Lackluster in my opinion. It's definitely not the cleanest looking place. Still we try the queso and it's broken and not flavorful, chips lacked salt and the salsa was ok. Queso was pricey at $11. I got the taquitos and they were basically one taquitos cut in thirds and covered in toppings. It was not great but what ruined it was getting something inedible inside of one of my chicken taquitos, turns out it was more than likely shrimp shell! Thank goodness I don't have a shellfish allergy. Eww I just don't know where it came from!! This place was pretty pricey and it's a one and done for me based on the taquito debacle.

Mexican Grill was a great restaurant to find while our visit to Poolesville. Eventhough it was packed due to a sports event in the area... they were able to accommodate our large group and service was excellent. Food was fresh and well prepared. Good Margaritas but my favorite was the Michelada beer.... (spicy Mexican mix and beer). Shrimp and chicken fajitas were awesome ... seasoned perfectly and tons of flavor. Mole enchiladas were also very good. Overall and on a difficult day this place was able to deliver great food at a very reasonable time and price.

You order at a counter and are given a number to display at your table. Our food took only a few minutes to arrive. The server also brought over a box holding three salsas in squeeze bottles. The green salsa was pretty mild and the orange one was super hot. The dark one was, I think, chipotle. I didn't care for the chipotle. The tacos looked great and were each pretty packed with ingredients. Pollo tacos - I thought the chicken was a bit dry and, because of that, disappointing. Veggie - The veggie were filled with cooked onion, mushroom and peppers. Although they were well prepared and held a lot of veggies, there was no seasoning, so the taste was pretty flat/boring. I had to rely on adding guac and some salsa for flavor. I was hoping the veggie would have some flavor without having to rely on sauces. Al Pastor - was very good. Guacamole - comes "market price". The side we got was $3, which I think was a good value. The guac was flavorful and was a nice portion. I am glad I had it to supplement the disappointing Veggie taco and the dryness of the Pollo. The corn tortillas were good. The place is nice and comfortable.

We ordered The Mami, their massive 54oz margarita, and wow -- it was an absolute bomb. Supersized, delicious, and unlike anything you'll find in NOVA. I had the birria tacos, and my wife had the Mexican burger -- both were outstanding. Perfectly seasoned, generous portions, and full of flavor. Our bartender Emilson was the absolute best. Great service, great personality, and he made the whole experience even better. This spot delivers on every level. We'll definitely back.

By far the worst Mexican restaurant experience we've had!…read more All of us ordered vegetarian dishes and 2 out of 3 orders were messed up: First, we ordered the cheese quesadilla with veggies and it came with chicken. Thank goodness my dad checked first otherwise he would've ate it and he would've gotten sick! Second, we ordered the veggie enchiladas (no changes, adjustments, or substitutions) and my mom took a bite and spit it right out because she noticed the texture after taking a bite and it was shrimp! I think that was absolutely absurd to get, not just one, but two orders completely wrong! We are all vegetarian and it's against our religion to have any meat or seafood and both dishes came with one or the other. I also think it's kind of ridiculous and crazy that they can't accommodate vegetarians by substituting meat for veggies/beans! However, I will say the manager was nice about it all and asked if we wanted any dessert or replacements but we refused because we just lost our appetite. Was not worth our time! We won't be coming back here! It's def NOT for vegetarians.

I waited in line to place my order and it took a bit for one family to order but after a few minutes I was in front. Their menu didn't explicitly seem to have the birria tacos listed but I had seen that they were available every Tuesday on their website and they had an article printed about the birria tacos so I asked. The cashier let me know they serve birria tacos everyday! So I placed my order for two tacos and a tres leches. I grabbed water and sat down, expecting that they'd call out my name, but they actually serve your meals directly to you which was very nice! Someone also came around to bring the hot sauce rack to my table which was very nice, as I was interested in trying these. Everything was delicious. I loved the birria tacos, and the spicy hot sauce added a nice touch without being overwhelmingly spicy. The tres leches cake was brought to me at the end of my meal, and it was sweet and moist! Definitely a place to stop by if you're in the area!

There was an 85 cent uncharge for shrimp and shrimp tacos are one of my favorites (al pastor being another in my top 100). It looked delicious but as I was eating, I realized there were only TWO shrimp in it... and they weren't big either. The Chorizo may have been the blandest (most bland) chorizo I ever had. It had zero redness and tasted like ground beef dusted chorizo spice (I think the Spice Girls kicked her out early, BTW). The chicken taco was decent and what you'd expect. For &17 for 3 tacos and can of Coke Zero, I was disappointed. I should have just gone to Sheetz for their 6 tacos for $6 instead. IYKYK! ;)
