My fare with Metry was half of that and the driver, #83, Jeremy, was GREAT!! He arrived 10 minutes earlier than promised (I was VERY happy about that because I told dispatch the body shop closed at 5 and I needed them to come ASAP due to rush hour.) Jeremy was polite, an outstanding and safe driver and I was enjoying our conversation so much I wished my trip was longer. I've only had good experiences with Metry Cab and think they deserve a better rating so I hope this helps. THANKS so much to the dispatcher and to Jeremy for getting me to the shop in plenty of time before they closed. Support local businesses and this excellent Metairie "born and raised here" driver! As usual with native born New Orleanians, you find out within seconds that you know a bunch of people in common and share a lot of the same experiences. Gotta love it!

The cool thing about cab number 101 is that it was the lowest numbered cab in the company, and from what I am told, it was the most desirable cab number in the fleet. But I digress. Even back then, I rarely had the need for a cab but I had a close relationship with these three cabbies and United Cabs is the only cab I have ever taken in those rare instances when I do need a cab. Like Yelper John L.H. stated, "If you have to take a cab in New Orleans, insist on United". Call me old fashioned, but when in New Orleans, I would always choose United Cabs over Uber and/or Lyft. They've been in business since 1938, so they definitely know the city. They have over 400 cabs and are also the largest fleet in the city. According to their website, " All Drivers are: Licensed FBI Background Checked, Finger Printed, and Drug Tested. All Vehicles are Equipped with Cameras. All vehicles equipped with credit card machines for your convenience. They take Cash & Credit Cards. All Vehicles Pass An Annual 27-Point City Inspection Before Allowed To Carry Passengers". Do yourself a favor, if you need a professional lift, choose United Cabs. You'll have the peace of mind that you are using the best service in the city.

No drivers, reservation canceled. I used Uber for less money than the cab. Third NO driver to take me to the airport from my hotel. .. again, Uber for $28. much less than United. I have deleted the app from my phone and will not waste my time in the future. UBER is so much more dependable. And they always had the AC on.

He spoke loud and clear. The curtesy call to let me know my taxi had arrived and was outside was supposed to be around 25 minutes and called not even 15 minutes later and then the driver himself was ur average Joe Schmoe taxi driver and u could do tell he was well seasoned and had many many years n miles under his belt with the same taxi cab company his whole 20some years (which I think says a lot right there!!);) During my first ride cab ride like ever besides nyc he would tell me little cool fun facts about Baton Rouge band I felt safe and secure the entire trip!! Arrived very promptly he gave me his card and was very polite and sweet and answered quite a few questions for me! He even was very polite to offer to wait with me and i just thought that that was such a nice gesture giving the known facts I'm a single petite middle aged woman(37and a half lol) all by her lonesome and Baton Rouge isn't the safest of places so yeah that's was pretty freaking awesome of u ask me!!! But I told him no no go ahead I'm sure he had things he had to do or other rides or something but he insisted he could wait but I had to go in fix my sugar w some shake anyways so but yeah long story short superb exp. Furthermore, I love supporting privately owned and small companies, because I value their dedication and amazing service. A week before our arrival to New Orleans, he followed up with me, confirming arrival times and flight number. As we arrived, he was already waiting at the baggage claim and along with hand-held sign with our name on it. We loved that without having to repeatedly call and worry where he is parked or where he is waiting. His luxury SUV is pristine and a beauty--a black Lincoln Navigator. There was so much comfort and leg room and his car was air conditioned already along with our seats. He also handed us two cold bottles of water, which we greatly appreciated after coming from a long flight. He drove us to our hotel and the ride was so smooth and we felt so safe that I fell asleep! Haha! Michael is wonderful in his demeanor, his personality and his service. On our last day of our vacation, he was already at our hotel exactly at 3:15 pm with the SUV ready and set to go to the airport. We will always remember Michael for our transportation needs and hope to come back to New Orleans. Very nice, courteous, and professional man.
