I called MexicanPost from N.Carolina to find a spot for a team dinner / Birthday. The owner,Anuja,could not have been nicer. She let my friend come in early and decorate and bring a surprise bday cake for my daughter. 45 of us came in to eat after a long day of Lacrosse. The restaurant was ready for us! Food was delicious and so fresh ! We didn't have to wait for anything. Anuja brought out the cake and surprised my daughter after dinner. She even supplied the plates and forks ! If I could give less than one star I would. Such a shame, this place has great food, but, TERRIBLE service!!! Management is just horrific, understaffed and almost always NO BARTENDER!! These guys do a lot of take out and bar service and the NEVER have a bartender. I don't think one should get their entire meal before their drink?! When you have to walk up to the bar and request your drink, ask for the manager at the table because more than one order is wrong and then have the manager come over and say "what's wrong now", it's most definitely time to part ways from that establishment. If you don't mind awful service, don't drink and mind incorrect orders. This place is for you. So long Mexican Table; it's been real. read more

Very good Mexican food. Pleasant atmosphere. Through restaurant restrictions, they have developed a policy to limit table times to 1 to 1 1/2 hrs. Definitely need to call ahead. While I understand them wanting to seat as many parties as possible, I'd recommend somewhere else if you want to rest and leisure. read more

Mexican Table is one of our Go-To places in Hockessin. We go there for the food and service usually every week. Lidia is amazing and always friendly and accommodating. I get the Chimichangas, my Wife and Son get the Ceviche, and my daughter gets the fiesta Tacos. We always get the Guacamole and we have never been disappointed. read more

I have been plagued with food poisoning since my husband and I ordered takeout one week ago. The salsa tasted sour and I think that was the source. We have been ordering from there every Friday for the last three months but, unfortunately, we will not return to this restaurant. Very disappointed because we liked the food although, that particular night the food in total was not a good quality! Avoid this place! Before this incident, I would have agreed with you about your food, however, there was clearly something off with the salsa, it tasted sour. Two hours after eating a very small amount of it, I was violently ill and unfortunately, it lingered for several days. There is absolutely no other explanation for my stomach issue. read more

We like to support local businesses but we're not coming here anymore. The owner nickel and dimes his patrons with below par drinks and charges for every "extra." I ordered nachos and asked for jalepenos and sour cream and got charged an extra $6. We were also surprised to be charged for the extra chips we asked for. Do yourself a favor. It is rare the yelp lets me down this bad. Walked in and waited 10 minutes for a waiter. Chips were stale and it took 10+ minutes to get our water and beer, then they brought the wrong appetizer. We got the chorizo queso and it was good, but we didn't get plates to eat on. The food was just ok, nothing compared to the Mexican food I have had in Kennett but this place was much more expensive. Although you can order a delicious assortment of fajitas and red or green- sauce traditional Mexican dishes, it is the creative nouveau Mexican inspired options that are truly memorable. The creamy poblano soup is a must try and there is a frequently changing list of gourmet specials. Was not impressed. My husband and I were seated right away, unfortunately our table wasn't wiped off. I rested my arm on the table and it was sticky. I looked and saw stuff was spilled on it. We told the waiter and instead of wiping it off he moved us to another table. We ordered poppers and I must say they were very good. The rest of our meal wasn't. Placed an order online to pick up food. Website advised me it would take 30 mins to be ready. I arrived promptly 30 mins later, and waited at the bar for my food. The restaurant was 70% empty and the bar only had one couple. Not only was it not ready, but I was lied to as they said it was just being finished. 10 mins later, she asked my name and asked if it was an online order. When I confirmed it was, she scolded me for not saying that when I got there (I did btw, "I placed and order online for pickup"). She then scrambled to rush to get it done, and 20 mins later I left with my food. Even if this is the best Mexican food ever, I'll never be back. read more

Used to be OK, not so much now. We ordered steak, chicken, and shrimp fajitas, hoping for a descent meal. The estimated wait time was 40 minutes, not unusual for dinner time. Pickup was timely, with no apparent problems until we got home. Right off the start, it was obvious that the meals have been sitting for a while, hot food was barely warm, and the salad was reduced to a liquidy mess with barely any shredded lettuce visible (the heat wilted it). Timing estimate was way off, and no effort was made to separate the cold and hot portions of the meal, not even with a scrap cardboard separator. The fajita was dry, no sign of marinade or sauce, just completely dry. Shrimp was way overcooked, chicken meat was overcooked and dry, tasted frozen, and the steak must have come from the steer Mongo used to ride. Flavor must have been an option I missed on the menu. Salsa for the chips was also lacking anything beyond acidity. All this came with three tiny flour tortillas, just big enough to hold about a third of the proteins. We will not be making this mistake again. read more

This restaurant has been one of my absolute favorite. I have been a costumer here since I was a little girl. My absolute favorite food in the world is there chicken and chorizo pasta. I crave it all day everyday. I unfortunately only get it once every couple of weeks but it's still my favorite. Not only that item but all there items are absolutely amazing. There tortilla soup there rice. Everything ! I'm a well known costumer that even the main chef brought us out some free churros for coming every once in a while. The restaurant itself is beautiful and elegant but yet cozy. The staff is so nice. Hands down the best restaurant ever ! I defiantly recommend you all to come. read more

I like this place. It's under the radar and you feel like family here and always welcome. Most importantly, the food is very good and prices are reasonable. The chef does a nice job of offering things you don't find on a typical "Mexican" restaurant menu, like the duck offerings, the poblano soup (all Nick's soups are very good), the napolitos salad... Is this place world class? I wouldn't go that far, but it's a great place to go for some very good upscale Mexican food in our area. The staff try very hard to accommodate everyone, from people with little kids to respectfully assisting the elderly like my Mother who cannot walk without help. read more

Food is great - margaritas (at least the $2.99 house special Lime Marg on Wednesdays ) are awful. Great nopalitas salad (Marinated cactus leaves) - fresh veggies and a light dressing. Shrimp Ceviche was HUGE and tasty. Serive at the beginning was great - but the server messed something up with my dining pal's credit card and we waited, and waited, and waited to pay our bill.
