    Avocado n feta

Cute, little place. I didn't get to try that many menu as I was on my own and really hungry. One tip if you go alone, bring a book cause it's a bit of a wait. Which I partly understand because there's only one cook on Saturday morning... coffee is ok (but I'm a coffee lover so I may be biased). I ordered avocado n feta with poached egg, aaaand... the egg is a overcooked (I was hungry and dreaming of a runny, warm egg in a chilly morning) plus I could not tasted the feta. If you wanna go there may be try other things than avocado feta. I can only say based on what I ordered experience.

Missed eating outside because it was a damp day, but the staff and quality of food makes up for a short menu. They also have some great gluten free snacks that could be taken on the go.

Great place for breakfast sandwiches and coffee. We stayed at the Four Point Sheraton close to this cafe and wanted to try one of the local cafes versus eating in hotel. The cafe has counter service and is popular with the local college age crowd. Affordable option to hotel breakfast about $15 aud vice hotel at $34 per person for breakfast buffet.

They have an amazing egg and bacon breakfast sandwich that easily worth 5 stars by itself. Their banana bread is awesome too.

Forget "sandwiches", this place makes sandwizes because the guy that runs this place is a wizard!…read moreHe knows his flavours, he knows his breads (which he collects at 4AM every morning), and him and his staff go above and beyond to look after the customer. We drove past this place one afternoon and the wife and I knew we had to eat here. We found street parking and made our way over. From the outside the red neon sign gave a very strong impression. Inside it was a little bit dull but that doesn't matter when you start to read the menu board. All the menu items suggest bold American flavours. Choose your filling, bread (sourdough or rye) and whether you want it fresh or toasted. I was worried about my sandwich being toast until I was told that they'd add the lettuce afterwards to prevent it from wilting. The food came out quick. My wife asked for soy milk in her coffee which they had run out of. However one of the staff went to the corner store, JUST FOR US, to buy a new carton. I was amazed by this. This truly was a selfless act and to me it defined what great customer service is. Our food came out quickly and tasted amazing. I ordered the hoagie sandwich. I know in The States a hoagie is this massive bread roll sandwich thing, but this being Australia they brought out a toasted sandwich which tasted just like a hoagie. Perfect down to the last bite. The staff are great company and extremely friendly. I want... nay, NEED to come back here to try some of the other sandwiches. A great place for a meal which isn't too heavy but will leave you thoroughly satisfied.

Either Or - I want it all! Situated on King Street in Newtown, an half hour away from where I'm…read morestaying in Leichhardt, this place is AMAZE. Probably best brekkie since I arrived. I can't help but look up places before I venture into a suburb. The idea of eating at a random cafe vs an amazing one is too expensive in both wallet and morale. I picked out Either Or via Yelp Sydney and their other competing review sites. I strolled in the little cafe around 9:30 and was seated at a corner table in the back. The best thing about Sydney cafes is there aren't usually doors so there's natural lighting and breeze from the street no matter where you sit. I had seen some of the menu prior to coming in, but I decided on an interestingly sounding Black Sesame Latte with almond milk and "The Naturalist" bowl. The latte was lightly sweet with toasted coconut on top. Holy it was good. I'm a kombucha or bust kind of person, but had to try a latte for the 'gram. 'Twas worth it. Okay, let's talk about this bowl of heaven, maybe from heaven, placed down upon me as if they knew exactly what I needed. The bowl contained smoked turmeric cauliflower, rice, coconut, salsa, cilantro, etc etc etc and my FAVE - roasted sweet potato cooked down so well and so flavorful. I am soooo about this bowl. Someone ship it out to me, please. I love how simple but extravagant the food preparation is at Either Or. The menu ingredients weren't some kind of vegan-friendly craze where you wonder how one could afford to even try to replicate a meal at home. No, this was very different, and in the best way! The customer service was lovely and one of the staff members turned out to be a fellow American-turned-Aussie. We had the loveliest chat & I had to let the staff know just how great this California girl thought their food was. Don't be fooled by lack of Yelp reviews, American tourists, it's still expanding here and I can be the first to say how amazing it is. *Recommendations include one of the four lattes they offer, any of the bowls, benny brekkie (an australia fave), and an espresso martini if you're feeling up to it. I asked a staff member and was told the drink was equivalent to two shots of espresso, so you coffee drinkers will not be shorted of your caffeine. This cafe is a MUST. Okay, that's all.

I love this place! Okay so it's not gonna be the best Reuben you've ever tasted, but it's so so so…read moreclose. Everything here is like 95% as good as you would find it back in the states. So if you're like me and have lived in Sydney for a while, this place is a godsend. They have both east coast and west coast reubens, onion rings, buffalo wings, thick shakes, actual delicious bbq sauce, just about everything you miss. And on top of it all, the staff/owner here is so nice! They served me my hot chocolate and accidentally spilt a bit onto the saucer, and they quickly apologized and replaced the saucer, before my brain even registered what happened. Love! Anyways, this is a great place for any American cafe nostalgia.

I can tell this place is inspired by Katz's deli in NYC since the Massive Reuben they serve comes…read moreclose to the same size. It's seriously hard to find a good Reuben in Sydney. Like, really hard...for some reason, there's been an uptick of Reuben sandwiches being offered in Sydney that aren't Reuben sandwiches at all. Just because you use corned beef on a sandwich, it doesn't make it a Reuben. If you use beef brisket and sauerkraut on a sandwich and call it a Reuben, you're full of crap...looking at you Copper Mill. A classic Reuben is a hot sandwich composed of corned beef, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian or Thousand Island dressing, grilled between slices of rye bread. It originated in, you guessed it, America... Anyway, Reuben Republic started off as a food stall and then morphed into this brick and mortar shop. It's good too, as the sandwich is pretty legit. You can order an east coast or west coast Reuben (get the east) and you can get pastrami or corned beef. I personally prefer pastrami so I went with that. If you're hungry get the Massive Reuben (off the not-so-secret-menu) which is double portions of meat...my only gripe with this is there should be more sauce on it, but if you just ask for it they'll provide you some on the side. Service is top notch, and they have other offerings like shakes and salads. I would definitely come back, as it's been the most legit Reuben I've had in Sydney since Ruby & Rach is no longer around.
