The stuffed pepper with walnut cream sauce

What a lovely find! Recommended by someone we met at ACME Grocery. Very nice ambiance, clean and welcoming. Ricardo was our server and he was wonderful, attentive and explained the various unique dishes. This restaurant offers very unique cuisine from various areas of Mexico. My husband ordered the Chiles En Nogada which was absolutely incredible! A stuffed chili with ground beef and pork, fruit, walnuts and warm spuces, topped with a walnut cream sauce and pomegranates! Wow!! Bursts of flavors with every bite! Refried beans and rice were delicious and the crispy beef taco was great. We will return!!

Who would've thought amazing food would be in a strip mall? Only in Hockessin! My friend suggested I go here and it was the best meal I've had in a while! I will definitely be returning. The waitress was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely attentive. She anticipated our needs before we even knew them. They have great Mexican beers on draft. An extensive menu. And desserts that I should have made room for, Tres Leches and Flan!Again, on my next trip. If you're anywhere in southeastern, Pennsylvania or Delaware, you should check this place out! I highly recommend it.

Ambiance basic. Looks like and old pizza place. Had a good crowd later on. Service good but ordered two basic beef tacos. One came out with just lettuce and cheese. Don't see the Mexican/California fusion. If i lived 2 minutes away maybe i would go again. Its basics MIDs. The sangria is great. Best part of the dinner. Salsa pretty good

Finally got the wife to join me at the best Mexican place near our new place that also has a full service bar. I guess my birthday had something to do with it. lol It wasn't too long after we were seated and ordered drinks and queso that we noticed a party of 16 show up next to us. Four couples and 8 kids. Gee, this never happens when I eat solo at the bar. Queso was a little runny, but the chips still warm so I didn't care. Both margaritas I had produced quite a wallop, and when paired with my delicious chicken chimichanga, it was lights out in the passenger seat on the way home. Joan enjoyed the taco salad with grilled shrimp as well. A gluttonous cap to my birthday was had by all.

People usually rave about their tacos, enchiladas, and fajitas. I, on the other hand, enjoy their American cuisine with a Mexican twist. Chicken & chorizo penne pasta, burgers, and mango habanero wings. House margarita, mojitos, and Long Island iced tea (made by Maurizio) are a nice addition to their delicious food as well. Everyone is always friendly... servers and other customers. Feels just like home.

Meh. Place has gone down hill since my last review... Food is "ok." Could be much better. My wife ordered fajitas...they're supposed to come out sizzling and steaming...they weren't. My chimichanga was just averaged at best. Atmosphere is "ok." Could be much better. Why do you still have valentines stuff (balloons/decorations) up a week after Valentine's Day? Furniture is mismatched. Lighting is odd. Also--your restrooms are FREEZING! Turn up the heat. They now charge for extra chips/salsa...seriously? Since when...And why? #Absurd I can go to Border Cafe and get all the chips/salsa I want. Also... We ordered 1 queso. They brought out two on accident. Their mistake. We told them. No worries on our end. Then they took it back...? Very odd. Why not just leave it. Hospitality 101. Plus, are you planning to serve that to someone else after we just breathed all over it? Or, are you going to just throw it away anyway? Why not leave it and "wow" us? I realize times are tight, but come on. You're getting cheap! Place seems stingy now. Under new management? Dunno. But something seems off. Also, our waiter was out of it. Guy with nose right and man bun. Too casual. Guy walked passed us multiple times without checking on us. WE had to ask for refills multiple times. Guy need to be trained better and step up his game or just find another profession. He's weak. To spend $125 (see attached; that's BEFORE tip...which was unearned!) on a Wednesday night, you just expect more. Call me crazy. ‍ Bumping the 5 stars down to 2. Step it up!!!

We ate here a couple of weeks ago and it was great. They were quite busy but service was good- we didn't have to wait too long for anything. Started out with chips and salsa and we got a small order of guacamole . Very good. I got a mango mojito that I loved and my husband got a house margarita that he enjoyed. For my entree I got the enchilada's Del Mar . I was quite disappointed- I'd had it before and it was delicious, but this time the filling was just mush - like a fishy paste that you really couldn't tell what it was . The sauce on it was delicious. My husband got chicken breasts in sauce topped with cheese. It was served with rice and vegetables. He loved it . Even with my disappointing enchiladas I heartily recommend Mexican Table. Most things on the menu are very good.

