It was a nice little stop on our tour of Cozumel! We signed our names in honor of our sons Engagement they say before and definitely plan on coming back! The pineapple rum dessert was amazing!

Cute family friendly place on the ocean

Worth the drive to the east side of the island. Gorgeous views. BEST margaritas on the island. Inside is a huge bar and tables in the sand and hammocks for lounging. Outside are palapas right at the water. Great seafood selection. Ceviches, fish tacos, nachos and more. We got the fish tacos, conch ceviche and nachos. All were expertly prepared. Lots of gluten-free and dairy-free options. Kid-friendly options too. We can't recommend this place more. It made our trip!!!

Fun place to catch delicious food, swing in the hammock and enjoy the view of the ocean. Not supercheap but still a great spot! simple yet clean bathroom.

Very much worth the drive or the bike ride or the taxi ride to see this side of the island and the beautiful wind swept beach....amazing you can have a beer on such a beautiful beach for only $2.50 !!! Fun!!

The view of the beach while sitting at at Mezcalito's is.. breathtaking and amazing. The name for the beach: Naked Beach Bathroom - not bad at all. Kind of hot in there. They have conch shells to show you which is the gender. It's hilarious. Some of my company folks chose to take the ferry and use mopeds to get to Cozumel's beaches. It was kind of a pain to do everything, but once we arrived, it was all worth it. Mezcalito's is kind of your typical restaurant that has tables and a bar. But the are no walls facing the ocean since it's right on the beach. But they have walls when facing other directions. So if it's hot outside, you'll feel it there, too. However, you'll be under a roof and in the shade! Not a bad place at all to get your drink on and hang out. If you're sitting near the beach stairs, you'll see hammocks that have a pine straw roof, mini tables, as well as chairs. So - get a couple drinks in you and feel free to slowly fall asleep in the hammocks. Best thing ever! My group had a lunch and slowly went down there to soak in everything. Food: Honestly, our resort food was kind of bad. Therefore, the food here is welcomed and we were stoked. I had the steak fajita and it was DELICIOUS. And given in a huge portion. I loved that they had onions and & red peppers. And it tasted legit. Salsa & Guac - not complimentary, but super good. The salsa though was spicy. I accidentally had a big bite of it and had a pepper. AHH. I was coughing and gasping for air. But it's ok - that's what I get for being a fatty, haha. The Margaritas came in super cute cups. Wish I took 1 home :(

Dropped in after finding The restaurant next door was closing. So, without any expectation my wife and I went in to check out the menu. We decided to share a dish, the seafood platter that had shrimp, fish and salad. The fish was amazing, probably the best I've ever had, and I'm not one for most seafood. The shrimp was cooked to perfection. Prices are ok, I think it was about $14 USD. The quality of the fish though, a must try.

The view from the patio. A storm was coming but it was still a great day.

The first stop on the island tour for me every year. A great view and a friendly staff. What more could you want?

One of the best locations in the Americas. Enjoy the wind and waves. Great Margaritas. Reommend Super Shrimp or grilled catch of the day. Flavio and crew have been taking care of us for many years.

My husband got sirloin tacos off the rotisserie. I got a pollo plate. So good! We also added on guac, chips and a potato taco. Everything was great. Will come again. No gimmicks, just seriously good tacos. The tacos were packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and served hot and fresh every time. You can taste the quality and the technique especially in the way the meat is cooked and carved. Everything felt simple but done right, which honestly is what makes a taco stand out. The atmosphere is lively and busy (for good reason), but service moves quickly and efficiently. It feels like the kind of place locals actually eat at, not just a tourist trap with hype. We fully intended to try different taco spots around Playa del Carmen... but after our first visit, we couldn't resist coming back. When a place makes you change your food itinerary, you know it's worth it. If you're in Playa and debating whether it lives up to the hype it does!!

After seeing the great reviews here, we schlepped a couple extra blocks (despite a bit of rain) to visit for lunch. Well worth it. We liked Colores y Sabores so much that we returned on another day. Equally fantastic. The Margaritas (I got Mango) are great. Don't ask for frozen mango margarita because, although they will do it, it lessens the flavor of the fresh mango. Tried it both ways, so I can say for sure, lol. The Beans are something you do not want to miss. Something special about them here. The guacamole and pico de Gallo and chips are the way you'd hope: fresh, crunchy, not greasy and just enough pop. Enchiladas are fantastic - and there are three options for how you can get it. The Mole is outstanding - a little smoky, tons of rich flavor. I rarely order fajitas - but I wanted to go simple one day. Perfect. Tender chicken, and caramelized onions and peppers. Try corn or flour tortillas -- or both, like I did. Another day, I tried the tortilla soup and loved it. Soothing, simple, with strips of chicken and crunchy tortilla. We also got the chicken tacos, which were great. 3, with beans and guacamole on corn tortillas. Our fave, though, was the Chile Relleno. Heavenly. Ground beef stuffed inside and this dish was as satisfying and delicious as anything we encountered on the trip. The Carrot Cake! Definitely recommend that, too. Just sweet enough, and homemade.

We had Cherry Bombs and then Arroz Negro, which was black rice w/ grilled octopus, scallops and braised leaks in a citrus beurre blanc w/ green beans and also a fish of the day which was Mahi Mahi in a curry mole. This was a couple blocks away, and it wasn't crowded. This is a relatively small restaurant with a handful of tables in the back. There's lots of greenery and low light. Because we were sitting outside they offered bug spray so that we wouldn't get bitten too much. We started off with the roasted octopus appetizer - delicious. Perfect texture and flavoring. I was clearly on an octopus kick that evening because I decided to get the octopus risotto. A little less flavor than the appetizer, but still pretty good nonetheless. I tried some of my friend's red snapper which was tasted good. For a nightcap, I chose the Oaxaca mule, which is a lot like your average mule, but with a nice smoky aftertaste. Overall a nice, affordable place to grab dinner in Cozumel!

Lanterns hang from the trees casting a warm amber glow, everything feels soft and intimate, and a live band playing low-key jazz ties it all together. It's cozy, a little romantic, and honestly one of the better dining atmospheres on the island. Hard to say how it translates during the day, but at night, it works. The Food The food holds its own, even if the setting gets most of the attention. By Cozumel standards, it's some of the better food we had on the island. The menu leans creative but still approachable. We tried a bit of everything. The Mexican dumplings were fine. Not bad, not memorable. The trio of guacamoles was a hit, especially the one with fruit and bacon, which sounds questionable but works really well. The queso was exactly what you expect. Good, comforting, not trying to reinvent anything. The standout surprise was the tortillas. Freshly made and easily one of the best parts of the meal. They elevated everything they touched. The meat tacos were also very solid, well-seasoned and satisfying. Dessert was the house specialty, a cornbread-based dish with ice cream and toppings. Don't remember the name, but I remember finishing it, which says enough. Service Service was good across the board. Friendly, efficient, nothing over the top but nothing missing either. Overall Kondesa is worth visiting for the atmosphere alone, but the food makes sure it's not just a pretty place. Come for dinner, take your time, and enjoy the setting.
