I don't usually write a lot of reviews, but I had to today. Dr. Nachum is a GREAT eye doctor…read more Ridiculously thorough, and so very helpful. I had two previous eye doctors, and well, they are not anymore. In these days and times with what is going on now, nothing will stop Dr. Nachum from helping his patients. He'll never abandon you unless there is a zombie apocalypse, but I'm not even sure about that. It's easy to picture Dr. Nachum picking up a shovel and giving it to the zombies just to make it in to help his patients.

I write this review with disappointment…read more Dr. Nachum suggested that - for a pair of eyeglasses which I would be wearing *all* the time, to have the blue-light blocking coating since I work in front of a computer. I accepted the advice of the doctor, and opted for the $90 more option to do so. In the past year after continuously wearing these eyeglasses, I noticed that I was not sleeping well as before, and also felt increasingly lethargic. It was only after conducting an eye-exam with a different doctor did I discover that it was an *absolute mistake* to wear blue-blocking lenses all the time. More egregious is the fact that this is common knowledge - that no one should be wearing blue-blocking all the time - it disrupts circadian rhythms and moods. It is difficult for me to presume that Dr. Nachum did not know about this. I am saddened to think that Dr. Nachum - who so casually asserted that the glasses he prescribed are fine to wear all the time - did so to go after putting an extra charge on my eyeglasses. Greed is a terrible vice, doctor.

Dr. Rudick performed my PRK surgery. My results speak for themselves. I'm 20/15 now after wearing…read morecontact lenses for over 15 years and having a prescription of around -3.25. Dr. Rudick is fairly laid back, which makes the procedure feel "routine", which is a good thing. I decided on PRK after researching the differences between the two procedures. Rudick said that my corneas were suitable for either procedure, but said that my concerns made sense regarding potential side effects and cosigned my decision. I scheduled my actual procedure the day after the consultation and they were able to accommodate me. The procedure itself took around 5-10 minutes. Aftercare is straight forward and he does give you his number in case you need to text questions on the weekend, which I did a couple of times. It's been a month and my vision has stabilized, post-op checkups have been hassle free. The only constructive feedback I have is the wait times are consistently 30 min past the appointment or so. I think this is acceptable since Rudick does not rush patients, but that is my only complaint. Just plan accordingly. All in all, I would 100% recommend Rudick and his team to anyone looking to achieve perfect vision and pretty much change their life.

I recently had a prescription made at Eyes on Second and I was completely DISAPPOINTED in their…read moreservice. The first optometrist didn't really listen to me, but I tried her prescription anyhow. After one week I wrote them that I needed a Recheck as my SPH prescription was overplussed: past 20 feet to infinity I was seeing blurry; my old eye glasses with an SPH of 0.50 less in each eye was definetly better for distances farther than 20 feet. I went to the Recheck with another optometrist and told her again the problem I was having. At the end of the recheck consultation I asked what was my revised prescription going to be and she refused to tell me (!!!). Optometrist claimed that she would tell me the prescription after the lenses would be fabricated (???). It took 3 back and forth emails afterwards and 5 hours to get the prescription thru email at the end of the day. By law an optometrist has to give the prescription to a patient immediately after the consultation and before the lenses are fabricated. When I got the prescription thru email, it was again with the same over-plussed SPH for both eyes that I had already tried for the previous 2 weeks! I wrote them to fabricate the free remake of the lenses with a reduction of 0.25 for each eye., something in between my old glasses and their failed prescription that I had tried already for 14 days. They refused and told me that they would refund my money for the lenses and the frames and would contact my Insurance to clear the used benefits. I wish the problems would end there, but when I went back to return the case (they already had the frames in their possession) and process my refund ( I had paid by tapping the phone and my apple card) their machine was not able to process the refund and I had to wait in the store for 52 minutes (!!!) as they kept trying. At the end they promised me that they would try to do it "manually" and after two days they managed to process the refund. By the way , I found their optician rather crass and primitive in his demeanor. Plus I have never heard an optician say that a difference of 1 mm would make no difference for my vision behaviour in relation to the lower reading zone or that a difference of 4 degrees (!) in the AXI would make no difference. If you care about your eyes and your time, plus your self respect ,avoid Eyes on Second.

First, he told me to wait in one of the exam rooms, but a minute later said he made a mistake and wanted me back in the waiting area. Then right after, he called me back into the same room for a "vision range" test. When I sat down, he slammed the plastic eye cover onto my glasses and told me to read the numbers on the screen in a really aggressive way. He kept forcing the cover onto my face, which felt rough and made me uncomfortable. I'm very near-sighted (-7.00 in both eyes) and was struggling to read the screen since my glasses prescription isn't perfect (I usually wear contacts). Instead of being patient or helpful, he just kept shoving the eye cover in my face and telling me to "just read it," even though I told him I couldn't see that far. As a patient for over 4 years, I really hope the management takes into consideration how their staff treats patients, and this kind of behavior isn't acceptable.

BUT: there are a bunch of little things that have added up to make my overall experience with Dr. Parkin pretty negative. The staff doesn't seem to be very professional and is incredibly hard to work with. I've felt like he was trying to get me to do things that I didn't need (like insisting on testing for this-or-that eye condition, seemingly because my insurance would cover it... not because I actually needed to be tested for it.) Also, two very unskilled people did my preliminary exam and some of the testing... he had to repeatedly correct what they were doing. AND there were big delays in getting my last pair of glasses- and when I called the office to ask where they were, no one really seemed to know what to tell me.
