I've been taking Metry cab for a few years, but have decided not to call them anymore. In April, Cab No. 24 was sent to pick me up. As I walked to the cab, I saw the driver scowl. He was staring at me, not wearing a mask, and was making it clear he didn't approve of mine. During the ride, he turned his music up loud. He drove fast (almost 45 in a 35) and hit the brake a little too hard a couple of times. When I spoke to him about how to get to where I was going, I could hear the irritation in his voice. At one point while stopped in traffic, a guy riding a bike and wearing a mask passed us. The bad-tempered cab driver made a grunt-like noise, followed the bicyclist with his eyes, and shook his head in disapproval. I didn't want to tip this triggered driver much, if anything, but was concerned about retaliation. If something like a stranger wearing a mask got him so upset, what would he do if he didn't get those few dollars from me? He knew where I worked, after all. I ended up tipping him something over 15%. He thanked me, but after I got out of the cab, he hit the gas pedal and the tires on the pavement made that noise that they make. He swerved into the street, and dirt and pebbles were kicked up. Cab 24 sped off in a rage. This is the second time I got picked up by a psycho Metry Cab driver. Next time I'll call another company or maybe try a ride sharing service. -------------------------------------- Response by Metry Cab: Danny H. Well I had to get some Christmas shopping done on black friday and I didn't wanna have to deal with all of the parking issues, so I decided to use a cab. The first cab I called was from New Orleans and and I was a little reluctant to get into the cab after seeing what it looked like and what the driver looked like. I understand these cars are used almost 24hrs a day 7 days a week so they are not going to be Rolls Royces but this one was on life support. Well I got in and headed to the mall, upon arrival at the mall the driver tried to charge me an extra 3 percent for using a credit or debit card, I asked why and he said to cover the transaction charges for the card, last i checked isn't he suppose to pay for that? I declined and paid him cash, then he tried to upsell me and demanded a tip which I did not give. So I did my shopping and decided to hail a cab outside the mall by Target, after getting the cab to pull over and the driver trying to hurry me in the cab, a security or police officer approached him and asked him some questions then he left and the man explained to me that New Orleans cabs cannot pick up their since the mall isn't in New Orleans. So now what do I do I need a cab LOL, there was an old lady that saw me standing their and approached me and she said she had went through the same thing. She gave me the number to Metry Cab and politely said problem solved. So I called them and 10 min later a cab arrived which I had no hesitation to get into. No issues with the ride and we actually had a good conversation rather then someone on the cell phone or hardly speaking english. No upselling what so ever and didn't even ask for a tip but I appreciatively gave him one. I would recommend them and I will be using them in my future transportation needs with out hesitation. Only advice to others is to CALL AHEAD, after speaking with the driver he said this time of year is very busy and they are short on cabs at time, so it is best to call as far in advance as you can. As everyone knows the day before thanksgiving is crazy. We called 3 days in advance to arrange our pick up from the Airport. When we arrived at the airport there was that initial feeling of "I Hope The Cab Is There" and yes it was. The driver was very nice and friendly and we located him easily since he had a sign with out last name on it. The SUV was very nice and clean and he assisted us with our luggage. When we arrived at our in-laws house we noticed the rate was cheaper than we had calculated from the information we got from the Airport web site. There was 3 of us and he was only charging us for 2. When we questioned him he said he (himself) does not charge for children riding with parents. We found this to be very professional and nice. We paid him the amount he requested and gave him a nice tip to which he refused but we insisted and said Happy Thanksgiving! This was a type of service we use to get when we were younger back int he day and thought that all this had eroded away over the years as has everything else in our society. We appreciate this and would tells others about them. We have already set up our pick up to go back to the airport on Sunday. read more

Ok its New Years Eve, I have never used a cab before and even I know if you expect to get a cab on time without any issues you had better call way way way ahead of time or even days in advance. This is what my family did with Metry Cab to arrange our transportation for our New Years fun. Every cab company out there will have a waiting period or even not be able to service you because everyone and there grandma wants a cab on New Years Eve, so if you couldnt get a cab because you waited till 10 minutes before you needed a cab dont get upset when you have an hour or so wait. People its New Years ! Our experience with Metry Cab on this New Years Eve was perfect for us, we scheduled everything ahead of time and the cab was right on time. Driver was very friendly took good care of us. I have lived in the area all my life (54 years) and I have never had to use a cab before but have always known Metry Cab. I mean who lives in Metairie and hasnt heard of Metry Cab! I would like to say thank you to them for providing us with good transportation on this New Years Eve and Happy New Year Everyone! read more

