    3 Street Tacos

very delicious and affordable tacos. I got the steak and beef barbacoa tacos and they were fantastic. It was flavorful and balanced - each taco came with a radish which was refreshing to have on a taco. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Outdoor seating is available, which is great for when the weather gets cool.

The service was fast. Ordered three steak tacos. I would say they were average. For the cost of 12.90. It was a little expensive for what you get. No real ambiance. Just a few tables.

The best place to get tacos in the area, in my opinion. They are always so fresh and can never go wrong with any taco. All of them are yummy. The toppings are perfect. The taco size is very good. In always prefer the corn taco over the flour ones. There is a nice bite to it. My favorite are fish and chicken tinga. This time I also tried the tres leches. I was so pleasantly surprised. It was one of the best I had in a long time. Not too soggy or overly sweet. This is my goto place for tacos. N I always recommend it to friends. Finally I remembered to take pictures and got a chance to do a review here. :)

Consistently delicious! Interior is comfortable with ample parking accommodation. Their menu is very extensive for the quality of tacos provided here. I've been here in the morning to late evening, and have yet to experience poor quality of service.

Came here for lunch and the tacos were so good. Fresh cilantro and onions added a nice touch. The salsa they give on the side had a great kick to it. Staff was friendly and the food came out quickly. Definitely a new go to taco spot for me.

We came here on a Saturday lunch time with some friends. There was a self ordering option which was what we opted for. The ambiance was clean & casual! There was a good amount of seating inside, but each table accommodated around 4 people? We ordered tacos(Tinga, grilled chicken, bbq brisket, steak, grilled fish), rice &beans, chips&guac, elote corn & churros between me and my husband. FOOD tacos: The fillings of the tacos were basically the same--greens, guac, cheese, pico, crema? Out of the tacos we liked the bbq brisket the most! It was the most flavorful of the proteins. We liked the tinga the least--it tasted dark meat chickeny if you know what I mean... our friend also did not love her chicken tinga. All of the tacos ended up tasting kind of similar since all the toppings were the same. 3.5/5 Chips & guac- chips were solid. Not too thin and had a nice crunch with not too much or too little salt. The guac was fantastic! It was sooo creamy and velvety almost ganache like? But also had a good bite from the tomato and onions. I loved that it was Not too acidic (don't like sour guac). I might like this more than chipotles guac? 5/5 Rice & beans- both seasoned well! Flavorful. Not mushy 4/5 Elote- Delicious, tastes like elote. It wasn't drenched in mayo, which I liked. 4/5 Churros- these were underwhelming for me. I liked the actual churros, but not the filling inside. I think it was supposed to be dulce? But it tasted like super sweet and artificial--not a fan! At least it was cooked well. 2/5 I generally enjoyed everything I ate here. Some things were better than others. But what I appreciate is how fresh everything tasted! But honestly, my favorite thing about this meal was the house hot sauces! My fav was definitely the pineapple habanero and jalepeno one.

Wanted to grab a quick bite. We found this local gem while running errands. Tacos, burritos, bowls, quesadillas and salads. I had a shrimp and chicken ting taco (shrimp taco was devoured before I snapped a picture:) The tacos were packed full of flavor and I topped mine with a pineapple sauce, which was so yummy! I concluded my meal with some fresh churros. This place is awesome! Moderately priced and the food is great! I can't wait to come back and try something else.

I got the elotes side ($4.50) which they brought as an appetizer. Very yummy. For my main dish, I ordered the 3 tacos mix n' match ($10.89). I got one chorizo (not as tasty as I had imagined but good), one bbq brisket (very delicious), and 1 ground beef (solid - really just checking this out for my son). I had all the toppings except guacamole. As you can see in the photo, they "double" the corn tacos. You can also get flour tacos and they have several other protein choices that I'll sample next time. My friend had elotes as well, 2 tacos (grilled chicken and fish - which is grilled not fried - and rice. She enjoyed her meal as well. Even though this is a fast food-type place (order at the counter), the staff was very kind, bringing our order to the table and picking up our baskets at the end. We'll definitely return

Don't let the tacis distract you from the chimichanga!

