I couldn't be happier with the work Mezzacapa Concrete did on my backyard patio. From start to finish, they were extremely professional, communicated clearly, and delivered exactly what they promised. The quality of the concrete work is outstanding, and the finished patio looks amazing. Their pricing was very fair and competitive, especially considering the level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. The crew showed up on time, kept the work area clean, and completed the job efficiently. If you're looking for a reliable, honest, and skilled concrete contractor, I highly recommend Mezzacapa Concrete. They exceeded my expectations, and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again for future projects. read more

Originally, I was going to do a 12 x 12 slab for a Spa. Upon meeting with Shane he gave me several ideas and helped me visualize what my backyard could actually be. The crew showed up on time and immediately went to work. It was truly amazing to watch, not much talk just everybody knowing what they were to do and doing it. They were clean and efficient and extremely respectful of my property. I couldn't be happier with the result. read more

Choosing Mezzacappa was the best choice I could have made for constructing our patio. Out of all of the companies that came to quote me they by far outclassed everyone. From Shane's initial conversation with my wife and to defining the finished footprint of our patio was a great experience. Then came the installation, Vinny ran the job like a true pro and the team was extremely courteous to both the property and my family. I would use these guys a thousand times over! read more

I am extremely disappointed with the concrete work done in front of my home. Almost immediately after the job was completed, the surface began to chip and deteriorate, which is completely unacceptable for what should be a durable, long-lasting installation. This raises serious concerns about the quality of materials used and the workmanship overall. Concrete should not start breaking down right after installation--it's clear that corners were cut somewhere in the process. They used extremely cheap material which is unacceptable. Even more frustrating is that despite bringing this issue to their attention, nothing has been done to rectify the situation. There has been no effort to repair, replace, or take responsibility for the poor quality of work. I expected professional results and instead ended up with a product that already looks damaged and worn, along with a complete lack of accountability. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality concrete work. read more

My neighbor and I both had concrete work done by Mezzacappa and it flaked soon after. They wanted us to pay to redo it. My neighbor had them redo it for a fee and theirs flaked again. I did not have them redo it and both look equally terrible. I am now in search of a new company that will stand behind their work. read more

I had my sidewalk done by Mezzacappa, Thanks to Tony and his crew. Great work, good price, very professional and efficient. I have been getting compliments everyday how nice the sidewalk came out. I would highly recommend them Frank from Graniteville read more

Had my walkway steps replaced it has been a disaster the steps were done incorrectly and I was assured by Tony the owner he would correct the situation well this happened last October 2024 and here we are in March 2025 and nothing has been corrected and the cement is getting worse. Do not hire they promise and promise and do nothing to help you! read more

Less than nine months after the work was done it's beginning to flake, you can see the aggregate. No salt or de-icing was used that would cause this. I cannot express how terrible a job they did and would say they are thieves. Find someone else. read more

Mezzacappa worked on my driveway two times and they've been great. (Picture 2) In July of 2019, they did my driveway from the apron to the yard and it looked beautiful. (Picture 1) They came today to install a zipper drain (channel drain) to the end of my driveway and it was done in a couple of hours. They drilled and broke up the concrete, installed the drain, and poured the concrete. Both times the work was done within the day. That's just fantastic. Looks good so far and I look forward to seeing the drain in action. I'll post another picture when it's dried. The owner Tony was helpful and understanding, his brothers were very friendly and explained things further, and his workers worked extremely hard and answered questions that I had. I will ask them to do more work for me in the future. Thank you, Tony and everyone at Mezzacappa! read more

I would avoid you see this contractor is sloppy they didn't backfill the sidewalks properly. They don't guarantee their work, and they definitely don't come back to repair their mistakes. read more

Great work, good price, very professional and efficient. Mezzacappa poured a concrete slab on the side of my house and made my fence door fit over it, sloped it and made it look great, all in a short period of time. A+ would recommend to anyone. read more

Nasty rude lady answered phone said job to small go elsewhere they dont want your business

High quality, professional work and fast. Great team that have been at it for over 50 years.

Tony had the nerve to call and threaten my husband based on our review. I originally gave a 3 star cause some work was ok but now only 1 star based on Tony's sarcasm And he would not listen to my husband. Secretary was also nasty when called to ask a question. No way to run a business. So glad I got another company to finish the work that Mazacappa was over charging me to finish. They are expensive. read more

I had my yard concreted with Mezzacappa last week, it came out beautiful. They couldn't have done a better job. The guys were, professional, pleasant and respectful. Recently newly installed concrete walkway and stoop. Sadly the stoop has developed pitted concrete surface, have called and have received no response from contractor. City inspector claims this is an obvious sign of a deficient concrete mixture. obviously not built like a rock. read more

