch with coworkers and we were not disappointed! The place is quite big with plenty of seats. Service was friendly and fast. Chips and salsa were so good! Homemade salsas can't be beat. I ordered the cheese enchilada plate. I ate just about everything. Food had good flavor. Not the best enchiladas but still good It seemed like the beans had a weird reddish/orange tinge but tasted good. Would definitely come back. Parking is a bit limited especially with the surrounding businesses but definitely worth a try. read more

Really good tacos and comes with a lot at a good price! I went with 2 of my friends and we got 3 plates of tacos - barbacoa, pastor and carnitas and they were all really good. They come with a lot of meat on each taco, I thought I could eat more because they looked so small but it was a lot more filling than I thought. The workers were really nice and they would check up on us a lot. It was very spacious, clean inside with a lot of seating. read more

When it comes to authentic Mexican food, their freshly made salsas and crispy corn tortilla chips truly stand out. The flavors are outstanding and the texture is perfect. The street tacos are a must-try. We had the opportunity to sample the pastor, carnitas, barbacoa, and asada options. This place is a legend in its own right. I came here for a late breakfast after dropping Mom off for a medical procedure. The Chilaquiles Mexicanos Verdes con Pollo caught my eye on the menu and, let me just say, was absolutely delicious! Probably one of the best Mexican breakfast plates in San Antonio! The chips are nice and fresh, the 4 salsas they serve are all delicious and provide nice variety, the flour tortillas were fresh, fluffy, and downright tasty! The dining room is bright and clean and the service is attentive and friendly. This would be a great place to bring your out of town guests or when spending time in the Medical Center. read more

Been here a few times already. They're always fire fly, prompt and very service oriented. Have ordered the Migas several times, they're SO GOOD!! In taco form and in the dish form is even better! Also have tried the Huevos a la Mexicana, and the Chilaquiles dish is phenomenal too! They bring coffee often, and any other refreshments. The place is always clean, playing music, staff is always attentive, great food and prices too! I also go to the other location by De Zavala. Can't go wrong with Datapoint!! read more
I'm from the Rio Grande Valley and I know authentic valley tacos very well. Data Point has the closest I have found in all of San Antonio. They even include avocado with my order of the mini tacos asada which is amazing since that is normally an extra charge at other restaurants. The salsa and chips are delicious as well! The restaurant is very clean, the service is great, and they check on my table frequently. The employees are super friendly and always make sure we are well taken care of. I always feel like I'm back at home in the valley when I eat here. read more

Are there gluten allergy friendly menu items?
Avoiding items with flour, such as tortillas and any dishes containing tortillas there's still plenty of menu items without flour.
Have they moved inside yet, last I saw they were operating a food truck with a partial menu?
So is the new location everyone is talking about that is open the one on medical or de Zavala????😭❤️
