My car was in the shop today (a Friday) and I got the call at about 4:15 that it was ready. Uber wanted $26 for the 4 mile ride. My fare with Metry was half of that and the driver, #83, Jeremy, was GREAT!! He arrived 10 minutes earlier than promised (I was VERY happy about that because I told dispatch the body shop closed at 5 and I needed them to come ASAP due to rush hour.) Jeremy was polite, an outstanding and safe driver and I was enjoying our conversation so much I wished my trip was longer. I've only had good experiences with Metry Cab and think they deserve a better rating so I hope this helps. THANKS so much to the dispatcher and to Jeremy for getting me to the shop in plenty of time before they closed. Support local businesses and this excellent Metairie "born and raised here" driver! the lady answering the phone sounds upset that you called and bothered her for a cab ride. supposed to have sent a cab...waited a hour, called to check up on it, said that the cab got there before I made it outside. kicker is....I was outside waiting when I made the original call. customer service sucks. read more

Had ordered a taxi for 11am. 15 minutes past 11 called to see how far out the taxi arrival was. The guy on the phone rudely told me because I was talking to him about this that he was not sending a taxi at all. I was depending on a taxi to get to an appt for 11:40. So unprofessional and rude. Will never call to this company again. I waited an hour and a half the other day for a Metry cab. And when I called the dispatcher to ask for a status, he yelled at me and then hung up. When the cab arrived, it reeked of smoke. I try to keep true to the old ways of business by calling for a taxi, but this experience ruined it for me. And since when do drivers complain about taking credit card as a form of payment? He was late picking ME up, and then I get an attitude for handing him my credit card. I'm glad we made it to my destination in one piece because the cab felt like it was going to fall apart anytime we stopped at a red light. Call at 11 AM on Saturday, December 4 to ask for a taxi to be at my home for 4 PM to bring me to Tulane. It is now 4:49 Pm and no taxi ever came. Will never call Mety Cab again. They do not care about customer service! read more

I called them about noon on Saturday, asking for pick up on Monday morning. When it came time for Monday's pick up, they were no show/no call. i called them twice more in the next 10-20 minutes and they said they were "working on it" and to "hang tight". I had an appointment that they were making me be late for or miss altogether. I called another cab company and they were here in twelve minutes. The driver even offered that his company offers pre-arranged pick up service. I had a similar situation with Metry Cab several months ago. I've used them in the past and the service has mostly been okay. I understand things happen, but communicate if the arrangement changes. Metry Cab had my phone number, they should've called or texted. read more

I have used Metry cab for the last 3 years mostly going to the airport. We have found it's better to call Metry cab rather then parking at the lots , which after 7 or ten days gets very expensive. So far we have 8 trips to the airport, mostly in early morning like 4 or 5 am , they have never been late, Never a bad driver, never a bad word to say about our experiences! I had a great and safe taxi ride from Uptown to MSY this morning. The taxi arrived a little early but he assured me that there was no rush. His taxi was clean and he drove safely to the destination. I was hesitant to order a taxi from most New Orleans services because of their reviews on Yelp. I also figured an early morning weekend might be unreliable. Metry Taxi was very cool about me ordering their service out of their usual coverage, there was no extra charge. I would recommend them to anyone and will use their car service again. read more

They are typically always prompt with service despite the dispatcher usually being remarkably unfriendly. My main hang-up here is that it's always an issue using a credit card in 2015. Jefferson Parish was against the proliferation of Uber, and yet I'm still being berated by a cab driver for having to manually write down my credit card information because they can't seem to mandate having a smart phone and a $15 card reader. Neither the surly dispatcher nor paying with a card is an issue with Uber. read more

Long story short, I ordered a cab, my friend got a call that his family member had died, so I had to call the company back and ask them to cancel it. My friend told me a couple minutes later that I should still call for the cab. I felt horrible for having to call again after I just cancelled, but I called back. Whoever I talked with on the phone wasn't friendly from the first sentence in the first phone call that we had, and as time went on, his patience deteriorated even farther. I didn't necessarily blame him for that, and was going to tip the cab driver lots for messing up. But basically I was hung up on every time I called, minus the first. (The first time I called was for the cab initially, the second was to cancel, the third time was to call for a cab again, and the fourth was to ask for an update for the location of the cab, after waiting thirty minutes after the third call.) After waiting thirty minutes after the third call, and being hung up on with unclear information (making me think that he was pulling my leg and cancelled the cab himself), I decided to call another cab company. This second company came within 10 minutes, with a friendly driver. He took us to our location, and about 10 minutes after we were at our location I got a phone call from Metry Cab. It was the driver who ended up going to the hotel (again, I thought there wasn't one coming after being hung up on). I explained, painfully, that my friends and I were already at our destination. In his (understandable) frustration he said with an attitude that "30 minutes isn't long for a cab." Well, he may have been right, but I called another cab company, it arrived, got the drive, and got to my location by the time Metry got to my hotel. As I've been trying to get across, I was absolutely in the wrong, and felt horrible about it. I remained calm and was going to make it up to the driver who I messed up. But, with their extreme lack of decorum, I was happy that I took my business elsewhere in the end. read more

