We've ordered delivery from here before so I wasn't expecting much in terms of a dine in experience. We came at lunchtime on a Saturday and it was fairly quiet. It was really clean inside and ample space to relax. We decided to try a few dips with our chips and both were great. The skinny margarita was great, probably the best I had in this area. Ordered the mole poblano and was able to make a salad substitution which is great in terms of flexibility on the staff's part. It had a nice cocoa flavor and texture. Having thing cuts of chicken breast made it easy to cut and dress with the flavor of the sauce. Will definitely come again. read more

Tex mex it is. Usually get fajitas or alambre. Something tex-mexi so don't confuse it with plain Mexican. I got quesabirrias and tacos and they're pretty good. But it's pretty solid regarding size, flavor, price. read more

Despite the generic business name, Tex-Mex Burrito is a solid option for Mexican food in the Wilmington, Delaware area. The term burrito refers to the Spanish term burro which literally translates to "donkey," which is the animal incorporated into their logo. They have an extensive menu which includes lunch specials. Just beware that portions are quite large, so either be prepared to share or go home with leftovers. We ordered the chicken fajitas and chicken quesadillas, and a side of French fries after seeing another diner at a nearby table order them. The complimentary chips & salsa (4/5) were a tasty way to start off the meal. The fries (4.5/5) were a huge portion, perfectly crispy and salted just the right amount. There was a minor miscommunication with the waitress as we ordered the lunch chicken quesadillas with just chicken and cheese, but it came out with shredded chicken which included onions and peppers. She only then mentioned that lunch quesadillas come like that and we'd have to order the full dinner portion to get the grilled chicken version prepared with just chicken and cheese. Not a big deal, but she could have let us know when ordering so that food didn't have to be sent back. Both the chicken fajitas and quesadillas (4/5) were otherwise fresh and tasty in preparation, but nothing particularly amazing...just good reliable Mexican comfort food. The only suggestion I would have is to offer a spicier chicken tinga option like some places do to add some extra flair to the recipe to set them apart. Other than the one hiccup, service was pretty friendly, and the place welcoming with plenty of seating and nice decor. I'd definitely return when in the Wilmington, Delaware area. read more

This place is great. Best Mexican food around by far. I got delivery. I got the molcajete combo. The meat had great flavor cooked perfect. Chicken was good the chorizo was great and spicy. The red sauce gave the dish some heat. Some nopales and some avocado wrapped with the corn tortillas and meat. You'll have try it to believe it. read more

Their website and app notifications say that they deliver within 5 miles. My house is exactly 2.6 miles away and they claim they don't deliver in my area at all and won't explain why or try to accommodate. It's just really disappointing because the food is pretty good and in order for me to get it I have to drive instead of them honoring what they post on their website. I enjoyed the food I've gotten there. I think on the three occasions I've ordered food there, I've waited an average of 30 minutes after the expected order completion time. The last time, I sat in the parking lot for 45 minutes waiting - I called them when I got there too. The woman who brought my food out told me I should call the store to order take out rather than order through the grub hub app, which is an option. When the food came out, it was close to room temperature. Also, I am not certain, but am pretty sure I got food poisoning the last time I ate from there (after waiting in the parking lot for 45 minutes) some sort of stomach malady that put me down for 2 days. All I can say for sure is, I ate the food and about 1-2 hours later, I was not well in my gut for close to 2 days before feeling back to normal. I can confidently say this was some of the most delicious and authentic Tex-Mex cuisine I have found in Delaware. We were blown away by the quality (and quantity!) of the food we received. An absolute gem. Sat down for lunch yesterday at the bar area and got greeted immediately with kindness and good service. I wanna say the guy behind the bars name was Saul but I'm not 100% sure. If you haven't tried this place you're missing something good. Open 2 months. We tried Shrimp and Beef Fajitas, Burrito Deluxe and chicken quesadilla. The generous bowl of chips were fresh. Salsa also fresh perfectly seasoned and not too spicy. Service was the best part. Friendly. Courteous. We were the only table that sat outside still he checked on us several times. One night, I was craving a GOOD burrito and decided to try Tex-Mex Burrito for delivery. I have to say, I was NOT disappointed! The food was hot (both temperature and spice) and delicious. I wasn't able to eat all of it, so I saved it for the next day- it reheated wonderfully and was almost as delicious as when it was freshly made. The food is delicious! 1st take our order we had the molcajete. Just...wow! The flavor was so good. 2nd take out, we ordered 4 tacos with corn tortillas (each came with 2 tortillas). But didn't deliver curbside, I had to go in after sitting there for quite some time, call when you arrive or just go in. This place is sometimes a hit and miss. But when it's good it's good and when it's Bad it's bad. I ordered a steak quesadillas it was hardly any meat and cheese.