Waited 2 months on agreed price only to tell me that the price is now 3x the original agreed quote. Luckily they showed me their unprofessional before I parted with my money. I called on a Tuesday in August and lady on the phone says Thursday they will be there between 9-11 I said fine. I canceled all my plans to wait for someone that never came I then called about 11:30 and no answer then I called st 12 and I yelled that my time was not respected and I would give one star on yelp then one of the men called at 12:30 said he was on Hylan blvd was coming I was stupid enough to believe him and waited til 1:40 He blew me off and never showed up I wasted my time and hired Sunrise Cement the guy from sunrise was courteous respectful told me he would come at 7:30 and was there at 7:30. This company operates like a well oiled machine. They come on time and set all their equipment up efficiently. Our driveway and sidewalk are certainly built rock solid just like they advertise. Have used that company 40 years ago for a patio that is still in excellent condition. The driveway & sidewalk are very recent. When you want a job done right use Mezzacappa Concrete. read more

Professional excellent quality of work. It did. Take a few months to actually start the job however the pandemic backed them up.

We worked with Mezzacappa to redo our backyard from a full grass yard to pavers around our pool and redoing 3 sets of steps. Not only was their work extremely fast, the staff was very helpful, friendly and honest. They came to see the space, let us explain exactly what we were looking to do, gave their experienced opinions are really helped us have the backyard of our dreams. I could not speak any higher of a company that was well organized and helpful, I would highly Recommend Mezzacappa Concrete for any of your paver/concrete needs. read more

Sloppy work, the block is covers in dirt and debris. I went outside to find mud blown all over the side of my car. When confronting the worker took no ownership . The noise is endless from early morning to late night. If one house gets done the whole neighborhood will suffer . Has to get a car wash due to their sloppiness and lack of care for the neighbor's property. read more

cement work from Mezzacappa Concrete. From the beginning to the end it was pure perfection. We received an excellent proposal, they called to set up the job, they confirmed 3 days prior to the work getting started. They did an excellent job. The men were pleasant and they cleaned up after they were done. Tony and his brothers were so very nice. The cement dried to perfection with no imperfections. I must say if you want a great job done this company should get your job. I do a lot of reviews and research the internet on companies before I hire them and I'm telling you this is the company to call for a job well done. If I can give them a 10 star rating I would. Thank you Tony, Jeff and the rest of the brothers and the crew read more

The work that I've seen you do is really like a master piece. They are the worst concrete people there is on Staten Island I am so sorry that I hired them first of all I had drainage all over my backyard surroundings I had told them I wanted the concrete the same way it was he didn't do it that way he left half my backyard not done and water now goes into my neighbor's yard which I never had that problem before because I had a dream system there which they did not put back second thing I had told him that his men had broken my lamp post Tony the owner his answer to me was what you think my men would doing planting flowers a good businessman would have said I apologize I'll pay for the damages my concrete is not even a year old and it already has a hairline crack running all the way from the side of my house into my backyard I call him and he tells me that he could do it over for an extra $4,000 first of all I wouldn't hire this man to fix anything or hire this man to do another job the only reason that concrete cracked cuz there is no way he put Expansion Joints in between he gave me two large of slabs and that's why you're cracked he took away all my drainage that I had along the whole perimeter of my yard he's arrogant he's rude he doesn't even he's not even on the job all that Tony does is come by and his big red truck to pick up the money he doesn't even over see he does nothing he's in it for the money he doesn't care what kind of quality work he does or his workers do read more

After looking at looking at my torn up driveway and sidewalk due to tree roots and age I decided it's time to get this done. After meeting with 4 masons Tony was the only one who gave a written estimate. So I figured this was a good start. Plus my neighbor had their work done by Mezzacappa 12 years ago, and not a crack. And theirs was a HUGE job. These led to my deciding factors aside from being lic/ins/bonded etc. This family run operation is second to none on the island!! They we were polite, efficient, promt, clean, respectful and best of all they communicated everything every step of the way. The day of work went very smoothly without incident! And the icing on the cake is that price wise, they were best I came across by a lot! I highly recommend this company! The proof is in the work, and the longevity that they've been around for. Can't thank these guys enough! Great work all around from the office to the labor! read more

I needed back patio redone...old pavers removed, patio leveled out, cemented, and new pavers installed. I also needed front walk and steps be redone due to sinking concrete. First impression of Tony: true professional. Immediately provided me with business card, listened to what I wanted done and gave me a written proposal (no other "professional" I contacted did that). My only complaint was that I had a six week wait, but that was my fault for calling so late in the season (after another contractor stood me up). The day of the job, Tony came with his crew. Work began immediately and both jobs were completed in one day. Tony's workers were fantastic; polite, very neat, and conscientious ...they left the work area immaculate. An issue occurred two days later (air conditioner leaked oil on new pavers while being re-installed) and Tony responded immediately to my many panicked calls. He came out, inspected the damage, and sent his men out the following week to remove the damaged pavers and install new ones...all at his cost! As he says, he takes pride in his work and I can attest to it personally! I will recommend this company whenever I can, and they will certainly be the first I call when I need concrete work done. read more
