We are pretty particular when it comes to anybody touching our house. I'm a firm believer in using Yelp, and made contact with Wade and his painting company based solely on his good reviews. Even though we live about 20 miles away from where he normally operates, Wade was willing to drive out, see the property, and give us a written estimate. These days, it seems hard to find someone who's willing or in the end even shows up for an estimate. Wade has such a good following he was a little backed up with jobs, but we were willing to wait for him to do the work. The job is finished now, and they spent a good eight days getting it done. The work area was kept clean and tidy before during and after each work day. The finished result was very tight. Lines are crisp, there was no overspray, and there was no mess. There were some places due to the topography of our lot where they were up over 30 feet high on ladders, but they were always able to get the job done. Wade and his crew did a great job repainting our house. He told me what he was comfortable doing and gave me some references to fix some rotted woodwork that he preferred to avoid. He gave me a time frame for painting our house and when another job pushed out he moved my project up and completed the job 3-4 weeks earlier than the original plan. (He is busy!) Wade, Scott & Shawn did a great job keeping me up to speed with their progress and paid a lot of attention to the little things. The pressure washing prior to painting made everything look good even before caulking and painting. I had some weathered looking shutters that needed either replacing or painting. Wade recommended a dark stain and made them look like new without spilling any stain on the Austin limestone surrounding them. He also gave me some very helpful tips on how to touch up my interior (not part of the scope) in a way that has the best chance of a near perfect color match. (haven't done that yet though) Wade and his team are proud of the work they do and are very professional! The price was reasonable and Wade held his price. They put everything back where they found it and asked permission when appropriate. They were COVID-19 sensitive and maintained distancing while working on the site. When I decided to have the exterior of my house painted, I got a list of painters from several realtor friends and also went on Yelp to look at reviews of other painters. I had several people come out via referrals and give bids. To this list I added Melmo, which I found out about on Yelp. Wade came out to give me an estimate in a timely manner. He was polite, professional, asked specific questions about what I was looking for. He described his services specifically, and spent a good amount of time walking around the exterior taking notes. He then said he would send me an estimate. It only took a couple of days and he came back with an emailed estimate and a time in which he could begin the painting. Wade does the work himself along with one other. They spent a lot of time doing all the appropriate prep work, such as power washing, sanding, caulking and priming. They did a great job on taping off, tarping ground and keeping the worksite clean. They used a combination of spray and hand painting. He hand painted the primer coat on the part of the house that was siding so it would have good coverage. I was totally impressed with his service, commitment and integrity. He's a really nice guy who owns the business and takes pride in his work. His price was fair, it wasn't the least expensive and not the most expensive but we feel the price was great for the outcome. Fantastic family owned business. Wade, the owner, usually works on most jobs or at least is there...which I love. I always feel that he is overseeing all the details personally. His crew has always been polite, clean, nice, and detail oriented...something else I like when it comes to painting! Wade has painted for me inside and outside. Always a professional and no complaints. The quote process was easy and Wade was on time, cordial and actually sent me a written quote...not everyone does that. It must be said that I am a Realtor and I "try out" most vendors on my own home before I recommend them. I have had other painters, but Wade and his crew are the best. I will also say they are not the cheapest, nor the most expensive, but have done the best quality work of the 4 painters I have used and quoted a reasonable price (more than reasonable once you see the care and quality of the work). I have recommended Wade to clients and even a designer I work with and the DESIGNER started using him on her jobs and recommending him to clients that wanted painting. I have heard no complaints about anything to do with MelMo. I like the fact that they are professional, but I also feel confident that they are nice and trustworthy....like if I had to go show a house and they were painting inside, I wasn't worried about leaving them there. They simply hit all the right points: professional, quality, trustworthy, honest and simply nice. A good painter, like a good mechanic, is a treasure. Wade is not a good painter - he's a great painter. We've used him for two jobs - for interior painting at our old ~3,000 square foot house up in Anderson Mill about a year ago, and most recently to repaint a good deal of the exterior of our new house. The interior job was pretty large, and we got several bids at the time. While Wade wasn't necessarily the cheapest (or the most expensive), we got a great vibe from him and went with him. And we're glad we did. He's professional, skilled, communicative, and just does damn good work. We just used him this week to repaint a good part of the exterior of our new house down in Brentwood. He was able to recommend some paint colors, including a darker color than we'd initially considered, and after going with his recommendation, the job turned out wonderfully. The curb appeal on the property is awesome with the new paint, it looks like a new house. The owner came by every day and worked on the job. We recently had our home in Leander painted. Our home was built in 1960 and the exterior is rough textured cedar lap board. Wade, the owner, came out to take a look and give us an estimate in a timely manner. He was upfront about the start date probably being 2-3 weeks out due to being booked until then. That was a non-issue for us so we had him send us an estimate. We requested that he also quote us for our garage separately. Within a couple of days we received his estimate in our email with everything specified and the garage quoted separately. It was a good, fair price for the job, so we lined it up. Wade contacted us about a week after the estimate and let us know that he would be able to start the next week, so it was closer to 2 weeks, rather than 3 which was a nice surprise. When it got closer to the start date he brought up some samples of the colors we had shown him and he painted on a few test samples for us. We picked the colors and the next day they started. They spent the necessary time doing all of the prep work. caulking, taping off, priming, all of it. We had discussed a few holes where wasps were entering towards the top of the house and he caulked those up for us. They worked efficiently and with attention to detail. Nothing was missed and everything was thoroughly covered. The house looks great and it really feels like a home now. Wade and his guys were very professional and knowledgable in their field. I will recommend him to any of my friends who need painting done. He mentioned that they also do interior painting so down the road if we paint the interior we will definitely use him. It is always nice to find someone who is great at what they do as well as a genuinely good person who has your best interest at heart and that is what Wade is.
