We had visited Sticky Fingers in 2015, but hadn't been back only because it had fallen off our radar. We saw a couple of foodie friends pop into the café recently and it seemed like the café had certainly stepped it up and the food looked amazing. So we decided to make a return. Changed ownership has also meant a new menu, new décor and a bunch of vibrant staff at the fore. The café is located on a side street, Pelican street, just off Oxford St Sydney, occupying a large corner space. There's a few tables outside if you wish to dine, or in the sun or with your puppy. Inside, there's plenty of space, minimalist grey décor, concrete floors, hanging plants and a buzzing vibe of happy customers. As you enter the café, you also see the exposed kitchen where you can see the busy chefs at work. The main counter has a visible window to showcase their Sonoma pastries and atop on the adjacent bench is a large La Marzocco coffee machine pumping out some good coffee using Seven Miles Beans. Their cold drip, served with a cube of ice and dark chocolate buttons was excellent, and their flat white was made even better with their barista's coffee art on display at it's finest.  If you're not into coffee, don't worry, there's plenty of juices, smoothies, iced drinks, tea, milkshakes and if it's an appropriate time - perhaps a beer, wine or cocktail! The chefs are certainly outstanding, for there is not only an extensive all day breakfast menu, but a lunch menu too, with each and every dish possessing so many in house made features that we're not sure how they manage it all! But they do, and they do it well. We love that their meals incorporate in house made ingredients. The Summer breakfast had two poached eggs, perfectly cooked, sitting atop housemade beetroot relish, wilted spinach and Persian fetta, served on their house made grilled corn bread. The corn bread is some of the best we've had - lovely flavour, light and soft and certainly very filling. Their scrambled eggs were also excellent, made with house made pesto, red chilli and 2 slices of Sonoma bread. We loved the food we had. Their menu has so many interesting options for brekkie, their pulled beef Benedict is very popular, or a chorizo scramble to name a few. For the sweet tooths around, their ricotta hotcakes are the must order. There's so many great dishes, you could really return time and time again. We look forward to returning to try the lunch menu soon.

Breaky bagel and summer breakfast

We have now been here twice and everything we ate was out of this world. Friendly staff, clean, and free Wi-Fi doesn't hurt! A must visit!

Great atmosphere, service and food! One of the few places you can get a turmeric latte, which was very delicious. Coffees were good and a very extensive and reasonably priced menu. Breakfast is all day, lunch from 11.30. Must try 3 cheese toastie with sourdough, it's great! Great music playing in the background sets a good vibe. And the treat cabinet looks great if you are looking to spoil yourself.

This is probably one of my favorite breakfast spots in town. The menu changes often but everything is super good and the chef is very creative. The specials are only available on weekends

Avo Smash dressed with balsamic lime + extra poached egg. Delicious!

This unsuspecting little cafe delivers a flavoursome twist on classic menu items. I ordered the avo smash and thought I was being unadventurous until the zesty sweetness of balsamic lime kicked in. It was delicious, and the coffee was excellent. Cute fitout, options for health conscious and also affordable. I paid $24 for 2 coffees and a hearty plate of Avo Smash with an extra egg, and combined with the friendly, knowledgable service of staff, I would say this was money well spent.

You can add more to it such as heirloom cherry tomatoes, avocados, greens; garlic roasted field mushrooms, pork sausage, eggs or smoked ocean trout. I opted for scrambled eggs and it was a breakfast for champions NGL. Soooo good! Paired with the orange blossom matcha milk, I'm in heaven! I'm not really a citrusy kinda girl but that combo was divine. I needed more caffeine though for my long day ahead so I got a large mocha-- just the buzz I needed. The vibe is very aesthetic, industrial chic with high ceilings. Love the tables as well as the pitchers that look like Aesop bottles haha. I was really torn between the shokupan yuzu French toast and stracciatella, chilli and hazelnut toast but I'm glad I went with savory. Absolutely what I needed for today's adventures. Service was amazing. I was seated immediately but I came 15 mins after they opened so that's probably why. I'm so happy I added PCP to my Sydney itinerary.

Our drinks were out in 3-5 minutes and our food was out within about 5-7 minutes after. As soon as we finished we were given our checks to pay at the front. I think we were here for only 45 minutes and it was amazing! I started out with the iced strawberry matcha and my husband had their iced mocha. The iced mocha was good but the iced strawberry matcha was flawless. The strawberries were so fresh and the matcha was just perfect itself. Great combo together! My husband had the free range eggs on toast and I had the eggs Benedict. His was delicious but the eggs Benedict was amazing. The crispy kale really sold me as it was delectable in each bite. Eggs were poached to perfection and the truffle hollandaise was just delicious. Couldn't have had a better experience if we tried!

For a larger party, coming in with a reservation was convenient since they are pretty busy and change tables often. Service staff were efficient and very friendly. Ordering was easy as well. Their seasonal specials is definitely worth the look over. I had the peanut butter shake and although it didn't look it, it tasted very much like peanut butter in liquid form. I also got to try the summer breeze watermelon salad. That was refreshing. It had a mix of greens, dressing, feta and a crisp prosciutto. I've never had prosciutto served fried; it was delicious. The whole piece married well, and I wish I knew the background of how it was created. I loved every bite! Although the place was crowded, it can still be intimate. Besides indoor seating, they also have a patio and seating outside.

We browsed the menu and were immediately overwhelmed. When you're hungry and you see 100+ menu items, many I haven't seen before, it's easy to become paralyzed. We eventually ordered two dishes: - Boat Noodle: Good. This is a dish I've recently started getting addicted to, so I order it whenever I see it. Based one ones I've ordered before, I'd say it's in the middle of the pack. Good, but far from the best - Gaeng Keaw Gai with Kanom Jeen: OK. This is the first time I've had this dish. I'm always up to try something new. It was fine, but didn't find it special. Service was fine. It wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be, but on my next visit to the city I'm willing to try again. I'll research what is the best thing to order next time.

I got the Kai Gatah with pandan custard topped toast and a glass of iced red tea. The Kai Gatah was savory and delicious with the fish sausage and sunny side up egg. I added a few dashes of Maggi sauce but it was definitely not necessary as the dish alone was great on its own. The pandan custard topped toast was like my breakfast dessert, creamy and the perfect size. Washing it all down with the iced red tea hit the spot. This cafe also has a small grocery section with Thai goods. I didn't get a chance to look but I'm hoping I'll come back next time to check that out and their dinner menu.

The nearby car park gives 1 hour free parking so it's easy to pop by for brunch or lunch. It's a lovely view of the city scape and boats in the harbour and you can enjoy your breakfast up on the deck of the converted waiting hall / shipping container, or on a lounge by the water. This time we opted for the couches and made friends with a nearby diners French bulldog. It's certainly a dog friendly spot. You can also sit inside if the weather isn't suitable with beautiful styling, nautically themed with blue striped cushions, decorative ropes and anchors. We loved this place last time, so we were keen to try their new menu. The menu has a more varied amount of choices at brunch. There's sweets, salads and some regular and ever popular choices. The mozzarella with avo, perfectly place on sourdough with greens and pomegranates, heirloom tomatoes and and a soft poached egg was beautiful. The roast pumpkin salad with grains, Persian feta, heirloom salad, avocado, confit onion, Pepita dukkah and herbs is the kind of dish I'd enjoy every day. Super healthy and refreshing and the pumpkin was perfectly cooked. For a sweet finish, we really liked the poached pear on brioche, toast with salted caramel, passionfruit cream, candied pistachio and lemon zest. We imagine this will be a very popular menu item.