Deliciousness - 4.5/5 Happiness - 4/5 I'm usually not impressed by high-end fast-casual taco joints like this (particularly after living in AZ and getting to go into low-end fast-casual authentic joints that would blow these kinds of places out of the water). But Zocalo delivers the goods! I got three tacos - Chicken Tinga, Beef barbacoa and fish. They do NOT skimp on the meat, you'll be sure to get protein with every bite. They also load it with toppings, so you'll never get a bite of just taco shell. That said, these were some of the freshest and most delicious corn tortillas I've had in ages. They remained sturdy and had a pleasing crunch to them. I also really enjoyed the hot sauces. The sauce wasn't runny, it was chunky and fresh. Each of the three (regular, extra hot, and verde) had distinct tastes, which I appreciated. And none of the hot sauces overwhelmed the tacos themselves. My wife got a chicken chimichanga. It was a bit too cheesy, but otherwise pretty good. And you definitely get a bang for your buck, as the chimichanga and assorted sides lasted two meals for her. Finally, I've got to mention the guacamole. It was so good, I got a separate order to go. I liked the decorations for the space, including an enormous mixer on display. The staff was very slow and also had to be asked multiple times for things (like to go box, napkins, hot sauces). The drink machines were also out of order, so I was left pretty thirsty. Still, if you want top notch Mexican food for a GREAT value, this is the place for you.

    Birria Tacos

I got the Birria tacos- I'm guessing they're a special menu item on Tuesdays. It came with the soup and was delicious to dip the tacos in and eat! The meat was tender and juicy. I got onions and cilantro added on. The two tacos came with one lime and hot sauce. The tables had other hot sauces available, such as the green sauce. Overall, it was yummy!

Let's start with the high point: the thin tortilla chips and queso were excellent. Light, crispy, and dangerously easy to keep eating long after you should've stopped. Honestly, if the meal had ended there, we might be talking 5 stars and a very different review. But then came my main--a chimichanga-style appetizer that showed up absolutely smothered in a mysterious brown sauce. Not drizzled. Not thoughtfully applied. Drowned. The kind of sauce that makes you wonder if it lost a bet. I gave it a fair shot, but it just wasn't for me. In the spirit of teamwork, I sampled around the table. A colleague's shrimp taco? Better, but not exactly memorable. A bite of steak quesadilla? Let's just say it didn't inspire any follow-up bites. To their credit, the service was good--attentive, friendly, and on top of things. My Diet Coke arrived exactly as advertised, which in some places is apparently a high bar, so points there. Prices were also reasonable, which softened the blow a bit. Still, in an area packed with solid Mexican options, this felt like a "close, but no cigar" situation. I came in hoping for a new favorite and left thinking the queso might be the only thing worth a return trip--and even that feels like a stretch. Three stars: one for the chips, one for the queso, and one for the effort.

I rate restaurants within their category and concept. I am not comparing a neighborhood Mexican…read morerestaurant to a Michelin star fine dining experience. If a place delivers quality food, represents its cuisine well, and exceeds expectations for its setting, that earns a high rating from me. We recently visited Casa De Avila in Leesburg, and I have to start with the horchata because it was truly the star of the meal. I am of Mexican heritage, my mom is Mexican, and I grew up drinking homemade horchata. This one tasted just like it should. It was creamy, clearly made with milk and condensed milk, with that soft sweetness and a gentle hint of cinnamon. It honestly tasted homemade, and that alone made me smile. Now, it is hard for me personally to give most Mexican restaurants 5 stars, and that has more to do with my background than the restaurant itself. I was born and raised in Los Angeles and grew up eating incredible home cooking from my mom, who is an amazing cook. That naturally shapes my expectations. In the DMV area, it has been tough to find truly authentic Mexican flavors. With the exception of La Jarochita, and Mancha Cocina Mexicana, which is more elevated but very well done, good Mexican food can be hard to come by here. All that said, Casa De Avila serves very good food and is probably the best I have found in this category locally. The sopes were made fresh, which makes a huge difference in both flavor and texture. The tacos were solid overall. The asada was very good, well seasoned and flavorful. The al pastor was good, but it did not quite have that deep, traditional flavor you get from proper trompo style preparation. The esquites were also tasty, and the kids loved that they added hot Cheetos. That is a trend we saw in Los Angeles years ago, so it felt fun and nostalgic to see it here. If I could offer one suggestion, it would be about the salsa. The salsa served tasted more like a bottled style Mexican salsa. I would love to see a true house made salsa roja or salsa verde, the kind where you char the tomatoes, tomatillos, chiles, and onions before blending. That deep roasted flavor is such a big part of authentic Mexican cooking and would elevate the whole experience even more. The service was amazing from start to finish. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, and the staff really helped make the experience even better. Overall, Casa De Avila is doing a lot right. The food is flavorful, the horchata is exceptional, and it stands out in an area where good Mexican food is not easy to find. While my personal background makes me a tough critic, this is still a place I would happily return to. A solid 4 stars.