Back…read morethen there weren't many great dining options nearby, so this quickly became our go-to place for special occasions. Over time we started sitting at the bar and eventually became regulars. The staff has always been wonderful and the drinks are consistently excellent. In the past few years we've started dining here more often because the food quality has noticeably improved. Whoever the current chef is has really elevated the menu. One standout for me is the vegetarian entrée, usually a squash dish with grains, seeds, seeds, cheese, and other seasonal ingredients. It's absolutely delicious. It's not easy to find restaurants that execute vegetarian dishes well, but they really do it right here. My husband almost always orders the burger and loves it. The crab cakes have also been a longtime favorite of mine -- they're packed with crab and very little filler, which is exactly how they should be. Service is consistently good, and we especially enjoy seeing our favorite server, Diana. One thing we have noticed over the years is that the restaurant seems to go through managers fairly often. We've never had issues with previous managers. In fact, we liked several of them very much. However, the current manager gives off a noticeably tense and unwelcoming vibe. She's often visible in the dining room and behind the bar, but frequently appears upset or glaring, which unfortunately makes the atmosphere feel uncomfortable. I also genuinely hope that the staff isn't experiencing that same tension behind the scenes, because the servers and bartenders here have always been excellent and deserve a positive work environment. In all the years we've been coming here, we've never needed to involve a manager because the staff handles things very well and keeps everything running smoothly. Recently, though, we were surprised by some small add-on charges. $5 for a side of vegetable sticks with an appetizer and $7-$8 for a side of fries. Those prices felt excessive for such simple sides. I'm not sure if this is the new grumpy manager's decision or the owner's, but that's almost as bad as a credit card fee which they do not charge. Thank goodness. I mean I get maybe $1 or $2 up charge for that stuff but $5 no. We truly love this restaurant and have supported it for two decades. The food, drinks, and staff keep us coming back. We just hope the management style can match the warm, welcoming experience that has always made this place special.

About twenty minutes later nobody had come over and the restaurant wasn't all that busy. A couple sat down around that time next to us who within a few minutes was visited by a server and given fresh bread. We waited another ten minutes until a little after 6:30 before going to the hostess who told us she'd let someone know. A few minutes later the server who was serving the couple directly next to us came to us, apologized and started our evening. We both ordered the scallop and shrimp risotto and a few minutes later our server came to tell us they were out of scallops. That happen but it's better if the server tells you up front what they are out of. I ended up still getting the risotto with double shrimp instead of both proteins and my friend got the short rib. She said the short rib was very tender. My food was good too. I had the bourbon mule to drink and it was too sweet for my tastes. The ambience was ok but I sort of got a negative vibe from the 30+ minute wait for a server who was inches away from us and didn't notice we weren't being served.

The first time I went there was in 2009 on the recommendation of a friend who used to have a Japanese restaurant. With job changes, going back to school, and plunging headfirst into a turbulent new career with multiple job changes, I never got back there until 2022. And guess what? They remembered me! The staff is genuinely friendly. They remember what I like, and a few times I've described dishes that weren't on the menu--and they made them perfectly. They actually listen, and that level of care is rare. The wine and beer selection fits my tastes really well, which is a nice bonus. Every time I visit, the atmosphere is happy and relaxed. I often see other customers come in and get greeted like old friends, and it's clear this place means something to a lot of people. It's not just a meal--it's a place that lifts your mood. In the rear of the shop, past the fine cheeses, freshly baked baguettes, and clam chowder that is to die for, Chef Mark has a small kitchen area and raised settings for 10 lucky people to sit, watch and learn as Chef Mark and his Sous Chef Ethan prepare a themed menu upon which the class participants get to enjoy. And enjoy is truly an understatement!!!! I've taken three of the classes and have booked three more. My first class was Italian steak which began with a hearty white bean, escarole, and sausage soup, followed by a fresh and balanced panzanella salad, which the class dined happily on while Chef Mark prepared the main event. It was a 2+ inch thick steak topped with Gorgonzola cheese and a caramelized onion sauce. The taste, size, and quality of this steak was not to be believed!!! Chef Mark must have some deep connection to the Beef Gods themselves. In short, a magnificent meal where I met some very nice people, learned a lot from Chef Mark who is low key but very personable and full of entertaining stories of his life and career as a chef including tips on buying quality, healthy, ingredients!! My last class was a Greek themed class. It began with a tasty starter of slices of his fantastic, and freshly made baguettes and a dipping sauce of whipped feta, topped with finely diced green onion, garlic, and sundried tomato!! The Chef does not play when he is tempting your taste buds. It was delicious!!! This was followed by a Greek Lemon Chicken Soup which tasted so fresh, clean, and healthy, I designated it as the first new recipe I will try and make myself. The chicken, carrots, and soft rice in a yummy lemon tinged chicken stock was pure heaven!!! And if I hadn't already had a fork stuck in me, I'm done feeling the main course is ready!! 2 inch thick lamb chops sourced from the Greek Gods themselves, over crispy, browned roasted potatoes which were also covered with the pan drippings!!! Just kill me now so I can die a happy man!!! Or maybe just wait till after dessert!!! Once again, a fantastic meal taught simply by a fantastic Chef, and Sous Chef and enjoyed completely by a nice group of people who wanted to learn and expand their culinary horizons. Chef Mark and Sous Chef Ethan without a doubt nourished our minds and even more importantly our bellies!!! Take a class and savor the experience!!!!
