Yes! Love Mex & Co.... I have been very "judgy" when it comes to Mexican or what's really considered "tex mex" since moving to Sydney. I can't however judge the food bad here. It's legit! The Baja fish and deep fried prawns are $7 each. Served on a handmade tortilla, a bed of crunchy coleslaw, some hot sauce, chipotle mayo and topped with real pico de gallo. Creamy, crunchy, spicy with some tang from lime juice. Really delicious stuff. You can get $5 tacos during happy hour between 3-6. Great views of the water and has an open storefront! Step off the sand and step into salsa!!!!!!

    Menu $19 tostada!

Mexican food is a tough gig in the land down under. However, I must tip my sombrero to Mex & Co for stepping up to the challenge. I have to say after trying a couple other places, Mex & Co wins hands down. Prime location facing the ocean, Mex & Co offers the closest thing to what I would truly consider good Mexican. The prices we gauging...lunch for 2 w 1 cocktail each ...about $60 -$9 for a handful of chips and guacamole, but at least it was good gaucamole -$6/tacos, (2 shrimp/ 2 fish) and street style/size tacos at that, but again the quality was good and my tortilla didn't fall apart. (http://www.yelp.com/biz/guzman-y-gomez-mexican-taqueria-crows-nest#hrid:M7dqoYyioggzr7GeEbgMNg) I do wish that somehow fish tacos could get away from being a piece of battered and fried fish thrown in a tortilla. If the fish is fresh, there is no need to fry it! -$9 Soppapillas: cinnamon and sugar fried tortilla chips drizzled with honey- a delicious dessert Overall, a good experience that left my pocket book a bit empty but I think so far is the leader in quality Mexican food with a nice dining experience.

    Intimate & friendly!

Chicken burrito was pretty good. Tecate with salt added was great but the second one didn't have it. Overall was pretty good beach food.

Love Taco's? Go elsewhere!…read more This so called 'restaurant' has been open for less than a week, and based on our groups experience, they may not be open for much longer! Here's a run down of our dismal night! We arrived and found a table; it took about 20 minutes before our entree (drinks, chips and dips) order was taken, and it took 30 minutes before these arrived! Worried our main meals would suffer the same fate (read: delay), we ordered immediately... However, we had to follow up on the order after about 30 minutes and received no response from the waitress! After a further 15 minutes, the first of the orders arrived (only 1 of the party); another 2 of our party got their order 10 minutes later! So breaking it down - We gave up and walked out after an hour and a half, as only half our of mains had arrived; where in most cases the taco's were cold and the 'soft' tortillas were stale around the edges, like they had been ready for a while! After voicing our disappointment with the Manager; we advised we were happy to pay for our drinks and entrees (read: what we felt was reasonable). We received a blunt response, an air of arrogance and absolutely no form of an apology, before receiving a demand that we pay for EVERYTHING that was delivered to the table and even those plates that were on the pass. Working in retail and retail management for over 10 years, I'm aware there are certain ways of dealing with customers; however this was the WORST customer service experience I have EVER had! I would also have to say this is the WORST food experience EVER (excluding receiving food poisoning); usually you might have bad food, bad customer service or bad ambience; but in this case we got a full house.. If you're looking for a bite to eat in Manly, choose another place from the extensive list of options. You can get better food and service for your money elsewhere.

DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT. Last night, our waitress screwed up our drink order. When we…read morecorrected her politely, she brought us more drinks and everything was fine. Then when we went to go pay, we were charged for all of the drinks, even the ones we did not drink because they were not the right order. The guy at the register said we were a group just getting drunk. There were four of us (two couples) and we had 3 drinks in 3 hours. I do not feel that is unreasonable for a Friday summer night. They refused to take the drinks off the meal because they said we ordered in correctly. I guess they've never heard of "the customer is always right." Even though the guy running the till said we were a group, we were not allowed to order the group menu because we needed to have 6 people. This was not stated anywhere on the menu. The waitress was rude when we tried to order the group menu and gave us attitude as she explained it to us like we were children. The man we had to deal with made it clear he wasn't the manager and that we could write about our experience however we wanted to in a review. I can now see that this isn't the first bad review they've gotten! Ground Zero Cafe should distance themselves from this establishment or they're going to get tarnished with the same brush. The service was crap (obviously), the food was overpriced and the tacos were okay at best. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that we had a bad experience. My husband went here last summer and witnessed the manager telling another customer that she could "f&*% off" because she complained about getting her food after her fellow diners had finished their meals. Go to Chica Bonita or Manly Mexican if you want to have a good night. Avoid We Love Tacos & Tequila at all cost.

