Awesome tacos and got schooled by Dan (manager) with amazing mezcal + worm salt orange. Don't miss the jalapeño poppers!

Unfortunately, the Mexican food doesn't deliver the same excellence. Our burrito and chicken enchiladas lacked seasoning. Our guacamole needed more acid and was missing jalapeños. Our tortilla chips were out of a bag, which is surprisingly when it's so easy to make fresh tortilla chips if you have a deep fryer (which they most certainly used for their fish and chips menu). All of our food would have been more suited for a cruise ship than Sydney's discerning foodies. On a good note, service was excellent, friendly, and attentive...for this and the location, I give them three stars.

Awesome guacamole…read more They have kangaroo fajitas and crocodile burritos. Not very authentic, I know... but at the same time I appreciate the unique twist. If you find that strange, no worries - you can still get all the more standard options. I liked the steak fajitas. It's a touch pricey, but not outrageous. I'd place it in my Top 3 Mexican Restaurants in Sydney... which is a very prestigious and sought-after (imaginary) honor.

The burritos use to be better however now they seem a bit stodgy and have too much rice. Expensive too, without any sides. The fajitas are great and come out steaming hot. There are a few unusual items on the menu as well e.g. crocodile burrito. They also do nice cocktails. I have been here at least 6 times. I think the place was better when it first opened but the wait staff are pleasant. There was one occasion where there was a large bug in our water jug which concerned me in terms of cleanliness. The waiter was apathetic about it when we complained, rather than showing some interest. For lunch time I'd visit but for dinner you are better off at Manly Mexican on Belgrave St. GREAT food with many sides and a nice selection of wine and cocktails. Unfortunately Manly Mexican isn't open for lunch. Tips: 1. Fajitas are better value than the burritos 2. Check water jug for bugs ;) 3. You can easily rack up a large bill if you aren't careful 4. It doesn't look like it but they do takeaway. I wouldn't recommend though because it is the same price as if you eat in the restaurant.

Fajitas were excellent, as well the Burritos. Too much corn was the response from the Taco selector. Fair enough, I don't really like corn either. Complimentary Salsa and chips were great. Service was very good, it was a busy night too.

The staff are friendly and never make you feel rushed. My favourite dish to order is a burrito and it comes with sides of rice, black beans and pink cabbage. For drinks I prefer one of their margaritas (with lots of salt and lime) or the sav blanc off the menu. I've never gotten to dessert because I have been so satisfied with the main. The restaurant is relatively small (only 40 pax) and casually decorated. It can get a little loud because of the small space and is usually full. You NEED to book or you will likely miss out...there are a lot of walk ins...or 'attempted' walk ins. Only downsides other than the size is that you must walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom and they don't have a website. I pretty much think all restaurants should have a site these days but I will overlook any cons about this place because: - the food is great and fairly priced - the staff are nice and genuine - the place has a very Manly feeling to it...nice and casual Tips: - Book book book book BOOK! - Try a margarita - Save room in your stomach before you come or you will be struggling to finish - Don't go to Mexico via Manly (on Manly beachfront) over this place. It may look prettier but it's not even in the same league as this place.

How can you screw up nachos? El Camino that's how…read more No really. Came here looking for nachos and a margarita and it was a sever disappointment. Staff didn't get to our tables for 5 mins. Lackluster service and shit food. Thank god there was hot sauce on the table. So so so sad. What a waste. The chips were cardboard cut - straight out of a factory. Flavorless. Margarita was premade sugar water. I hate leaving reviews like this but it's hard to find goodness when the staff of 3 - wander around like we're the inconvenience and their service is - not service. If we walked out of here and didn't pay, they'd not even notice - although there are only 4 tables of people (including me and my guest) Aside from the vibrant decor - save yourself some money and head to Aldi downstairs - make your own nachos and margaritas. Upon leaving the person who appeared to be the manager asked us what was wrong, upon explaining how disappointed we were he didn't care. Processed the payment and we left - to never return. This place is absolute trash. If the Staff there are the owners then hey - do what you want but if You're the owner and weren't there on April 5 2019 - your business isn't great and it's being run by incompetent staff.

The margaritas were okay, I ordered the froze strawberry and it was edible, let's leave it at that. Now onto the chips and salsa. NO flavor. The chips were so overcooked and thick that the crumbs went everywhere. The salsa was basically ketchup and the queso.... tasted like a hint of cheese and mustard with 2/3 water. Now onto the main entree. The bean and rice burrito. Corn??? On a burrito? Wack. Sweet potato fries?! C'mon I know this is a Tex-Mex restaurant but even then those restaurants aren't as Americanized as this. The tortilla tasted slightly worse than a frozen organic burrito from Safeway with CORN? and some random queso that probably was there to make up for the absolute lack of flavor. Cardboard tastes better and I haven't even had it. And for the finale. There's no hot sauce in this restaurant, what logic is that for a MEXICAN restaurant? Not tapatio, cholula, or some basic Tabasco??? Wild. I'd recommend this place for an experience, but it's too crap for a cultural experience. I mean what do you expect for a Mexican restaurant 7,000 miles from Mexico?

They did seat us under a staircase and it was annoying hearing the heavy footsteps stomping up and down throughout dinner service. The food was very good to stellar! As others have mentioned, the Tacos are King here. Tartare Tacos are amazing, and we loved the Salmon Civiche and the carnitas tacos, as well. Flathead Civiche was delicious, Brussels Sprouts were super tasty, and we also enjoyed the twice cooked Pork Belly. Not so good was the Pato Ahumado. The mole was really tasty but not enough, and the breast was really tough and fatty, plus no proper cutlery provided. Really disappointing, as we couldn't eat or enjoy it and it was like we just threw $72 away. While I did appreciate their coursing, we did wait for long periods between. Cocktails were good, as was a glass of wine, but pours are very light. Recommended, for sure. Avoid the duck.
