We admit that we were the beneficiaries of our neighbor's research on companies with expertise in stucco remediation. Their final choice was MHX Designs. We closely watched the work being done and, more specifically, we noted MHX team's workmanship, attention to detail, and the sheer number of high energy workers who appeared every day for the duration of the job. With our neighbor's full endorsement after the completion of the job there, we contacted Kyu "Q" Om, CEO of MHX Designs, for our 1st estimate on our own stucco remediation. We had intended to talk with other companies, but we were so impressed with Q's presentation and reasonable price quote that we looked no further . . . and never regretted that decision for a single minute. Q's communication skills were exceptional. He guided us through every decision, provided counsel on design decisions after taking numerous 3-D photos of our home and took the time to educate us on siding choices. We were initially leaning towards Hardie Plank siding, a familiar product and very popular in this area. After much serious consideration, however, we ultimately decided on Everlast Composite Siding, the other premium siding company, and we are very pleased with that decision. For us, it came down to a couple of factors. Everlast, composite based and environmentally friendly, is considered maintenance-free. No painting/caulking required. It's basically once-and-done and an easy install. Hardie Plank, which is cement-based, is not as environmentally-friendly because of the significant amount of dust created on cutting. While there are more color options, the siding requires periodic painting to maintain its appearance. We intend to own our home for at least another ten years and did not want to face having to paint our siding to freshen up fading every few years. While our neighbor chose Hardie because of color considerations, we opted to try to match our original exterior and Everlast's "Sand" was perfect. The MHX teams and project managers were tremendous and with the help of Mother Nature and lack of rain our project was completed in the exact timeline provided by Q. Were problems with our house structure discovered upon removal of the stucco? That would be an emphatic yes, but Q and his team batted down each and every one as they popped up. For instance, our "well built" home was found to have 16 missing struts under one roof line! And there was lots of plywood needed where framing under the stucco was damaged or missing. Q was so good at communication he should teach a Masters class in how to effectively manage a company. Obviously, we are taking the time to write this review because we were extremely satisfied with MHX Designs and highly recommend that you take the time to talk with Q when making this significant decision. He knows his business and his teams are excellent. Thank you, Q and MHX, for another job well-done. read more