If you find that strange, no worries - you can still get all the more standard options. I liked the steak fajitas. It's a touch pricey, but not outrageous. The burritos use to be better however now they seem a bit stodgy and have too much rice. Expensive too, without any sides. The fajitas are great and come out steaming hot. There are a few unusual items on the menu as well e.g. crocodile burrito. They also do nice cocktails. I have been here at least 6 times. I think the place was better when it first opened but the wait staff are pleasant. There was one occasion where there was a large bug in our water jug which concerned me in terms of cleanliness. The waiter was apathetic about it when we complained, rather than showing some interest. For lunch time I'd visit but for dinner you are better off at Manly Mexican on Belgrave St. GREAT food with many sides and a nice selection of wine and cocktails. Unfortunately Manly Mexican isn't open for lunch. Tips: 1. Fajitas are better value than the burritos 2. Check water jug for bugs ;) 3. You can easily rack up a large bill if you aren't careful 4. It doesn't look like it but they do takeaway. I wouldn't recommend though because it is the same price as if you eat in the restaurant.

The staff are friendly and never make you feel rushed. My favourite dish to order is a burrito and it comes with sides of rice, black beans and pink cabbage. For drinks I prefer one of their margaritas (with lots of salt and lime) or the sav blanc off the menu. I've never gotten to dessert because I have been so satisfied with the main. The restaurant is relatively small (only 40 pax) and casually decorated. It can get a little loud because of the small space and is usually full. You NEED to book or you will likely miss out...there are a lot of walk ins...or 'attempted' walk ins. Only downsides other than the size is that you must walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom and they don't have a website. I pretty much think all restaurants should have a site these days but I will overlook any cons about this place because: - the food is great and fairly priced - the staff are nice and genuine - the place has a very Manly feeling to it...nice and casual Tips: - Book book book book BOOK! - Try a margarita - Save room in your stomach before you come or you will be struggling to finish - Don't go to Mexico via Manly (on Manly beachfront) over this place. It may look prettier but it's not even in the same league as this place.

Lackluster service and shit food. Thank god there was hot sauce on the table. So so so sad. What a waste. The chips were cardboard cut - straight out of a factory. Flavorless. Margarita was premade sugar water. I hate leaving reviews like this but it's hard to find goodness when the staff of 3 - wander around like we're the inconvenience and their service is - not service. If we walked out of here and didn't pay, they'd not even notice - although there are only 4 tables of people (including me and my guest) Aside from the vibrant decor - save yourself some money and head to Aldi downstairs - make your own nachos and margaritas. Upon leaving the person who appeared to be the manager asked us what was wrong, upon explaining how disappointed we were he didn't care. Processed the payment and we left - to never return. This place is absolute trash. If the Staff there are the owners then hey - do what you want but if You're the owner and weren't there on April 5 2019 - your business isn't great and it's being run by incompetent staff.

The margaritas were okay, I ordered the froze strawberry and it was edible, let's leave it at that. Now onto the chips and salsa. NO flavor. The chips were so overcooked and thick that the crumbs went everywhere. The salsa was basically ketchup and the queso.... tasted like a hint of cheese and mustard with 2/3 water. Now onto the main entree. The bean and rice burrito. Corn??? On a burrito? Wack. Sweet potato fries?! C'mon I know this is a Tex-Mex restaurant but even then those restaurants aren't as Americanized as this. The tortilla tasted slightly worse than a frozen organic burrito from Safeway with CORN? and some random queso that probably was there to make up for the absolute lack of flavor. Cardboard tastes better and I haven't even had it. And for the finale. There's no hot sauce in this restaurant, what logic is that for a MEXICAN restaurant? Not tapatio, cholula, or some basic Tabasco??? Wild. I'd recommend this place for an experience, but it's too crap for a cultural experience. I mean what do you expect for a Mexican restaurant 7,000 miles from Mexico?
