Coconut Shrimp

This restaurant is located at the front yard and the hallway of a mansion. The food is good. The service is good. The environment is good. I feel like I'm eating in a forest.

The mission gardens surrounding are beautiful

The most wonderful seafood platter. Soup. Fresh handmade in the dining room fresh corn tortillas and habanero salsa. . Lobster, shrimp, fish with rice and fresh vegetables cooked to perfection. Including ice cream. Abundant staff to wait on your every need. Open air ambulance surrounded by a lovely garden. A must stop.

This place is a must try if you are in Cozumel. The grounds alone are worth the visit. They make their own tequila and it's family owned. We did some tequila tasting then went to dinner in their restaurant. We had a fish and shrimp ceviche. It was so fresh and probably one of the best I ever had. Part of the meal is their chicken lime soup. It was fresh and tasty. For our entree, we had a surf and turf of filet mignon and a warm water lobster. The steak was tender and cooked to the requested temp. The lobster was scrumptious. We had a mariachi band to entertain us while we waited for our food. Love, love this place.

This restaurant is a total delight. The perfect combination of ambiance, service, food and price. With the addition of avocado and pico, the shrimp cocktail became a culinary WOW moment, easily the best I've ever had. The coconut crusted grouper was outstanding and a generous portion, enough for two. The lime soup was delicious. Drinks were well made and strong. Multiple staff for each table runs like clockwork. The facilities and grounds are beautiful, with an Old World vibe. A place where you'd like to spend the day. The surprise was the excellent strolling musicians who took requests. Normally, I like to eat authentic food where the locals eat so I've been avoiding Casa Mission for many years. (I thought it was a cheesy tourist trap or like something you'd find in Disney Epcot). That was a massive mistake on my part. Casa Mission was GREAT so I guess that makes me a Cheesy Tourist. I can't wait to go back, which is my highest compliment.

We had a huge group and the employees did a great job keeping things straight for everyone. The gardens are beautiful and the drinks came quickly. They make a table side guacamole that was delicious. And they brought complementary tortilla soup. Maybe that was because we were a group. Hubs tried the ribeye and I tried the Mexican plate. We also had some flan and a couple bottles of water . The price was really great. The restaurant area Is clean and the workers are very efficient.

The place is so cute, great service, I love they make guacamole at the table, the food is good, I will definitely go back there next time I go to Cozumel!

OMG..... The absolute BEST overall dining experience EVER! The property is inland about a mile, surrounded by a tall concrete wall, inside the wall u find tall trees, plants literally everywhere, blooming flowers, trees, bushes...trails to walk amongst, then there is the 'Casa'.. such a beautiful, quant, welcoming setting! The entire staff makes u feel like a member of their 'family'. THE best Margarita ever while walking around waiting. FOOD: fresh pico prepared at the table, fresh guacamole was wonderful, homemade lime/tortilla soup made u want more. My wife ordered coconut shrimp, which was large and prepared great...enough to share. The Grouper for me was grilled, sautéed in garlic/butter and spices...not 'fishy' at all, taste was amazing! I had their homemade vanilla/chocolate ice cream that tasted so good. A waiter prepared my wife's flaming , 'Sexy' coffee, which was a performance in itself and tasted even better! The price of 'everything' was extremely reasonable! We WILL definitely be going again on this trip and every other to Cozumel!

