Was going to try the cheeseburger until the guy at the counter told me about an off-menu burger called B.W.A. (an homage to NWA. Straight outta Roesebery, yo!). It's a double stack jacked up with cheese and bacon and house made hot sauce and it's f--king delicious, like a light from heaven shines down on you when you're eating it and the devil pops up to give you a hot sauce high five all at the same time. These dudes love music - they're DJs and man the decks on Saturday nights - but they also love their mums, so much that they named their fresh juices after them. I mean. Can you just. Which is to say, that is all right in my book. Oh, and try the tater tots. They come in a tin pail and are pretty great. F me. This place opened up less than 10 minute walk from my house and it contains two things that I love. Burgers and Hip Hop. I don't know how I didn't know about this place earlier since it opened about a month ago...but I've been twice in less than a week now, and probably coming up on three times soon. They have hip hop tunes playing constantly, and sometimes they'll have someone on the 1's and 2's. They offer several types of burgers from their Belfield Burger, their Cheeseburger, their Chicken (fried) burger, their Pork burger, a Veggie burger, and two brekkie burgers. Each of these is $8-12. Sides come at $5 a pop and can be chips, wedges, fried mushrooms, or tater tots. If you want wings they're $10 a pop. They also serve beer and wine if you're keen. The burgers can be customised as well, so if you want to add another patty, add some bacon, add more cheese, add onion rings or whatever else you desire they can probably do that. I've had their cheeseburger (double,) chicken burger, and their current special the BWA, which is a tribute to Straight Outta Compton and kind of huge and ridiculous. The chicken burger was only OK for me, I love their buns and the chicken was cooked fine, it was just a little bland and needed just a little more flavour. The cheeseburger was AWESOME...just burger porn to the fullest. Medium rare patty, melted gooey cheese, what's not to like? How did the Belfield guys come up with the idea of mixing Vegemite with the mayo that they put on their burgers (and serve with their chips)? I have no idea, but it's one of the most unique touches I've come across when it comes to burgers, making Belfield stand out amongst the ubiquitous burger offerings across Sydney. Unfortunately, despite my childhood fond spot for good ol' vegemite, I discovered I'm not that partial to the taste as an adult. At first it was an interesting addition to the cheeseburger, but I must admit it's something I would prefer to skip in future. Otherwise, it was a great burger, and great value too at a measly $8. It is not close to many other cafes or shops, so you have to make a special trip to Belfied on Botany to try out these burgers - but it is worth it! As you walk into Belfield on Botany you will hear the sweet rhythm of R&B and hip hop music and it is a "hip" place but more of the Notorious BIG kind of way, not your Newtown hipsters way. The cafe is decorated with cool "graffiti art" and it is quite stylish. You order directly at the counter so it is a more casual service, but the food is brought to your table. I came here with my fiance and sister and we ordered: - Belfield Burger: Beef Patty, Egg, Cheese, Vegemite Mayo - $8 - Chicken Burger: Fried Chicken, Avocado, Streaky Bacon, Cheese and Homemade Mayo - $12 - Pork Burger: Peanut Butter Pork Patty, Kimchi, Green Apple, Homemade Mayo. - Sweet Potato Fries - $5 (I think) - Fried Mushrooms - $5 (I think) The burgers look small from the picture of what I had seen on their Facebook page, but they were surprisingly filling, My sister and I had half the Belfield Burger and Pork Burger and both were SUPER delicious. The Belfield Burger had a beautiful brioche bun which was just so soft and tasty, juicy beef patty and delicious vegemite mayo. The vegemite mayo isn't that pronounced and just brings a bit of salt to the meat. But the winner was.. the Pork Burger! OMG - Don't be fooled by the "peanut butter pork patty", I know it sounds weird, and I would have never chosen this off the menu (my sister chose this), but it was DIVINE! The Pork had a delicious BBQ taste with a slight sweetness to it, but it was just so juicy and moist. It melted in your mouth and was very moreish. The food we ordered was plenty and the burgers filled us up. I loved the deep fried mushrooms, they are just so darn tasty! YUM! Had the chicken burger with tater tots. Tater tots were the definite winner!!!! Hmmmm so crunchy yet fluffy they were perfect. The burger was good, but I feel the ingredients didn't all mesh really well. The chicken wasn't overalls crunchy and had a charcoal taste to it but I didn't mind. The rocket on the burger I think threw me as and I ended up removing it from the burger. All in all was a good burger, wasn't the best I've ever eaten but still good :) read more

