A small walkway through the cafe's busy kitchen takes you out to a quaint, rustic style courtyard to sit, relax and enjoy a coffee & brunch with friends to escape the busyness of the world outside. Ristretto & Co. is a local favourite, renowned for its seamless Campos coffee and menu offering a wide all day breakfast menu. We chose a couple of favourites and were recommended to try the waffles - every instagrammers dream! We enjoyed corn and zucchini fritters with aioli, avocado salsa and a poached egg, which had a lovely crunch, yet were still light and fluffy on the inside. The serving was very generous so despite being full, was hard to resist finishing. We also had the smashed avo (with a side of bacon) just to lighten things up which was nice and fresh with the hint of lemon. To satisfy our sweet tooth, we tried some waffles served with vanilla gelato, shredded coconut, salted caramel sauce, fresh berries, maple syrup & Persian pashmak! The presentation of this dish was beautiful with the popping colours of the berries atop the glistening maple syrup and the delicate pashmak on the top. It was hard to pull this one apart! Although this was very sweet, the flavours and textures worked well together and left us very satisfied. We thoroughly recommend visiting Ristretto for an amazing breakfast/brunch. read more

The earliest opened of all cafes in Liverpool (5:30am). Quality Campos coffee. I haven't tried the food but the menu was short and possibly all food was fresh. There is an inside area for eating. This place is amazing. After reading so many great reviews about it, I decided I would go for the drive and give it a go. After all I'm on the hunt for great coffee near me. Hallelujah!!! this cute little hipster cafe did not disappoint! I was lucky that they weren't busy when I got there which meant I didnt have to get take away and I could wheel my pram in their little dining area and sit down. Came here for lunch, had an angus beef burger which was pretty good considering I'm not really a burger fan. The lunch menu is quite limited compared to the breakfast menu. Staff were ok, could be friendlier but at least the food cooked fast. Friends had the pasta bake which she rated 6/10 (said it was too salty) and the chicken con.. which she gave a 7. A little hard spotting this place from the street but after walking in, the trendy hipster feeling kicked into gear. The atmosphere, food and coffee created a pleasant experience. The friendly staff start you off by walking you through the open kitchen. The seating area is outdoor and small but didn't feel cramped. After taking our seats, we were glad the gas heater was lit as it was cold. Looking through the menu, we noticed that the breakfast period had just finished. To our delight, the waitress happily told us that it was all day breakfast today. We ordered our coffees and everyone on the table received theirs fairly quickly except me. Most on my table ordered the big breakfast. Presented on a wooden board, mine came out with two beautifully poached eggs, pancetta, spinach, mushrooms and a truss of tomatoes. The only downside was the pancetta bacon had shrunk to finger size and was simply disappointing. Stacking my bread with the different ingredients, I was utterly satisfied when cutting into both my eggs that the yolks oozed out. Unfortunately, the rest of my table didn't have the same effect as they were slightly more cooked. My meal was great. Liverpool does not come to mind as an artisan centre but this restaurant definitely makes me want to reevaluate. read more

Found this little gem and it was a good vibe with decent food and coffee. I ordered the big plate and it was that BIG! Tricky to eat in a small plate but was good food. I think adding salmon for $4 is a bit much and in hindsight I think I didn't need to add this.... it was bigger than I thought. This is a very cute, trendy, hipster like cafe in Liverpool. Outside on the street serves tasty campos coffee, and inside is a little courtyard with tables and chairs to sit for lunch, or even bring a laptop to do some work in. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. This cafe serves breakfast and lunch. The menu is simple but executed well. I ordered the chicken panini which was full of flavour, toasted to perfection and the bread was fresh and delishious. Prices are reasonable too for what you get. If you have a spare few hours to kill then this place is good! Food was delicious however took over 45 minutes for a little avocado toast and iced latter to reach me. Yes it was busy but people were coming and going while we still waited. Service is also sub par and quite snobby. Upon checking the bill we wanted to ensure the correct amount of drinks were added since one drink never came out with the others and we had to request another. The lady at the till was apologetic, however the waitress who served us rolled her eyes when we brought this up. Would 100% go back for food... never again for their service. read more

Pretty cool place. Awesome music, alright coffee, yummy food (dukkah crusted poached eggs!!). I came here a couple times while visiting family in the area. However, on the last day of my trip, I had walked there and arrived 10 mins before they opened and waited (cold morning, no less), then when they opened I was told by the owner they were fully booked (father's day) but then he made it seem like he was doing me a special favor to make me some toast to go. However, while I was waiting for the toast, the owner let in 2 separate groups of 4 and 5 people who did not have reservations! Right in front of me, too. Why could I not be let in? Especially after waiting before anyone else was even there (except another couple who were also turned away). I did not understand and felt really upset, not to mention very hungry. Still a cool place but maybe a bit pretentious I guess. read more

I didn't mind this place to begin with. But after all the quality dropped. The smiles disappeared off people's faces and the lack of attention to detail. I go every morning until recently before work and even some of my workers were dropping past to get their morning fix noticed that the quality was diminishing. The kitchen is next to the cash register on the side as soon as you walk in to the shop literally the shop front is 3 metres wide which has the kitchen in it. Food is not covered, people smoke within metres of the building. The ambiance used to be great with all the regular faces with a nice catch-up but even they have dropped off I guess i'm not the only one to notice this. Also just a fact, the owner rents another place called coffee on the park or something like that for $1 a week. That's actual fact not fiction, inside information. So I guess he has very little overheads and still even with that discount not even the owner can give a smile. Its a poor serviced café. Very disappointing that the standard has dropped. I won't be coming here again as sad at it used to be my favourite spot to come. There are many more great cafes around the corner in the mall. Places like echo cafe or bona fides or even black rose caffe are really nice. read more

It was disappointing today to order soup, being told to wait as it has to be heated by a chef, 15 minutes later cold soup arrives without the sourdough and with a fork... Well, more waiting for sourdough and a spoon. The soup will have to be heated up at work. This is all after I clearly stated that I am in a rush. Now, if you can not deliver the promise, than do not promise. There is nothing more frustrating than being in a misleading end of the deal. Not happy guys. Great coffee, and great food. If you're looking for a place to have some breakfast and lunch, Ristretto and Co is almost the go-to if you're in the area. The only problem i have with this place is the amount of attitude from staff. The female staff are not so vicious as compared to their male counterparts. Being a barista and the person who works at the very front of the store, you've got to realise that you are essentially representing the store as it's frontline. That means, you shouldn't be giving customers a hard time when they want to promote your store through a nice photo to post on social media. Your coffee is great, but work on your shit hospitality skills. Still a fan though. 3 star for great food and coffee, but -2 for the poor realisation that you are a part of a business and that some people do things with the best of interest in your store. read more