I took the advice of others reviews, they were 100% correct: Metry Cab was on-time, courteous, very reasonably priced, and personable to boot. Around 11pm we called for a ride to the airport at 5am the next morning, after being disconnected by another company twice. Not only did we NOT have to wait on hold for an hour, but the guy who took our call actually thanked us for our business. That never happens with cab companies! So the cab arrived 5 minutes early, and he drove us to the airport. When we ran into a couple of construction zones and closed streets, he let us know which detours he was taking and why, which was much appreciated. Overall it was a swift, stress-free ride and the driver got a nice big tip. These guys are a class act. read more

After being ripped off on our inital cab ride with another taxi we decided to call this company for our return trip and realized immediatley the difference in service we got from this cab. The driver also confirmed that we were ripped off because this drivers meter was about $40.00 less than what we paid to get to our location. He said it was suppose to be a meter run not a flat rate and thats where we were taken advantage of. Well we liked the honesty on this drivers part and the entire transportation experience with him. The cab was clean and he didnt drive like a crazed maniac. We understand these guys have to deal with alot of people and not one driver or a company can please everyone but we were very satisfied with this company. read more

Took a cab down to the football game the other night and everything was great. When we saw the traffic I thought we were doomed because we were already running late. The driver said dont worry I know ways around the traffic, and yes he did. We got there in good time, definetly will use these cabs again. P.S. to the guy who lost his punch in the cab, are you sure it actually got loaded into the cab. I have forgotten things on the counter of the supermarket before. Kinda odd that the guy would want a $3.00 bottle of punch after atleast telling you that you did indeed forget something else in the cab which means he actually looked. You are lucky they even helped you with you stuff, lots of times they wont help you at all! read more

I've lived in the New Orleans area for 17 years and tried every cab company in the New Orleans and Metairie. METRY cab is by far the cleanest, friendliest cabs I have ever used. And all their cabdrivers speak English and know where they're going! Unlike the other cab companies in the area. will take you 50 miles out of your way to bring you to a place and charge you a outrageous amount! The best cabdriver I ever had was this guy named Joe in 91, I always recommend him and I always request him! He is by far the coolest and best cabdriver I have ever met and is very informative of the city! And the only cabdriver I've ever Met that if he makes a mistake he will prorate his amount! read more

Excellent service. Now that my family has moved to Metairie we use this company a good bit. Previously we used them when we visited on vacation and this is how we knew of them. The driver was great, very nice and helpful. He also provided us with a lot of local knowledge with some of the questions we had for him. Very easy to set something up and I also downloaded their taxi App. It is very similar to other Apps, easy to use and also what i like is I have the option to pay by cash or credit at the end of my trip. I was very happy with my decision on choosing this company. The drivers were friendly and very knowledgable of the area providing me with info on various areas that I questioned about. I used them about 5 times during my stay in New Orleans area and I will use them again on my next trip. My advice to others is to make an advanced order ahead of time to make sure you have a taxi when you need it. I arrive back in town for another visit. The RAIN is crazy, streets are flooding, the wait for a taxi is long due to the weather conditions and street flooding making it almost impossible for the taxi to reach you. I patiently wait and up pulls my taxi. They hadn't forgot about me, the driver apologizes and says we may have to take it a little slow due to the weather, I cannot complain because it is completely understandable due to the conditions. For the past 8 years my family and I have been provided with very friendly service and patience on the drivers part when dealing with our handicap child. I have used this Taxi Service many times-at least eight times over the past 2 months. The Drivers are courteous which is very nice when you are tired after a long trip. The taxis, no matter the driver, are nice large sizes cars and are clean. The drivers, no matter the hour, are personable and respectful. We came in for the Holidays and transportation in the area was a nightmare with all the people in town. We had a few bad experiences with other cabs and ended up calling Metry Cab. We used their services for the length of our stay and had no issues. Very friendly drivers although the call taker was a little quick on the phone but I guess that's from the volume of calls they were taken, so it was understandable. read more

Provided our sports logistics crew with quality service during the Final Four. Anyone who was in town knew that it was hard to get a cab with that much business in the city but Metry Cab was a good dependable choice for us. We used this company to bring us back to the New Orleans Airport for our return flight home. We were treated very nicely and they were very helpful, the vehicle was nice and clean and driver was very professional and friendly. I have been a resident of Metairie for only 2 years now. Being a single mother of 3 and working a full time job in the medical field is very stressful. I must say that I have depended on Metry Cab to take my children to school and myself to work and have had nothing but good experiences with them. Had to use a cab from the Ramada in Metairie. The one they called for me was aweful. So I called Metry on my own. Cab was there quick, it was clean, and the driver was friendly. The bell man at the hotel must get a cut from other cab drivers because he tried to get me to get into another taxi there. I would use them again if I needed a cab. read more
