We had a delicious meal tonight! The chicken/steak fajita was delicious! A single was plenty for 2 of us. We also split the pork and pineapple burrito. Very good! The flavors were perfect. We also had 2 skinny margaritas that were quite yummy. Paul was our bartender. He did a great job! read more

Food is good, but be prepared for indifferent, unhelpful, dismissive staff. Order mixups are handled in the worst possible way: First you get an uncomprehending stare, then are ignored. When you ask about the $32 online payment you just made to them, they shrug. "Yeah, we're on GrubHub, but we don't accept orders from GrubHub, so they have your money." That's it? How about helping me reorder my food? How about getting off GrubHub? How about acting like you care just a tiny, teensy bit for your customer? I had been a long time takeout customer, but will be heading elsewhere after seeing how little they care - I suggest Machete Mobile nearby, or Tonalteca. read more

A hidden gem. Everything about Tex-Mex was amazing. Fresh chips and salsa hit the table the second we sat down and were refilled as soon as they started to get low. We both ordered Chimichangas (Chorizo and Steak) and they were delicious! The staff was incredibly attentive, and friendly. The restaurant was spotless and the atmosphere was perfect. I have no idea how this place wasn't packed!! Cannot wait to come back again and bring all our friends! read more

I changed my rating from 4 to 5 stars. These people are the main reason I can't lose weight. Highly recommend the 4 Amigos taco platter. Very fond of verde enchiladas with beef, and all the other enchilada flavors are good. The mixed fajita is solid. Burrito bowls are good. Huge portions. Minor criticisms: The salsa for chips has a hint of chipotle peppers; I would rather get my heat from fresh jalapeños. The grilled whole onion that occasionally comes with tacos is pointless garnish and goes in the trash. read more

Great location, Decor is plain but it is clean. We had the regular tacos, $2.50 each, and All the tacos were delicious but my favorite was the marinated pork. The chorizo fries were delicious and cheesy. The Tres Leches cake was a large size but did not taste that good or fresh, considering they have a bakery and ice cream parlor at the site. The aqua frescas were fabulous, large and delicious. Overall the 8 of us were able to eat well for $88. We will be dining in again. Thank you! read more

We've ordered delivery from here before so I wasn't expecting much in terms of a dine in experience. We came at lunchtime on a Saturday and it was fairly quiet. It was really clean inside and ample space to relax. We decided to try a few dips with our chips and both were great. The skinny margarita was great, probably the best I had in this area. Ordered the mole poblano and was able to make a salad substitution which is great in terms of flexibility on the staff's part. It had a nice cocoa flavor and texture. Having thing cuts of chicken breast made it easy to cut and dress with the flavor of the sauce. Will definitely come again. read more

Truly one of the most horrible and unprofessional restaurant establishments in all of Delaware! Don't waste your time or money patronizing this establishment. They have the most incompetent management and are incapable of delivering within a one-mile radius in under an hour and a half. P.S. Their pastries are just awful and taste like chalk. read more

Excellent fresh Mexican food, warm service, and a great little place in North Wilmington.

Tex mex it is. Usually get fajitas or alambre. Something tex-mexi so don't confuse it with plain Mexican. I got quesabirrias and tacos and they're pretty good. But it's pretty solid regarding size, flavor, price. read more

The food was incredible with more than enough!! Service was great- quick and efficient!

Efficient service. The food is fairly reasonable and tasty. Would be nice to have live music.

This place is great. Best Mexican food around by far. I got delivery. I got the molcajete combo. The meat had great flavor cooked perfect. Chicken was good the chorizo was great and spicy. The red sauce gave the dish some heat. Some nopales and some avocado wrapped with the corn tortillas and meat. You'll have try it to believe it. read more

Tex-Mex Burrito - Molcajete Mexicano with rice beans, chips, and salsa. - Tex-Mex Near Me - Wilmington, Delaware

Despite the generic business name, Tex-Mex Burrito is a solid option for Mexican food in the Wilmington, Delaware area. The term burrito refers to the Spanish term burro which literally translates to "donkey," which is the animal incorporated into their logo. They have an extensive menu which includes lunch specials. Just beware that portions are quite large, so either be prepared to share or go home with leftovers. We ordered the chicken fajitas and chicken quesadillas, and a side of French fries after seeing another diner at a nearby table order them. The complimentary chips & salsa (4/5) were a tasty way to start off the meal. The fries (4.5/5) were a huge portion, perfectly crispy and salted just the right amount. There was a minor miscommunication with the waitress as we ordered the lunch chicken quesadillas with just chicken and cheese, but it came out with shredded chicken which included onions and peppers. She only then mentioned that lunch quesadillas come like that and we'd have to order the full dinner portion to get the grilled chicken version prepared with just chicken and cheese. Not a big deal, but she could have let us know when ordering so that food didn't have to be sent back. Both the chicken fajitas and quesadillas (4/5) were otherwise fresh and tasty in preparation, but nothing particularly amazing...just good reliable Mexican comfort food. The only suggestion I would have is to offer a spicier chicken tinga option like some places do to add some extra flair to the recipe to set them apart. Other than the one hiccup, service was pretty friendly, and the place welcoming with plenty of seating and nice decor. I'd definitely return when in the Wilmington, Delaware area. read more

Good size portion of chicken and veggies. The salsa was fairly bland. Chicken was tender and nicely marinated.