Said burger has the perfect balance of flavours - salty smokey bacon + creamy cheeses (two actually!) + grassy smokey beef perfectly cooked to medium + sour vinegar pickles + creamy peppery mustard Mayo .... the bomb! That's all I want to say, except that the rocket on the chicken burger is out of place (in fact such peppery grass should be banned from the planet). My husband had the Belfield Burger and I went for the Mushroom Burger. I have to be honest and say the Mushroom Burger was one of the best vegetarian burgers I've ever had. It consisted of Portobello mushroom on a soft burger bun topped with fresh rocket, a hash brown and home made aioli! I'll definitely be heading back to Belfield's for another! But I'm going to have to make multiple trips, as it all looks delicious on the menu the guys at Belfield have whipped up. If you would like a side with your burger check out the crinkle cut hot chips, sweet potato hot chips, deep friend mushrooms or chicken wings. Yum. The restaurant is licensed and often have a DJ playing live. How cool is that?! I couldn't write a review and miss mentioning the Vegemite mayonnaise. It's on the Belfield Burger but if you truly need some more Vegemite mayo in your life, you can purchase a little tub of it for $1. It's salty yet sweet but still tastes like Vegemite. Super Duper glad that i did :)!! Went with a friend and we both got the Belfield Burger; tgen got a side of Sweet potato chips, deep fried mushrooms and the original chicken wings :)!! The raste of burger was unreal, patty was soft and juicy, had plenty of greens, ample cheese and a weird sauce.. was thinking mustard.. but i found out later it was Vegemite & Mayo.. strange mix but from a not big fan of Vegemite; i loved the taste :)!! Need to get me a cup of it to dip my chips in it next time lol!! Deep fried Mushrooms, sweet potato chips, normal crinkle cut chips were bomb :)!! Tasted very good :)!! Wings were noce aswell byt next time will try the sweet or the spicy :). This Uber cool burg joint opened about 4 months ago. Decked out real swell with great vibes and a dj setup on the side. What I liked was their simple menu. 2 beef burgers, 1 chooks burg, 1 oink burg, 1 fish burg, 1 veg and 2 breaky burgs. A simple selection of sides and drinks... That's it, no more needed. In what could be one of the boldest moves I've seen from any burger on a menu for a while is serving their number 1 house burger with Vegemite mayo - wtf! It just worked so well. The only other time of heard of such insanity was that Burger Theory in Adelaide add a hint of Vegemite on their house sauce but it is undetectable - This vegemite mayo was the real deal and was way cool. I decide to review the cheeseburger but just let me say the Belfield Burger with the vegemite mayo rocked and a huge kudos for being so bold and brave. I've included some pics of this burg. So back to reviewing the cheesy. Beef patty, 2 types of cheeses (american and swiss), pickles, ketchup, onion and mustard mayo. Bun was super soft and fresh. Didn't compress as much as I like but I still really liked it. It wasn't brioche, may have been a milk Bun but either way it was tops. Pattie was excellent. Cooked medium just how I like it. Flavour was top shelf. Juice dripping out. I did see a little green herb here and there but I couldn't taste it which was good. Loved the seasoning, heavy on the pepper... Great! Pickles were chunky and gave good crunch. Mustard mayo made for a much better take rather than just mustard. The overall taste was kind of creamy - overall taste was sensational. Well we arrived at Belfield and were told its half an hour wait. Which made us think great it must be good their busy. So we decided to order, when we were told they had run out of onion rings. An main ingredient of one of their four burgers. So we waited and it was about half an hour but to be honest they weren't that busy. When we got home 5 minutes away all the food was cold except the mushrooms and chicken burger. The chicken burger was the best chicken burger my wife ever had, nice and spicy, very good. The mushrooms were great too. But the chips and the double beef and the cheese burgers were stone cold. If your going there eat in. The sweet potato fries were good and the aioli was good but for $1 they should consider giving you a bigger serve as there wasn't much in the little container. I attended