My microwave oven range hood is not satisfactory and the smoke alarm goes off all the time because I cooked a lot and generated a lot of smoke. I found TX5J Handyman ("Daniel & Crew") on Yelp and contacted them. Danel came over, did a detailed FREE inspection and gave me a competitive quote in 24 hours. I then decided to hire them for the job. They came in at 7:30 A.M. in the morning to beat the summer heat. It requires piping and extension exhaust vent directly to outside top siding. It was not an easy job but they completed the job at 2:45 p.m. I am completely satisfied and happy with Daniel & His Crew. Photo is attached "Before and After". P.S.1 It's beautiful isn't it? Yes, they even did the "white box" enclosure (so you won't see the pipe) between the roof and the under cabinet that holds the HAUSLANE range hood to make it look first class+style. Thank you for your help. You people did a good job.

I got frustrated and started a project on Yelp, TX 5J handyman responded very fast to my inquiry and came on the same day to give me estimate. Then gave me a very honest diagnosis for a short term fix and long term fix. I went with the short term for now and they came back the second day to fix it now the drain doesn't leak anymore. Daniel is very fast response to my inquiry over the text; and they did a good job fixing it at a decent price. Highly recommend for others to use them.

He gave us his estimate to take out a small wall, add a wall in a different location, remove our spa tub and install a regular tub and finish everything. He gave us an estimate for cost and the length of time it would take from start to finish. THE PROJECT WAS COMPLETED ON BUDGET AND ON TIME. The workmanship was excellent. The plumber who came in (Richard - RSC Quality Plumbing) was also excellent, on time and on budget. The fiberglass work under our new shower was completed with the same quality, cost effectiveness and timeliness as the rest of the project. Randy with Fiberglass Waterproofing Solutions did this work. The bottom line - our new bathroom is awesome! We bought the home in July 2015, began working with an architect to help us through the city permitting process, and were linked up with Jeff shortly after. Given City of Austin complexities, we were able to start building in November. Here are the high level highlights followed by the details: High level: Construction began November 2015 with a projected completion date of April 2016. Jeff finished the home in mid-February 2016, we were able to move in on Feb 22nd (4-6 weeks ahead of schedule), and the home and experience exceeded our expectations in every way. Not only was our project completed ahead of schedule, but it was on budget - as in, exactly on budget. These details alone (on budget, ahead of schedule) may be enough, but I'll go on. Details: Prior to beginning construction, Jeff was very real with us. He made sure our expectations in terms of budget and timeline were in line with reality. We added a 4th bedroom, 3rd bathroom, and large dedicated dining room onto an existing 3/2. He helped us see the budgeting realities of adding a full bath but also helped us to save throughout the project where we could. We are not "high end" people, although Jeff certainly can cater to high end people as evidenced by his portfolio. Despite that, he encouraged and helped us to select finishings that would save us (for example, a pre-fab rather than custom vanity, mid-range tile and flooring that is gorgeous, etc) so that we could splurge on a few important areas (wall-to-wall, floor to ceiling custom built-in buffet in the new dining room, tankless water heater for the whole house) and also to account for the few unexpected needs that any home renovation will encounter. For us, it was discovering that the original house had NO insulation in the walls. We couldn't very well insulate the addition and not the original part of the house, so that had to be accounted for. Even with this, we still ended our project on budget. It was important to us, living in Central Austin, to ensure the house stayed looking and feeling like the neighborhood around us. Casa Rio Builders kept that priority in mind during the design and construction and made sure the house still fits right in with our (grateful) new neighbors. Extra touches: Jeff and Stephanie (a force in her own right - brilliant, helpful, and sharp) met with us every 2 weeks on site once construction started. We went over the prior and upcoming action items and they kept us on task. We so looked forward to our bi-weekly meetings with Jeff and Stephanie that even though we only lived a few blocks away, we would stay away from the house between meetings so we could have an unveiling of all the progress every time! Jeff and Stephanie both went the extra mile where they really didn't have to to ensure we were living in exactly the house we wanted - a few examples: - We agonized over a new front door style and a chandelier for the dining room. Stephanie scoured and researched to help us find the perfect options for us. - We originally were just going to put two floor to ceiling bookshelves in the dining room. About 2 weeks before the cabinet maker was to build, we decided we wanted a wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling buffet. Jeff had it designed lickity split and it was GORGEOUS. This upgrade cost us a total of about $1800 - couldn't get that kind of storage at that quality with a piece of furniture, and it adds so much style to the room. - We realized about a week before our final walk through that the en suite bathroom in the guest room on the original house - not even where Jeff and his crews were working - was missing a door. We hadn't lived in the house so we just hadn't noticed. A few weeks later, Jeff showed up with a door, painted and installed! - Since we've moved in, a few very minor issues have come up, as one would expect from any new construction. In particular, our door out to our carport was settling which made it difficult to close and lock. Jeff was here in MINUTES (literally, minutes from my email) to fix it himself. We were so grateful for his quick action! Overall, we cannot recommend Jeff, Stephanie, and Casa Rio Builders enough. They were always upfront, always on time, always on budget, and just the friendliest people you could meet and do business with. Everyone I talk to about our build is surprised at what a great experience we have had - nobody LOVES their contractor, but we love ours. Do yourself a favor and call Casa Rio for your major home project. They know what they are doing and will make sure you have fun on the way. Koren was super pleasant to work with all around. Fast, clear communication before the initial meeting. A lot of a great ideas during the initial meeting, for how to keep our project within budget, and where it was worth splurging or dialing back. We had requested a bid on two main projects (Kitchen and Primary Bathroom) and help deciding the scope for the remainder of our projects (Flooring, Guest Bath, Office, Patio, Etc.). We were shocked by how much of the "bonus" projects we could fit in, and yet felt very confident with Koren's insights that these were realistically within our budget. The formal quote came in REALLY fast after our meeting, and was very easy to follow and extremely fairly priced. Was very impressed with how quickly they were ready to begin the work, and the forethought of asking us if we planned to "live-in" during the remodel vs. get an AirBNB or the like. We hadn't even thought of that. Would have been very confident in moving forward with ATX Remodeling. Especially as Koren had so many examples of the type of elaborate communication and oversight we would have at every stage of the process.

Michelle came out and gave a very thorough quote. She was fantastic. Answered all my questions, left me feeling confident that they knew what they were doing and could not only fix all the problems the previous contractor had caused but also go above and beyond to do all the things we had hoped we'd get originally. She worked with me on every little detail and gave great advice throughout. Michelle knows what she is doing and got me a quote that was crystal clear and very reasonable. Daniel ran the job and was fantastic as well. He had great insights, let me nag him about every possible question I could come up with, was flexible if I had any changes of heart about this or that, extremely easy to work with. All of his subs were top notch, which I can say as a business owner in the construction field myself is extremely rare. Plumbing, electrical, waterproofing, tile work, all were fantastic. He's surrounded himself with great people that get the job done right the first time. They didn't bat an eyelash at the art deco tile or the smart valves or any other unusual items I sent their way, they knocked it out with ease. And lastly Koren worked with me on any project details/paperwork that I needed. Was very responsive to everything I brought to him as I looked for assurances that I wouldn't have the same experience I had with the last folks. A very easy to work with company all around. I will be using these guys for future projects because the price is right, the quality is fantastic, and most importantly were willing to entertain any weird ideas I had. Your home is one of those things that has to be just right for you, and they made sure the bathroom remodel turned out just right for me. Would recommend them to anybody, and I'm a picky OCD guy, so that's saying something. Thanks again, ATX Remodeling!