They answered the phone at 4am immediately and the driver arrived as scheduled to take my husband to MSY airport. Score! However, we rated them with 1 star because the driver continually texted and checked his Facebook during the trip. Even after my husband stated his objection, the driver disregarded their safety. Like all NOLA cab companies, there's a good chance they just won't show up, and certainly not in a timely fashion. We waited over an hour at the hotel. Worse, the front desk called twice for updates and the dispatcher insisted he was "right around the corner" and "pulling up now", clearly just plain lies. This cab company needs to provide better cabs...if one breaks down they take too long to fix it for the good cab drivers. They don't even give their cab drivers a temporary one until the other one is fixed. I started calling this cab company off and on for years...but they need to keep up with their cars. read more

I've called to used this cab a few times. The other day I called for a cab to work and after waiting on a phone call or text, I received neither. When I called the guy told me they were at the address I told them. They claimed they called and texted me back, but I also DID NOT receive neither. I waited for 45 min for them to pick me up. On top of that I was upset. I asked if they could come back and they told me they had no cabs. So today I called them again and they told me NO CABS once again. The guy on the phone had a rude tone and was not helpful at all. I will not be using METRY CAB again. I pay $20 to get to where I need to go. So I'd rather give my money to another cab company who actually does there job!!! read more

Called the dispatcher at 8 to get a pickup from my house at 9am. I gave him my address and destination as well as pickup time. The cab driver called me at 845AM to ask me where I was. I gave him my address and he said he was about 35 min away! He ultimately showed up 15 min late but I don't blame the driver, it was obviously the dispatcher's fault. The cars do not have a credit card reader or printer as well. I have to get a receipt for my job so he hand wrote one. After I was dropped off I had to find an ATM at my destination which was aggravating. I just moved from the NY/NJ area and I guess I got spoiled with the taxis up there. Looking forward to Über and Lyft joining the market. The driver was friendly though. read more

I had to get a cab to pick me up at 4:30 on a Sunday morning, and I was very nervous that it wouldn't show up, and I would miss my plane. I need not have worried. The driver, who was the same person who had served as the dispatcher when I called the day before, was a few minutes early and made my trip to the airport a very pleasant experience. We even had a lively conversation about politics, which helped to wake me up, and I loved listening to the driver's New Orleans accent. I would not hesitate to recommend this cab company. read more

I called the night prior for a 6am pick up to the airport. At 3 minutes after 6am I received a call that the cab was within 5 minutes away. I thought that was very courteous and professional so I wasn't too upset. However, that was an underestimation on their part and the cab got to me at 6:20. The driver was apologetic so I give him credit for that but when going to the airport, time is a factor. I did make my flight on time, but luckily I had done all the pre-check in stuff and wasn't checking in luggage. If I had been, who knows, I might not have made my flight. From other reviews, it seems timeliness is a huge problem for Metry Cab Co. With Uber gaining traction, I would hope this gets addressed. read more

She was part of a large group so I didn't have her name I was hung up on not just once but twice by the rudest person. I couldn't believe the bad attitude and the nerve to hang up on someone. Called an hour before I had to be at the airport, specifying where I was going. The person on the phone said they would have a cab out to me between 10 and 45 minutes. 30 minutes later I called to see if the cab was on it's way. I got put on hold for 5 minutes then told that it would be another hour. Don't use this service. They should tell you the first time you call that they are backed up. I've been using Metry cab for years now. I've always had prompt courteous service. No matter where, or what time I've needed them, I've always gotten professional service. I'd rather walk than deal with any other cab company, nor a cabbie that I can't understand what he/she saying. read more

I have used Metry Cab on a number of occasions. They are always very prompt (usually less than 10 minutes from my call), the vehicles clean, and always friendly. On our last trip with them, my wife's driver's license fell out in the cab, unknown to us. The entire next morning was spent in an anxious frenzy as we attempted to figure out where we had lost it and dreading the ordeal of going through replacement at the DMV. At 9am there was a knock at the door and our driver from the night before was there with the license in his hand. God bless that man for finding the license and taking the time to bring it to us at home on his time. I'll be using Metry Cab with their app exclusively from now on. read more

Great service! I made a reservation so I knew it would be $20 to get to the airport. According to the man on the phone, airport regs. Anyway, it rained TORRENTIALLY for 2 hours before my flight out of MSY. The streets were FLOODED. My cab showed up and Thomas (my driver) helped me get my stuff into the car. Traffic on Veterans was crawling. Thomas manuvered around the side streets. There were several spots that we were both afraid he wouldn't get through. Luckily, his cab was a little higher than the normal ones. After a scary 15 minutes where we saw several stranded cars, Thomas got back onto Vets and made it to the airport exit. Terrible. Called last night to book a cab for 5.15 a.m., made it clear that I was headed to the airport and had a flight to catch. When I called this morning to ask where they were at 5.25 they said the driver was 10 minutes away. No apology. I gave them fair warning that if they weren't there in 10 minutes I was gone. At 5.40 they called to say the driver was there, a grand 25 minutes late. Again, no apology. At that point I had decided to drive myself (and pay more for parking than I would have paid for the cab) because I couldn't risk missing my flight over an unreliable company. The guy got pissed I had left. Well then don't be 25 minutes late to drive someone to the airport! The response below does offer an apology so I'll remove the 1-star rating, but I do think you could provide that warning of a 15 minute window when I call to make a booking and it's clear that it's for an early morning flight. Called the night before to arrange for an early pickup to the airport. Tried to call the company a half hour before the scheduled pick up time to confirm. No answer.Called over and over again trying to reach someone. And, you guessed it, no pick up. Ended up getting in my car and paying for long term airport parking. When we arrived home, we saw that there was a missed call from Metry Cab 12 minutes after the scheduled pick up time. Unacceptable. Will never use ever again. read more