Their website and app notifications say that they deliver within 5 miles. My house is exactly 2.6 miles away and they claim they don't deliver in my area at all and won't explain why or try to accommodate. It's just really disappointing because the food is pretty good and in order for me to get it I have to drive instead of them honoring what they post on their website. Because of that I look for food else where when I don't feel like driving up. It'd be 4-5 stars but professionalism is first for me when I put my money into a business read more

I enjoyed the food I've gotten there. I think on the three occasions I've ordered food there, I've waited an average of 30 minutes after the expected order completion time. The last time, I sat in the parking lot for 45 minutes waiting - I called them when I got there too. The woman who brought my food out told me I should call the store to order take out rather than order through the grub hub app, which is an option. When the food came out, it was close to room temperature. Also, I am not certain, but am pretty sure I got food poisoning the last time I ate from there (after waiting in the parking lot for 45 minutes) some sort of stomach malady that put me down for 2 days. All I can say for sure is, I ate the food and about 1-2 hours later, I was not well in my gut for close to 2 days before feeling back to normal. It's a shame to have to write this review, but those are my experiences. Highly doubtful I will return. read more

Food amazing. Margarita out of this world. CLEANLINESS TOP TIER! I hope this place doesn't close like everything else in Claymont.

Amazing Mexican food, plus they give you free chips and homemade salsa. ... The food was excellent, me and my wife orderef the Fajitas de Camaron plus beef, the spices and the sauce was very tasty. ... It was more than enough and we had leftovers. Service is wonderful and I've been always greeted. read more

Food was delicious! I had the Hawaiian tacos with rice and beans and a golden margarita- I almost needed 2 hands to lift it! My husband had pulled pork with pineapple and his was also very good. This was our first visit and I would highly recommend it. We will be back again. read more

This place came highly recommend from a close friend who lives in the neighborhood behind this establishment. I can confidently say this was some of the most delicious and authentic Tex-Mex cuisine I have found in Delaware. We were blown away by the quality (and quantity!) of the food we received. Everything came out piping hot and full of flavor. Our server, Gaby was incredibly knowledgeable despite being so new and she was so attentive to our table of six, continuously refilling our drinks as well as our chips and queso! Looking forward to returning soon! read more

If you haven't tried this place you're missing something good. Open 2 months. We tried Shrimp and Beef Fajitas, Burrito Deluxe and chicken quesadilla. The generous bowl of chips were fresh. Salsa also fresh perfectly seasoned and not too spicy. Service was the best part. Friendly. Courteous. We were the only table that sat outside still he checked on us several times. Oh did I mention the huge portions which often isn't a motivator for us because we can't eat it all but these leftovers we will look toward this week. Can't wait to go back!! read more

An absolute gem. Sat down for lunch yesterday at the bar area and got greeted immediately with kindness and good service. I wanna say the guy behind the bars name was Saul but I'm not 100% sure. Super nice dude that was a great server. They brought out chips and salsa and I ordered the crunchy taco meal with rice and beans. The food was great. Definitely will be coming back. read more

Got takeout and was the best Mexican I've had in Wilmington so far! Got the chicken fajitas burrito and it was very tasty.

Food is delicious and portions are a great size. We recently moved to N Wilmington and we love ordering here!!

It's been a long time since I've had Mexican food this good. Food was excellent as was the service. We had choriqueso dip. My wife had pineapple fajitas with chicken and shrimp served in a pineapple. I had tri color enchiladas. We left there very full and very happy... Chips and salsa were good too. I lived 17 yrs in California and this restaurant was just as good. Thank you Yelp for helping us find this spot. It's got indoor and outdoor dining. Plenty of parking and easy to locate. Service was great. We got cheese dip which was plentiful. Salsa is good albeit spicy. Based on another yelp review we got the chicken tacos which absolutely are some of the best we've ever had. Food seems very fresh!! Bean burrito was also great and came with rice, lettuce, and sour cream. Delicious sauce on it. I'd come back in a heartbeat and highly recommend. read more

One night, I was craving a GOOD burrito and decided to try Tex-Mex Burrito for delivery. I have to say, I was NOT disappointed! The food was hot (both temperature and spice) and delicious. I wasn't able to eat all of it, so I saved it for the next day- it reheated wonderfully and was almost as delicious as when it was freshly made. Now that I know this restaurant is so delicious, it is definitely on my list of places to eat. read more

The food is delicious! 1st take our order we had the molcajete. Just...wow! The flavor was so good. 2nd take out, we ordered 4 tacos with corn tortillas (each came with 2 tortillas). It is authentic with diced onion and cilantro. The hot salsa that came with tacos was amazing! My husband had burritos (beef tips) in red sauce. He very much enjoyed it. We also ordered 2 kids quesadillas that came with rice and fries. It was a lot of food for under $40. It's a new go to place for us! read more

My favorite place to get take out from. Food is scrumptious! Margaritas are amaze! I've tried so much on the menu. Never ever disappointed

Food is ok, ordered from here twice, I was more impressed by the food the first time. Large portions, decent flavor the first time. But didn't deliver curbside, I had to go in after sitting there for quite some time, call when you arrive or just go in. That was annoying, especially when the delivery girl saw me sitting there when she delivered food to someone else. Last night the food was a little bland, I asked for an extra salsa, not sure why- it's cold blended tomato juice for as far as I'm concerned, absolutely zero flavor, no spice at all. Your old grandma who thinks everything is spicy can eat their salsa And I was charged extra for it. Disappointed in that - I will give them one more try since they are so close / hopefully they improve the flavor, specifically on the salsa! I can skip the shredded salad side. read more

This place is sometimes a hit and miss. But when it's good it's good and when it's Bad it's bad. I ordered a steak quesadillas it was hardly any meat and cheese. One cut literally only had one lil cut of steak. And the tortilla was not even cooked. Think I will give this place a break for a while. read more
