I just bought a house and needed the door handles, deadbolts, and mailbox rekeyed. I was able to…read moreschedule ahead of time and the service was prompt and smooth. I was a little surprised by the price which is why I dropped a star. It was quoted a tiny bit high but still around the competition (most quotes came out to $180-280), but was completed higher than competitors in the end. That being said, I don't know if the actual price from competitors would have been higher than their quotes. For transparency here, I paid a $65 service fee plus $55 per house lock. The mailbox was a higher charge at $125. I was quoted $200-300 (probably assuming 3 locks rather than the 4 I ended up needing); it came out to about $410 plus tax. The result is the same. I have a fully rekeyed home and mailbox. Service was excellent. The vehicle was well marked and the Johnny was very professional and easy to work with.

Let me preface by saying I almost have subpar experience with most locksmiths. I find a company…read morewith good reviews (maybe they're paying for reviews), call them, it ends up being a call center, and then some random guy (usually shady looking) shows up, then overcharges. This time I put forth the effort to ask for recommendations on the Next Door app, and that's how I found JDs... JDs Lock Shop was REALLY fast (showed up in about 20 minutes), and even charged me less than what he quoted me because he was able to repair the old lock (instead of replace). He even made a small repair to my back door while he was out, no charge, just wanted it to look right. Rare, old school, family business type service. 5 stars!!! This is how the world should work; honest, hard work, fair prices.

If I could leave Zero stars I would have. I called this company to inquire if my new electronic…read morelocks could be rekeyed to match . The lady who answered the phone informed me that yes they could be rekeyed and potentially could be made to match my original standard deadbolt key, depending on the brand. At no point did she indicate that if the electric lock was an off-brand it would be impossible to rekey them at all. She gave me a quote for the rekey service and indicated there would be a service charge for the trip. But again did not mention that if for some reason the technician was unable to perform the service we would be responsible for the service charge. When the technician arrived he looked at the keys and said it may not work because of the brand of electric lock. He was able to insert my standard key into the lock but said he would have to call his boss to ask if he could attempt to rekey the locks . The boss told him He could not rekey the locks because they were an off brand and then they informed me I would still be required to pay the service charge. I let them know that this possibility had not been communicated and asked if the fee could be waived. They said it could not, so I called the office after the tech left and they gave me the number of the boss. When I spoke with Ben (owner) he was condescending and rude, spoke over me and interrupted me and when I informed him that I would have to leave a negative review about their poor customer service, he accused me of extortion! It was quite possibly the worst customer service I've ever encountered in my 23 years of home ownership.

Okay, so a while back, I finally decided to buy a second keyfob for my car. I've had it over a decade with one key. I reached out to Lulus, had a spare that day. Less than 10 minutes in the process, at my home. Good thing, because recently my original key went bye bye. Called up Lulus again, wanted an oem fob to replace. They put in an order while I was on vaca. My first day back and within hours of contacting them, tech shows up, 10 minutes, new OEM fob. Yes, competitively priced. I called two others to price out OEM fobs. Still went with Lulus, but I always compare. Sometime the key to a good life, is knowing a good locksmith that can provide an actual key.