We recently visited Casa Mission restaurant while docked at Cozumel as a part of our cruise. Knowing I'd be in Cozumel, I (of course) consulted Yelp to find recommendations of where to eat for lunch. Given that we were going to be eating lunch on New Year's Eve and I wasn't sure how crowds might be, I was very pleased to be able to make a reservation on the restaurants website in advance. We took a taxi to the main center of Cozumel from the cruise port ($10). We then decided to walk to the restaurant. If you are at the town Square (where the big Cozumel sign/photo site is located near the water), it is roughly a 15 to 20 minute walk to the restaurant. The restaurant is surrounded by large walls, so from the street it does not look like much of anything. Once you enter, you are greeted with the most beautiful garden. You can explore the grounds and also there is a tequila tasting booth located there as well. Upon entering the courtyard of the restaurant, we were greeted by a lovely employee and brought us to our table. I noticed there were some tables indoors, but everyone was sitting outside at lunchtime. I was also told that the restaurant is actually a house as well. The service was very attentive and friendly. All the people we interacted with could speak English to be able to order with ease. We started with a queso fundido. Unfortunately, this was the only item that we ordered that didn't impress. It was a bit too oily, and if they address that issue, the appetizer will be perfect. The chips and tortillas provided were delicious. I had the fish which tasted very fresh as were the vegetables that accompanied the main course. Dishes served here are very similar to the Mexican restaurants I've enjoyed at home in the United States. While the food here is delicious, the star of the show is the setting. I'd say it is worth the walk (safe during the day per our experience) or taxi cab to visit this restaurant. While I'm sure many tourists visit here, it didn't feel as crazy and slammed as the restaurants I saw in the main part of town. This place was peaceful, and I imagine it must be beautiful at night as well!

A good ambiance with amazing mariachi! More expensive than other places we had gone, and the food was just okay - not bad though! We got a table for 2 without a reservation without any issues. They also have tequila tasting by on site, which I think is complimentary(?) but we didn't know that and had booked the tasting on Viator for $10pp.... Definitely try just showing up while you wait for your table or food. Overall, I don't feel like I need to go back, but it was still nice and seems good for big groups. They take credit card.

Lime soup

Good food, beautiful atmosphere!! The table side pico de gallo was wonderful and the lime soup fantastic. Main dishes were good but not great... but it was definitely worth the visit!!

Our goal when we got off the cruise ship was to find authentic Mexican food and boy did we find it! We tried the sampler and loved getting a little bit of everything they had to offer. My favorite from the sampler was the elote as I am a huge elote fan! I tried the margarita and I wasn't crazy about it as it was served a bit salty but still very good. The service was good not great as they forgot my toddlers meal after we tried to order it first to feed him on purpose quickly. Other than that they were attentive and good. The place was very homey as it seemed as we were eating in someone's home and there was a pretty garden to walk around after the meal. Overall, I am happy I went as it is a safe, good place to eat authentic Mexican food.

This old Mission is the perfect restaurant for a lazy afternoon lunch and margarita. The grounds are very tranquil, an ideal setting for any dinning experience. Now, although the menu was a bit Westernized, it contained enough authentic options to win the day... and let's be honest after several weeks in Cozumel, your going to want a Chicken Kiev in your life. My chicken Kiev was a succulent mix of old world flavors. I also ordered a side of freshly made guacamole that complemented my entree extremely well. This place was just what I needed to capture a day of relaxation and margaritas

Don't be fooled by the modest appearance, the food is top notch! It is a casual environment with tables in the back in an open air but covered courtyard. You will not find fresher seafood or more authentic dishes anywhere on the island. Diego, the chef-owner, and the rest of his team were so kind & welcoming. It was like eating at my favorite uncle's house. I am an avid and enthusiastic eater - fish tacos & ceviche are two of my all-time favorite foods and these are the absolute best I have ever had. Incredibly fresh, full of flavor, & generous portions at very reasonable prices. The guacamole was also very tasty. I look forward to returning during all my future visits to Cozumel.

Good food but kinda high prices…read more One of the people I was traveling with really wanted some fresh seafood and specifically ceviche. We found this place on Yelp and went to check it out. The place looks like a seafood market from the front but you enter to the back and there is a whole outdoor dining area with plenty of chairs and tables. It can get really warm on hot days but they have a bunch of big fans. We weren't super hungry so we shared a large guacamole and a large seafood ceviche grande. The guac was really sour/lemony but in a good way. I enjoyed it. The seafood ceviche had all sorts of seafood, including fish, shrimp, octopus and other goodies. The seafood in it tasted fresh and was delicious. The order was big enough for 3 people to share. We ended up paying about $80 which I thought was rather pricey for just some guac and ceviche to share. The ambience was super casual and nothing fancy. The service was cool. It is good seafood but just know it's on the pricier end.