Belfield on Botany as part of a Yelp event and had a lot of fun. The venue itself is easy to get to both by public transport or by car and there is plenty of parking around it. The prices of all the burgers are reasonable (between $8 and $10). They offer about 6 or so burgers Their sides are extensive and also quite cheap ($5-$10). I had the Belfield burger which is basically a beef burger but with vegemite in the mayo. To be honest the vegemite didn't sit too well with me. It tended to overpower the burger. Others had the chicken burger and it looked great. Their signature pork burger that is part of the Sydney Burger Passport also looked amazing! The hip hop music is fun and doesn't mean you cant have a descent conversation inside. read more

I'm not a fan of vegemite, but somehow it tastes pretty good on a burger. I had the Belford burger which was a beef burger with cheese and vegemite mayo. It was delicious and a decent size. Also at $8, you just can't go wrong there. I also had their sweet potato fries along with their aioli sauce. The sides were $5 and the sauces were $1. They too were pretty good. When we were there, there was also a DJ mixing cool tunes for us to listen to while devouring our meals! Definitely worth a visit! read more

Have enjoyed the burgers here a few times now. Last night's meal wasn't up to their usual standards. Sweat potato fries was just slightly burnt and so was the bacon on the belfield burger. This might have been the first time I had the belfield burger, the Vegemite mayo was over powering, I was disappointed that I didn't enjoy the meal. Next time I will stock to the cheese burger. We ordered fish burger $10, Belfield burger $8 and tattertots. Instead of lettuce, they use Rockets in the burger, giving an interesting twist. We really like the fish burger, which is made from real grilled fish. The belfield burger is a bit too salty for my likings, probably due to the vegemite mayo. The tattertots are nice and crispy, but again too salty for my likings. Next time I will specifically request for no added salt on them. In summary, 5 star for the fish burger and if things weren't too salty i'd give them. Four star over all. I will be back and try the pork burger next time. read more

Went here during a Yelp event, where I got to buy a $5 Belfield burger, originally $8. This is a little bit out of the way for me, but it proved to be a quick bus ride from the CBD. In addition to the burger, we also got chicken wings ($10), deep fried mushrooms ($5), crinkle cut chips ($5) and I got to take a bite of the chicken burger ($12). The Belfield burger was AMAZING. Full five out of five stars. I was originally hesitant because it has Vegemite mayo... I didn't grow up in Australia, I can't eat the thing. :| But it was REALLY good. It gave the burger a nice, unusual flavor. To be honest, I only liked it on the burger -- someone at the table ordered a tub of it for the fries, it wasn't as good on the fries for me, and I wouldn't order it separately since I'm not a Vegemite fan anyways. It's amazing on the burger, though. The chicken burger was also pretty tasty -- would likely get that next time so I can enjoy a full burger. :P The chicken wings, deep fried mushrooms, and crinkle cut chips were good as well. The chicken wings were slightly sweet, and as someone who prefers buffalo wings these weren't exactly my type, although everyone else raved about them. The breaded mushrooms were tasty, but (sorry I have to say this) I found something like hair sticking out of a few of them?? :( Booo. But they were still tasty. And the sides were all very generous -- we didn't expect them to be that huge, which is why we ordered as much as we did! Personally, I'd come here for the burgers. Great little burger joint in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney put together by local DJs. Hiphop vibes and tunes spinning throughout your dine in. The Belfield Burger is a tiny little number that has rocket, cheese, beef patty and wait for it... vegemite mayo! Goes down a treat. You can upgrade all of the burgers to double toppings. But beware the burgers are limited each day, so get in while you can. I was lucky to get in second last and wanted to order two... but I didn't want the person behind me to miss out. We haven't been here many times but the 3 times we have, unfortunately the food has disappointed us. The burger meat and the meat in general don't have much flavour and now they're using paper boxes and plastic cutlery and I'm certainly disappointed as it's isn't very eco friendly, as they're constantly chucking plastic and the paper away. We have become very disappointed and definitely won't come back.
